To be fair, I made a mistake and thought my appointment was at 9:30 when it was actually at 9:00. When Cheron called me at 9:10 I immediately apologized and even offered twice to reschedule if that was easier. Instead she just asked for my ETA in an irritated tone and said she'd see me soon. From the minute I got there the whole appointment felt tense. I asked for a simple trim, some face framing pieces, and something low maintenance since I don't spend a lot of time styling my hair. It didn't feel like a difficult request but I felt like my preferences were an inconvenience. Even the shampoo was so rough it was uncomfortable instead of relaxing. The haircut itself turned out nice but what really shocked me was the finish. I paid $150 and expected at least a basic styling. Instead, my hair was blow dried with her fingers... no round brush, no comb, no straightener, no curls. Nothing. I genuinely couldn't believe that was the finished result. I'm happy I ended up with a decent haircut but the overall experience felt uncomfortable from start to finish and nowhere near the level of service I expected.

Tory is incredible. In my 30 years of haircuts, this was the best salon/stylist experience I've ever had. I'm pretty basic- never colored or highlighted my hair, no drastic cuts- I just needed a quality shampoo/cut, but in just one appointment, Tory completely revolutionized the way I think about my hair. She gave me a complete tutorial- everything from how I shampoo/condition, products I use, how to blow dry, and gave me enough tips/tricks/insights to last a lifetime. Tory is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about hair care, hairstyling- and she's excellent at what she does. She made me feel completely comfortable, and thoroughly explained every step she took with my hair, every tool used and every product used. It's amazing how much I learned in just one hour. I would recommend Tory to anyone! She is not only an awesome hairstylist (she literally worked a miracle on me after having a bad experience elsewhere), but she is an amazing person overall! Her personality is so down to earth and instead of feeling I was just running another errand, I was talking to a lifelong friend (who I had just met by the way). Madi (co-owner) began coloring my hair about 7 years ago after I walked through her doors desperately needing a hair color correction after another salon made some serious mistakes on my hair. She was friendly, professional, and most importantly worked absolute magic on my ravaged hair. After that I only went to her for my coloring needs. There's nothing like feeling completely comfortable and trusting when sitting in someone's salon chair. Worth every penny to know when you leave you look exactly how you expected. My first visit with Tory consisted of a toner, shadow root and blow out... which turned out SO good! But what really stood out to me is the fact that she truly took the time to sit and talk to me about what I wanted out of my toner and asked about my hair history, hair care routine and products I use at home. Most salons just want to keep the chair rotating to make more money, but the fact that she took that much time with me to discuss toner options and a future color appointment with me told me that I had found the right chair. But expect to have your haircut decided for you not with you. I have shoulder length hair I was trying to grow back out. I said I wanted to keep length but clearly needed some help with dimension and layers from a early pandemic self-cut. Leah had already decided what she was doing. The wash was fine, but then she used a towel to tightly pull my hair against my scalp (a major curl no no). The initial layering would have been fine, but then without checking with me, she started twisting large sections of my hair and razoring them!! I was horrified. I knew she went too high and I would end up with awkward short pieces around my scalp and that not paying attention to my curl pattern meant I would end up with ringlets that look like they've been hacked. She then diffused while tightly scrunching my top curls and shaking out the rest. I wear my hair in it's natural tight ringlets, not tousled out, so this didn't provide a realistic assessment of the cut. After washing it at home and letting it curl naturally, I've had to trim quite a few legging ringlets and have found I have a some wierd short curls around the top layer that I'm not loving.

Full head of tinsel? JORDANS GOT YOU- I have mentioned repeatedly I would like a full head of tinsel hair. (Please review added photos of myself for proof of my various color treatments along with the seamless extension blending) I quite literally walk into the salon each time and say "Jordan, you tell me what we're doing today" and every single time I walk out I'm like DAAYYYUUUMMMM- she really does the dang thing every. single. time. Not to mention the vibes Jordan brings to every appointment is top tier- aka she tells me I'm funny and it absolutely fuels my ego. But seriously, Jordan absolutely slays my hair hair every single time and the entire GROW team is incredibly knowledgeable & passionate about what they do- bonus points, they're ALWAYS constantly pursuing more & more education so that they're able to be better than they were the day before (ex. They have a freaking laser to help with hair growth... what salon is going to those lengths to make THAT big of an impact on your hair health?!! Spoiler: no one is besides GROW.) In conclusion, you'd be clinically insane to not go to GROW and see my girl Jordan. P.S.- they have wine and snacks. The salon is comfortable and relaxed, with fun mod decor that always makes me smile.
