Niemar from Nick's Pro Painting responded 10 minutes after the request was submitted and agreed to…read morean appointment 2 days later. He was available the next day, but I wasn't. He arrived 15 minutes early after confirming the appointment time 1 hour beforehand. He was professional, took the time to drive to Worcester, and provided a free estimate. Even though he was not hired, which is reflected in the raiting and the following explained experience, Nick's Pro Painting does deserve positive acknowledgement for this paragraph. This is a specialty job requiring detailed workmanship to strip and match stain as close as possible that two different contractors destroyed (after being asked NOT to paint/stain). One room has four different color stains, paint smeared on woodwork, doors that don't match their door frames, and a new expensive barn door with dried stain running down it. My initial request included pictures and explained that this job was mainly to sand, strip stain, and match woodwork as close as possible. All respondents were aware upfront. This task is able to be accomplished because a professional painter had already performed some of the work before becoming unavailable. It was disappointing to hear Niemar, a professional painter, recommend to just paint everything white. This, after one painter already completed some of the work, a second painter the previous week said he could do it, and a contractor yesterday said he could do it. I, myself, could just slap white paint on the woodwork if that's what I wanted, losing the higher quality wood in the process. 1"x 4ft pieces are painted white, not oak baseboards and carved moulding. This is a two-story house, so while the second floor would have beautiful matched stain, MOST (not all) of the first floor rooms would have white, painted trim. While that is the standard nowadays, this city house on a dead-end street has trees and nature on two sides, plus deer/wild turkeys/bunnies that pass by. The interior woodwork is a reflection of the ever disappearing nature outside. The desired end result is for beauty and consistency. This was my deceased mother's house, to be listed for sale in spring 2025. With a 5 rating I think I had higher expectations than a lazy suggestion. Additionally, the brief, interim owner after my mother died, is a Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker-Worcester Branch, who flips houses (I'd run from her and them!) She had the nice vinyl siding painted, which is now peeling and cracking after only 16 months! Niemar said he couldn't touch it up without having the exact brand and color paint used. This was surprising to hear since ROOFERS were able to replace some cracked siding (my mother kept extra of the original, unpainted siding) and they painted it to match by bringing a scraped piece of paint to Home Depot and having exterior paint tinted to the sample. The type of paint was recommended by the initial, professional painter, who painted the entire interior and was capable of correcting the mis-matched stain nightmare unnecessarily created by incompetent contractors who refuse to listen. My impression is that, because the project is a tedious, detailed labor of love honoring my mother's memory and for the next family, Niemar just didn't want to do it. Which is fine of course, but it might be better in future to say something to the effect of, "While I'd like to help, this project is going to be a little too time-consuming to fit in with other jobs we currently have," rather than what he actually said, which was, "It will have to be sanded. There will be dust. I can't do it." It would have been better if, after seeing the request/pictures and knowing what was being asked before contacting me, that the response was, "Unfortunately, Nick's Pro is unavailable." Coming to see the house when unable to perform the job was just a waste of time for both of us.

From the very beginning, Sue was a pleasure to work with. She was patient, responsive, and incredibly thorough. She helped me develop a detailed scope and fair pricing for a large, complex job, even accommodating two rounds of changes as we expanded the project. Her organization and communication made what could have been a stressful process completely smooth. On the first day of work, I knew we had chosen the right team. As soon as the door opened, Sergio, Hugo, and their father immediately laid down protective tarps before stepping inside. This small gesture spoke volumes about their professionalism and respect for our home. Their prep work was meticulous. They carefully patched cracks, smoothed out imperfections, and caulked all the woodwork to ensure every surface was perfect before paint went on the walls. When it came time to paint, it was clear these three are true craftsmen. The precision of their lines and the care they took with every detail elevated the results from "good" to truly exceptional. They also have outstanding woodwork skills, which was especially important for our project since it included intricate kitchen cabinets and several built-ins. They sanded, patched, and refinished everything so beautifully that it all looks brand new. They couldn't have been more patient as we worked through our color selections, including one color we ended up changing after seeing it on the built-in. They handled it with kindness and flexibility, never rushing us or making us feel like it was an inconvenience. The team also coordinated seamlessly with other contractors, adjusting their schedule and room sequence to fit perfectly around our flooring and carpet installation timeline, which something I really appreciated as it was very stressful to navigate. In every interaction, this team demonstrated skill, pride, and genuine care. It's rare to find a company that combines quality workmanship, professionalism, and such a thoughtful approach to customer service. I can't recommend Decolores Painting highly enough! if you're looking for painters who treat your home as if it were their own, this is the team to call.

I was worried about coordinating with a contractor from 500 miles away, but Sue, the Decolores Project Manager, put my mind at ease. She was a 10/10 communicator throughout the project, and has probably the clearest most thorough text messages of anybody I've worked with. The job was done on time, on budget, and the paint quality is outstanding. On top of that, Sue was very helpful in coordinating with other contractors I had on-site as well while I wasn't there. I'll be going to Sue and Decolores for all my interior and exterior painting needs in the future. Thank you!

I called Josh and talked to him about my house that is huge and old; as I told him, I needed to repair the windows before the paint job could be completed. Josh said that he knew a carpenter who could do the windows and would paint the house after the repairs were done. As it turned out, I needed to get 27 windows fixed. So I had a bargain, a good carpenter who was ready to go up three stories to get my windows on the top floor and a painter who was going to paint my three-decker. Eventually, J&J came after all the repairs were completed and painted my house in 10 days. They were extremely efficient, professional, and pleasant to deal with. They answered my concerns by scraping, sanding, and caulking all surfaces. They used primer and good paint. Some of my neighbors came over to Josh to ask him whether he could paint their houses too. There was no drama, no mess. They told me in advance to inform other residents not to use the common area for a day or two. I definitely hope to hire them for inside jobs and recommend them for outside painting.

We met with other painters and Patrick Wetherbee stood out. He was personable, honest, and explained how he would perform the work, and his prices were reasonable and fair. Pat Wetherbee, the owner of "Pat's Painting and Surface Care" and his crew did a professional and thorough job on the rooms that needed work and had the rooms looking brand new. They have a very organized and efficient system. Patrick and his crew are very professional where they prepped all the rooms and areas before painting and drywall repair so everything is kept clean neat and orderly. Afterwards, they vacuumed and cleaned up the rooms so everything is left tidy and we did not have to pick up after them. The advantage of having Patrick and his crew is that they are very efficient and worked well as a team. They did all the work within a day which made it convenient for us to have our house back quickly so we can assume our daily lives. This is what greatly differentiates him from other Painters. We were very impressed with Patrick Wetherbee and his team, he is personable and has a good work ethic. He communicated thoroughly with us in what we to expect. He did exactly what he said he was going to do and then some. He goes above and beyond in his work and we are so glad we hired him; Patrick and his team are outstanding. He made our lives easier during a stressful time and we would definitely hire Patrick Wetherbee again for any future work and is highly recommended for anyone looking for an excellent Painter .
