I've been coming to this salon for 20 of years now and I have nothing but great things to say. Quyen is an incredible stylist who really listens to what I want and does a flawless job executing for everything including color and cut . She's very talented and diligent with her work. I highly recommend requesting her for any service.Everyone at the salon is friendly and professional. Just a very pleasant experience overall each time I visit.
I don't typically post but my experience is so bad I have to make sure no one else goes through what I went through. I wanted to try a salon that had lots of experience highlighting and coloring Asian hair. After looking at some of the pictures I went in for brown/blond balayage. I left with an all over off-color, weird reddish tint at my roots, and chunks of my hair burnt off. What a mistake, I have so many regrets. The stylist Nina was confident, almost cocky that she was going to be able to pull off what I asked for but she literally destroyed my hair. I asked for brown/blond Balayage but the color she gave me has a weird overly ashy tint and worst off she over processed my hair and parts of my hair broke off, at the length right above my ear. How am I supposed to hide that?!? Also that part of my hair wasn't even remotely damaged, it was virgin hair she started out with. There is also this weird reddish tint right at my roots, just what in the hell did this woman do to my hair?? She did really sloppy work and I should I walked out when my gut said to do so. I am so mad, I am going to have to spend hundreds of dollars to try to repair and correct what she did. Don't go to this salon.
ASK FOR KIM! When I moved to ATL in July, I was really nervous finding a new hairstylist as I had a grey balayage that was turning brassy. Luckily, I found Kim via Instagram and booked my first appointment in August. Booking is very easy - I usually just message her on Facebook and she is very responsive. Tip: bring photos of what you want - she is very honest about the condition of your hair and will tell you if the color/style suits you or not. Since my hair was in terrible condition, I told Kim I wanted the color to be brought up and my hair to be more gray. After 6+ hours in the chair (good hair takes time!), I walked out with a fresh new-do. For my first session, I wasn't able to get as light as I wanted to because my hair was pretty damaged, but it was crazy how light she was able to get it in one session. I saw her again three months later for a touch-up and she was able to get a beautiful ash grey this time!! After only two sessions!! The last salon I went to back at home told me it would take nearly a year to achieve the color I wanted, so I was super impressed (and my hair wasn't dead either!!) As long as you take care of your hair properly with the proper shampoo and hair masks, the color can last a long time. Grey usually fades very quickly, but even when the color does fade, it still looks great! Pricing is very reasonable for the amount of work she puts into your hair. The most I paid was the first time I visited, but each visit the price goes down a little bit because there's less bleach used. I highly recommend Kim to anyone with stubborn Asian hair who wants to go lighter without frying their hair. Kim definitely knows what she is doing and the results show on her Instagram.
I hate getting my hair cut but it's a necessary evil that must be done. My hair was getting too long and was half bleach blond. It was time. I wanted something that wasn't too far from home so I googled and yelped. Q Hair Studio popped up and I saw it had great reviews, that's all I needed to know before making my appointment. On the day of, I had no idea who was cutting my hair or what to expect. I just walked in and was instantly greeted by Quyen. She was super friendly and professional. She sat me down and asked what I was looking for. I showed her some examples of what I was considering and told her I wanted a style that was super low maintenance. From that, she told me her thoughts and was honest about what she thought. I really appreciated that. We found a style we both really liked and we even had a consultation about coloring. We cut enough off and she toned the ends that were still a bit blond. I loved the color she picked and the way she cut my hair. All in all, I would 100% go back. I think I've found my stylist. No need for me to ever search for another salon again. Thank you, Quyen!
