We felt very confident in Frank's work since he CLEARLY has much experience with all types of blinds. He expertly measured for complex window shape and the resulting blinds fit and operate perfectly. We had some glitches in arrival times but SO appreciate that he traveled a good distance to service us in a rural area. Highly recommend this seasoned pro. Truly, what is more frustrating than buying window blinds? Crazy expensive, so many competing ads? In-home, Big Box stores, Retailers? Which type? How transparent? Powered or manual? Battery, hardwired or even Power over Internet (POI)? And heaven forbid you get the measurement wrong. After MUCH research, we selected POI blinds from Smartwings and that website recommended NBI for measure/install. We had a competitor come to our home who left a written estimate for almost twice the price will less fabric options and no POI. NBI sent Frank to our home to measure and we asked his advice for all the options we'd selected. He confirmed our decisions and came back in a few weeks to do a perfect install. Had Blinds installed by this company today and they look nice, but once the installer left, I realized the wand on the blinds was out of placement and he has scratched my painted wall, while installing the blinds. We were in a pinch to do window coverings for a higher end apt complex in walnut Creek on short notice and was referred to Blinds.com. THru them I was hooked up with NBI, received info on an installer in my area and smooth sailing from there on out. Antonio was super prompt in his communications, we set up a measuring time, and discussed the nuances of the job while he measured. He had some good insights that helped us pick out what we needed. I believe he even started his commute a bit early on our appt so that he could accommodate the tight timeline that landed on us. Steve's Blinds referred me to NBI for "goof proof" guarantee if I hired NBI to measure my windows. I booked an appointment and someone came out to measure my windows for $65.00. A couple of days later, my windows were measured and they sent the measurement sheet directly to the retailer and copied me. Fast forward a week later, my blinds arrive. I go to install it and low and behold one of the blinds is too small for the window; incorrect measurement. I call Steve's Blinds and was told that I need to contact NBI as they are the ones who guarantee the fit. I contact NBI and they give me the run around that because I installed the blinds myself, the warranty and fit guarantee is void. WTF? I paid your company $65 to have a window treatment "professional" come and measure my windows! After expressing my dissatisfaction, NBI tells me that they are just a middle-man that refers customers to local installers in my area and that if anything, I should contact the guy who measured my windows. Furthermore they told me that the installer might not have done the measure if he knew I was going to do the install myself as they don't make money doing measurements. So $65 for him to come here and spend 15/20 mins to measure my windows is not enough? When I scheduled the appointment, I was under the impression that installation is optional at $18 per window. Had I known this was the expectation, I would've measured the windows myself. Their website wasn't very clear. There is obviously no accountability on the part of NBI. I emailed pictures to the guy who measured my windows and never heard anything back; got the big ignore. I called Steve's Blinds and thankfully they took care of the issue on their end. Now that is what I call customer service! The replacement blind is only $50. Hopefully this review will help save others from having to deal with NBI; they will probably lose more than $50 after potential customers read this post. I contacted him, he was wonderful. He came out and measured all 16 shades, I placed the order with Blind Chalet, and when they shades were deliverd, he was here within 4 days and installed. He called me back within an hour. The day of installation, he called to say he was on his way. Can't ask for better. Quality work. Professional. He was neat. Protected my floors. I was referred to NBI by Blinds.com/Sears.com as a way to avoid any slip ups in measurement and make sure my blinds were the perfect size for the large loft window and sliding door I wished to get blinds for. I booked an appointment with "Art B". He is noted on the website as a "Pre-Screened NBI Installer with 32 years experience". He came out to measure costing $75 (in the Los Angeles Area. His measurements were WAY off. Outrageously so. On one window he missed 2 inches off the height. On the second he measure SEVEN INCHES TOO SHORT. When we went to install the blinds I though it must be a manufacturers mistake as they were comically short. Then i checked on the measurement page he signed off on, measured the blinds and could not believe how badly he got them wrong. What's worse is the quote we received from Art Boulanger for fitting was so high we asked a contractor friend about it and he actually laughed. Luckily because of Blinds.com wonderful sure fit guarantee and the help of a lovely customer services agent called Sheila we could replace the blinds. This is not the case with all websites you order your blinds from however ....and Art B (or Art Boulanger) comes up on many websites installer referral pages. With his complete lack of accountability (if he is not the one that fits your blinds or you end up ordering them from a different store) and an apparent complete incompetence at measurements I hope no one else wastes time and money on his services. read more

Blinds were installed and looked good. BUT the bead block on the pull prevented the blinds from going all the way up the first time I used them after installation. Called the company and Stephanie (said she was owner of San Diego Pacific Installers) gave me hard time re guarantee but NBI website and email I received said if I responded to survey within 7 days the installation would be guaranteed for 12 months. After a couple days, I did receive a call from my actual installer & email from the company explaining how to fix the blinds. It took 2 people to make the correction though. I selected my blinds with an online vendor who then referred me to NBI for measuring and installation. I was sent Marty to measure my house...a total of 22 windows. He was prompt, friendly and competent. When I placed my order he had me send a copy of the order so he could reconfirm all of the sizes and be sure all was entered correctly. The blinds arrived and Marty was very flexible on getting over to install them within a couple of days of their arrival. I was out of town so he was able to access the house via garage door code. He is totally trustworthy. He took care of installing all of the windows and checked in with me periodically to let me know how all was going. One of the vertical shades had a defective mechanism and he advised me to contact the vendor and they would send a replacement and, that he would come out to install it at no charge. I am currently working with the vendor and they have you just send a pic of the issue and then send you a replacement blind. All said the interaction with Marty was very good. He is very detail oriented and takes pride in his work, I would recommend him to anybody, anytime! read more

We chose the option to get the windows measured and the blinds installed. We were directed to NBI. NBI reached out immediately to set up an appointment to come out and measure. They were out in under a week. They uploaded the measurements to Blindsgalore. Blindsgalore emailed me that they had the measurements within 24hours of the appointment. They sent me the order to review via email. I paid for the blinds. NBI and Blindsgalore have some sort of electronic integration because everytime we received a notice from Blindsgalore about the order e.g. completion or shipment date, we also got an email from NBI. As soon as the blinds arrived we set up the installation appointment (only a few days after they arrived). My mother (88) was was very comfortable with the installers professionalism and timeliness. He cleaned up everything and left the work area totally cleaned up. She is really happy with her new blinds. read more

No accountability. I hired NBI to measure my windows for inside mounts to ensure the shades I ordered would fit perfectly. Their guarantee that the blinds would fit or they would replace them at their expense is what drove me to hire them. I hired Marty K who sent someone who works for him to measure my windows. I did not know at the time how many window shades I would be ordering so I just had him measure a bunch of windows. I placed the order and my shades came in and, low and behold, one of the shades was too big. We contacted Marty to come and install and mentioned one of them was too big and of course he hasn't returned my calls. Calling NBI was useless as well as they said the installers only made $60 on the job and make their money off installations. How are they supposed to install a blind that doesn't fit? Their guarantee is a scam! I contacted select blinds who cannot provide any help other than offering a 50% discount (on a $400 shade). If I would have know I would have just saved myself the $60 measure and risked measuring myself. read more
