I have been going to Dr. Jackson's office for almost a year and see NP Taylor. She is great and…read morezero complaints about her. However, staff absolutely needs training in customer service. I had an appointment on August 21, 2025, and left medical forms to be filled out. I was told 7-10 business days. I have called several times as it is well into September and still have not got forms back. I got one call back and was treated as if I was bothering her. I was told they would check into it. Still no call back and still no medical forms.

2 Stars = Could've Been Better…read more I was diagnosed with Hyperacusis back in September. I came to Lance Jackson's office per recommendation from Doss Audiology (110% recommend Doss Audiology!)). During my 2 appointments here at Lance Jackson, I was attended to by a PA and NP. Both times I felt unheard and both times I felt rushed. This office has a factory type setting for patient care. Get patients in and get patients out. The clinicians are bouncing from room to room and seem like they are booked all day. Maybe even double booked. This model is great for business, but in the end the quality of care suffers. My initial visit I met with a PA. I felt rushed and unheard. After my appointment, I overhead a conversation between her and a coworker where it was said, "Oh she's worker's comp? Good luck getting out of work honey". I didn't address it until my follow up appointment. During my follow-up appointment I met with a NP. I again felt rushed and unheard. When I asked for the notes from my 2 visits, my feelings were confirmed. The notes listed wrong symptoms from the wrong ears and basically wrong information. One note even stated I said I had difficulty attending my son's basketball game. I don't have a son. That's not what I said... It's a bit comical feeling unheard at an ENT office... Anyway, both experiences were frustrating. Especially when you're dealing with a newfound hypersensitivity to sound and it seems like people don't believe you. People who you go to seeking assistance from. I did contact the office manager and reported what I heard regarding the worker's comp comment. Even if they weren't specifically talking about me, it was disappointing to hear as a patient. To know there are clinicians here vocalizing their dismay towards Worker's Comp in a patient filled area. I hope you have a better experience than I did. I won't be back.

How is it that this guy still in business after all this time? Ruiz Gilbert M MD is a total con man…read moreand his minions are only in it for the easy money by milking all the customers that come in with useless everything. he should have been reported and shut down for everything years ago but for some reason that has not happened yet and probably never will. he sure knows the art of being incredibly incompetent, wasting my mom's time and her money on misdiagnosis. things got so bad here my mom had to go to the University of Health and Science Center instead. all those months we wasted here at the Ear Nose & Throat Clinic only in the end to have left with nothing and to have nothing to show for it. this place should have been plagued with medical malpractice lawsuits and shut down already by the city years ago because it is not worth keeping in business. but at least UHS got the job done in the end. he wasted valuable time and if we would have known better than we would have went to UHS in the first place. this place is way more trouble than it is worth for anything. it's not worth it. dont bother. they are only here to take your money and leave you for dead. that's all they know how to do. this location is just a just a front so they can scam you with placebo medications and fixes only to have you coming back again. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!

After, I remember waking up in recovery and thinking "wow, I can breath again." The first time I met Dr Nolen, he came into the room and told me" I was reviewing your case last night and this what I think we need to do". At this point I had seen a lot of people, no one had offered a plan and few had reviewed my case prior to seeing me. I knew when he told me that, I had found someone who can help me get the care I needed. I cannot write enough good things about him and his staff or thank him enough.

He doesn't rush you, he always have time for you and your concerns. During your appointment he focuses on you. Dr. Nolen told me upfront of the risks of my much needed surgery. My age was a factor (68). I could end up with partial facial paralysis. The surgery involved working around a major nerve that controlled the movement of the right side of my face. That nerve might need removal and then replacement. I might not be able to close my right eye or close my lips together on the right side of my face after the surgery. I could end up drooling. He has years of experience in any event. On my first visit I felt very confident he could do the job. He told me everything I needed to hear. I had a tumor in my right parotid gland. I also had a second tumor in my right ear canal. That second tumor had pretty much ended my hearing in that ear. One looked to overlap the other. From the CT scan the one was deep and could near a jugular vein. They had both been there since 2019. Four years of knowing weighs on one's mind. A biopsy was done prior to my meeting Dr. Nolen by Dr. Whited also of Austin ENT. He referred me to Dr. Nolan after realizing the magnitude of the necessary surgery. His specialty is throats not so much ear related issues. But he too could have performed the surgery. That referral also speaks volumes to the abilities of Dr. Nolen. Another thing I needed to hear was that it could take 6-7 hours of surgery. That concerned me greatly. He assured me with confidence he had preformed much longer surgeries. After the surgery he told me the way it was. The surgery ended up being much easier than originally assessed. Luck was on my side he had seen and operated on much worse. In the end I had very little facial paralysis, which was mostly being able to firmly close my lips together. The exciting news, I feel I got back more hearing in that ear than I thought possible. Thank You Dr. Nolen!