I am NOTORIOUS for salon hopping and a terrible habit of doing my hair color at home which is a MAJOR NO-NO when you're a bleached-blonde Asian. Kim to the rescue! She had done an updo for me for a wedding almost a year ago and she was super meticulous and did a BEAUTIFUL job. So when it was time to re-do my blonde, I scheduled an appointment with Kim based off the amazing work I saw on her IG. She can be easily reached via text messaging which makes it super easy. The salon is located in a small shopping center, Just look for Chateau Saigon. It's not the fanciest salon but it's clean and gets the job done. I had already texted her a picture of what I wanted done to my hair. Going from my yellow-blonde to a more white/silver-blonde. Definitely bring a photo of what you want since things can be hard to explain. She took her time and was super patient with me, making sure we were doing exactly what I wanted. She's also incredibly sweet and friendly. I also appreciated her honesty! She will not do something if she believes it will severely damage your hair. Be warned, they don't use Olaplex here but my hair actually turned out better than it had ever been despite being bleached again. Must be whatever type of products they use. Kim also gave me great recommendations regarding conditioner and shampoo for my new do. It's almost a month later and my hair has gotten even more cool-toned, just as she predicted and I love it! This review is solely on Kim as she is the only colorist I have gone to here (and I won't be going to anyone else- that's for sure!) Kim is seriously so so so talented! The first time I went to her back in April, she got my hair lighter than anyone has ever before in one visit but it did take 3-4 hours. It was a beautiful ashy blonde and I got compliments on it for mooooonths! Her ability to blend the colors is unbelievable! Now it's 3 months later and I decide to try something new, so I got a rose gold/purple toner done and it took less than an hour! Kim is truly a hair goddess, I would trust her to do my hair anytime!
I called there to speak with somebody preferably a manager to ask them if they do any services for someone who donating their hair to locks for love. The lady hung up in my face before I could ask for help I called for five times, and she kept answering just to hang up. When I asked for a supervisor. I would not recommend this place solely by their poor customer service.
Kim did a fantastic job with my hair!! I just moved to Atlanta a few months ago and was anxious and stressed trying to find a new hairstylist. I was recommended the studio from a friend and after reading all the positive reviews I decided to give the place a try. I came in for a cut and color. I showed Kim a few pictures of balayage highlights that I liked and she gave me her honest opinion of what colors would look good on me and what colors would "fight" with my hair. By the way, this is my first time coloring my hair in over 5 years! First, she blended my layers and bangs so it didn't look like a hot mess anymore. She gave me a light brown with reddish tone balayage. Then, she washed and styled my hair. I was super nervous of how my hair would turn out, but Kim has a great eye for color and style. I love the layers and dimension! I will definitely come back to her for another cut and color. My friends all love my hair and this gave me an extra confident boost!
I think this was the first time in my life I've walked out of a studio not only satisfied but happy about my hair. I went in knowing I wanted to get it colored purple (a radical change from my dark brown natural Asian hair), but didn't know how to do it. I've heard good things about this place and wanted somewhere that knew Asian hair well. I made an appointment with Quyen and she knew what I wanted as well as how to do it. I ended up getting around 2.5 rounds of bleaching and 2 rounds of dyeing - after I realized instead of the grey/purple I wanted a more bold shade. It ended up taking a long time because time was split between my friend and I who both got our hairs colored. It also was more expensive than I had estimated but that's due to time, the number of bleaching rounds, etc. The experience was overall good- we were offered cookies and coffee because we had gotten hungry, and ordered UberEats... Will warn that you should have a generous budget if you are going to do a large change on your hair, and that you have allotted time as well. For basic cuts this isn't relevant. Good hosts, friendly, and knew how to deal with our hair and make it what we wanted. I've attached the before and after photos for reference.

She was nice and friendly, I showed her what I wanted and she seemed pretty confident about what she was doing, she did inform me that there might be a few light pieces , I told her it was fine. After my hair was done with the color, a gentleman told me he'll be washing and styling my hair, he just started doing whatever with my hair and didn't tell me what he was going to do, which I found weird. He was also rough on my hair. Keep in mind I booked with Q, not him. Nonetheless it was ok. TO FINISH IT OFF, she didn't even get the color right! SHE CHARGED ME $250 for something so simple and got it wrong! MIGHT I ADD, that my scalp is the color of my hair, like who tf. Don't come. I'll place images of my scalp and what I wanted vs what I got.

However, the same friend who originally recommended me to go to her said she is no longer capable of doing a good job if you're going lighter and messed up her hair. Therefore, I had to look for someone else. After months of looking, a friend got her hair done and I fell in love with her hair. She told me who her stylist is and the price range. It was Kim at Q Hair Studio. In addition, she gave me a few other stylist that she has used before and the one her sister uses. After much thought and consideration, I settled for Kim. I knew the price range I would be spending. Kim was super outgoing, really sweet, and worked around my schedule. I was all up for it and scheduled for an appointment a month in advance! Kim is so gorgeous and looks even better in person than her pics. She is so cute and humble. Just talking to her, I could tell she really cares and values her clients. She wants the best for them. Every stylist tells me I have thick hair. Yes, Kim said it too. I guess cause as I age, my hair is thinning out so I don't think it's thick but Kim says it is. My hair took a bit of work, close to 4 hours! Kim wanted to make sure the job was done right. She kept coming back and checking up on me and ensuring that she doesn't want me to come back unsatisfied. I had a party to go to later that night and lemme say that I got a lot of compliments. On top of that, I posted my photos on IG and FB and everyone is asking who my stylist is. There are two Q Hair Studio. This one is in Chamblee off Buford Highway. The other is in Duluth. My new salon !! I was able to get an appointment for the same week. Q did my hair (her sister was sick) and I felt very special as I've never had a salon owner do my hair before! She's a master of her craft. My hair looks much better and feels much healthier. She was able to get me in and out in around 3 hours which is awesome since my hair is thick and long. She didn't try to upsell me and was fun to chat with. I'll be recommending this salon to all my friends read more
I called in last minute to see if they had an a opening and they did! I sat with Nina to do a trim and decided to be brave and go a little farther and cut some old color. Overall decently happy with the service but not the shortness of hair lol. read more

I found this salon on Yelp and am giving back. Staff are nice, masked, and good at what they do. I made an appointment with the owner, Q, and she lived ion to the reviews. I showed her a few cuts I liked, and she picked the one she thought would be best. Since I needed to be out of the salon at a certain time, she staged it so I got the cut one day, and the highlights 2 days later. I haven't had my hair colored in maybe 5 years, so I was a little nervous, but again she helped me select colors she thought would look best, and it was quick and GOOD. I'm thrilled. I'll be going back. read more

I've come back to Q Hair Studio after 2 years to get my hair colored once more, and let me tell you, Kim has done it again. She has outdone herself and I cannot be more happy with her work. I booked my appointment with Kim and told her I wanted a cooler, lighter tone -- that's all the information I gave her. She showed me some options and I told her to choose because I trust her judgment; I was right to do so! The color she chose matches well with my skin tone and her coloring technique adds depth to your hair, not something that looks one-dimensional. My hair was silky and soft (and it still is), and I felt fabulous. It has been a month since I've gotten my hair colored and since then, so many people have complimented on my hair. The color has remained vibrant and Kim did an amazing job on the color fade. When my dark hair grows out, it looks more natural. Thank you Kim! I love my hair. read more
I highly recommend Kim for all your haircare needs. I've seen her three times now and I loved my hair every time. She's very personable and always makes sure she knows exactly what you want done before getting started - it's so important for you and your stylist to be on the same page! Have a few pics ready to show her. She'll really work with you to get the best results, and keep your hair nice and healthy too. Kim is super sweet and truly talented! Absolutely loved my experience at Q hair studio. I had never dyed my hair before and was looking for a major yet natural change. Kim at Q hair studio took GREAT care of me. First off she had fabulous hair herself, plus all hair dressers were Asian and the clients were Asian. As a Filipina dyeing her hair for the first time, it was reassuring to know this salon was well versed in lifting colors on dark, thick hair! I cut ten inches off for donation and did a natural balyage... and I was super impressed with the final product. Pretty standard prices for this kind of work. Prepare to pay! Kim said weekends are busy as most salons are, so make an apt. :) read more

I went and got my hair done by Q. She spend her time in my hair and asked me what I wanted. I showed her but she also advice me and let me know that with my hair strength and condition at the moment, she may not be able to achieve 100%. Which I appreciate that because I don't want to achieve the color but in the contrary, stress my hair out a lot more. However Q did an awesome job trying to accommodate what I wanted but at the same time, not stressing too much of my hair. I am very happy with the turn out. read more

Got my hair done by Quyen and loved it! Had a great time and Q was very honest and talked me through everything she was going to do. I have long thick hair and wanted blonde but on the ashier side with dimension. It took a full 8 hours but on my dark Asian hair that had already been highlighted, that is to be expected. She took her time to make sure she got it right and she did a fantastic job. Love it. Have gotten so many compliments and my hair feels really healthy. Also, probably one of the most fun times I've ever had at a salon. Highly recommend and the price was amazing. Will definitely be going back! read more
Q Hair Studio is the best! I always let Hugh do coloring and cut on my hair over the past few years, and he has never failed me. He is pretty good at what he does when it comes to coloring. It's pricier than some places, but you pay for quality. I enjoy going when they are not so busy, because it has been on time I felt rushed when they were busy. Nina cuts my children's hair, and they are mixed race (Black and Asian). She also has mixed kids, so she knows what to do with their hair. She is patient and good with them too, as they are 2 and 5. The owner has always been nice, personable, and nice to us as well. The interior is kept clean, bright, and never too crowded. They are located in a plaza and share parking with other establishments, but parking has never been an issue. Overall, my family and I love Q Hair Studio! read more

FIVE STARS FOR KIM.. Let me start by saying, Kim is truly a hair artist. Not only did she pay attention to what I wanted for my hair, she gave her thoughts and talked me through the whole process before starting. I had looked at reviews on yelp about QHairStudio and came across Kim's work. She has done some impressive work! I proceeded to send her a message on Facebook about booking an appointment and sent her pictures. She politely told me that I needed to visit the shop in order for her to give me a proper consultation. I visited the shop the next day and she TOOK CARE OF ME. She listened to what I liked/disliked, gave me tips on care, and really did wonders for my hair. She is very social and really likes to make her customers feel comfortable. Hai did great job with my ash brown balayage. An added bonus: it was at an affordable price! If I lived in the area, this would definitely be my go-to salon. Both Hai and Quyen were so friendly and funny. read more

I am so impressed by how my hair turned out today. I had gotten my balayage taken up 2 wks ago at another salon, and while the other salon is great and love the people there, I sadly ended up with 2 tones and a line across the back of my head with the top part extra brassy (when I was going for ash tones). I even went back 2 days later to see if they could correct it, but it turned out the same, just a little lighter. That salon was gracious and offered me a full refund, but I had to still go about looking for a place that could then correct what had happened. I did a deep dive search into yelp and google reviews of salons specializing in Asian hair, and after looking at the before/after pics on here felt this place would be a good gamble. And it paid off!! The tone is a little ashier in real life than it shows in the final photo, which is what I wanted. And Q knew EXACTLY what to do & explained the entire process to me top to bottom. She was very attentive to not just my hair and questions but so friendly to the many clients calling in and appointments and walk ins coming through. I move around a lot, which means I now have a thorough process before I decide to get my hair done. First I go to Yelp and scour through photos of people with the same hair type (fine/straight/Asian hair). When I find something I like, I look up the hairdresser's social media to see their other work. This may sound obsessive but my hair is like a cape for my head that shields people from how big and round it is. I take it very seriously. My first haircut in Atlanta was a disappointment. I was seduced by the fancy salons that serve you beverages and ended up with a haircut that was expensive and not very different than what I came in with. Behold! I find Hugh Cuti. I first scheduled a haircut so I can ask him if my hair was healthy enough to dye it purple. I had highlights done a year ago and my hair has grown out a bit so I needed an update. Hugh is very knowledgeable about hair and great at picking out what looks good on me. Sometimes I think hairstylists can get caught up in their image for you and it doesn't end up being what you want. The great think about Hugh is that I felt like we were on the same page after telling him about my previous hairstyles. After my haircut and Hugh agreeing that my hair was healthy enough to be dyed, I texted him for another appointment a week later. I like that I can text Hugh for appointments since I work in a quiet office and don't want everyone knowing my grooming. Anyway, the whole process took about 2 hours, which was really fast. My hair is super dark and stubborn about lightening, so I was impressed with how efficient Hugh worked. He's not very talkative while he works and I appreciate/prefer that because it allows me to relax. The location reminds me of other Asian salons I've visited, I'm not quite sure how else to explain it... but I think you'll know what I mean when you get there. It's not one of those salons that look like a real-life pinterest board. My haircut cost $40 and my color cost $195 without tip, which is great in my opinion. My perception is skewed since I moved here from California where things are expensive. I had a friend in LA tell me her person quoted her something around $300. Too long? To summarize: - Hugh Cuti is great with hair. Check his instagram out. Just moved back to ATL recently and was looking for a new salon and I'm SO glad I found this one. Q colored my hair blonde and did an amazing job. I'm not surprised since I saw so much of her amazing work on their Instagram (check it out!) Q is also very sweet and nice to talk to. Very clean studio and everyone was wearing masks the whole time.
