I've already posted a review about my horrible cut. This is about the temper tantrum Laura Goddard threw when I stopped by to show her the cut. It took 3 days for her to respond to my emails because she was "mapping out a plan on how to respond instead of reacting" What?? I'm the one that has to wear a hat. I made sure to stop when I knew their would not be any clients in the salon and she yelled at me for BARGING in. She refused to look at my hair and yelled at me, wouldn't listen. Just like she didn't listen when I communicated what I wanted/didn't want prior to my haircut. read more

Lucky for me, I'm blessed with thick hair with natural blond highlights. Consequently, I don't make a fuss about doing my hair, and therefore usually go at least 6 months between hair cuts. I also just let it grow so that I can donate it. Add all these reasons to being 9 months pregnant when I was due for my last hair cut, and then dealing with having a little one, and I ended up going 15 months without a hair cut. After having said to my husband for the last 4 of those 15 months, I finally called Laura. Everything about the experience was comfortable, like going over to a friend's house who just happens to cut your hair. She asked questions to assess my regimen (of nothing), listened to my requests (hide my high forehead), and never judged (and yes, I always feel that previous stylists have judged). Conversation was easy the whole time, music was relaxing, and it was nice being in a space with just me and her, no other stylists or clients competing for attention. No stylist has ever paid such attention to my tresses! Laura literally went over my entire scalp trimming all of my split ends (it'd been 4 months since my last haircut) and got my hair back in more defined shape. Laura's salon is so peaceful. Even though I was feeling a bit stressed rushing over on my lunch break, she made me feel right at home. "Relax, this is your time." she cooed in her sweet Southern accent. I breathed deep, enjoying the sound of the Lumineers crooning on Pandora, and let Laura work her salon magic. The treatment was great. I loved the organic Inner Sense products, especially the orange flower oil used to blow dry my hair smooth. I can't say I've ever had a more relaxing experience at a salon and I won't wait 4 months again for my next haircut! read more

I have been going to Laura for about 6 months now and my hair is in so much better shape! I walked into her salon with damaged / brittle hair that had been over-processed. I didn't want to go back to my natural color and luckily with her great organic products she has been able to bring my hair back to life! The salon is quaint with just one chair - Laura is the only stylist. And she makes you feel right at home! The prices are on par for a Buckhead salon. I typically spend $150 on foils and $200 for both foils and a cut. read more

I've been going to Laura for about 6 months and she has saved my hair! My hair hasn't been this healthy in a least 20 years (not even exaggerating). Laura is extremely talented, works with what you want/what is realistic, and takes time to get to know your daily routine to give you a style that will actually work everyday, not just look good when you walk out of the studio. My thick, curly hair was in terrible shape - in fact, it had no shape aside from "big". I went in to my appointment two days ago with no idea what I wanted, just something low maintenance and fun. I am *thrilled* with the result! She took off a ton of weight, played with the curls, made sure I can still pull it back for work, and gave me a lovely color to cover my gray until the black I mistakenly did myself can grow out. I will be seeing Laura from here on out! It's rare to find someone who can do something so wonderful with the mess that grows out of my head. And talk about low-maintenance - it's wash and go and I'm getting compliments! Doesn't get better than that! read more

I am so pleased with Laura's service. I refer to her hands as "magic fingers" because she's transformed my long locks into one stylish, layered look. I love what she has done with adding color (highlights) to my hair and am extremely happy with the organic products that she uses at her salon. Laura is a true professional and when I tell her that my hair hasn't looked this good in years, it's the truth! I never knew what it was like to have a great haircut/trim until I met Laura and she was able to really give my hair dimension and layers that look awesome! I've received several compliments since my first visit and my second visit last night was equally impressive. I just moved to Atlanta and was dreading having to find a new hairdresser since it took me over two years to find one I liked in Austin when I had moved there...but I'm so glad I was referred to Laura Goddard Style! I got a balayage done by Amy - she's SO talented; my hair turned out better than I thought it would AND she's so friendly, so personable, and made me feel like I had been friends with her forever. Didn't get the color I asked for, had a 9am appointment and 3 people were fit in between by appointment, so I was the last to leave, over 5 hours later. A glaze was just applied on my hair and I wasn't told what it was or asked if I wanted it, then I was charged $65 for it. The salon ignored me when I asked to get my color/roots fixed and this looks terrible. read more

I first started going to Laura on the recommendation of a friend I worked with at a previous job. At the time, Laura was at Key Lime Pie. Those days seem so long ago! When she told me she was moving to another location one emotion set in: Panic. Where was I going to go? How far away was she moving? I had finally found someone who could do my hair! Luckily she moved to Lux so I followed her there like the stylist stalker that I am. I was very excited when she told me she was going out on her own and I was even more excited to know that it's still not that far away. My car shimmies when I go outside 285 so thankfully she is close. I have gotten many compliments on my hair and I always tell people where I go. I even started sending my husband to Laura to get his hair cut because she does such a fantastic job. read more

Laura is so great! Not only is she a talented stylist, but she's also so sweet. I highly recommend getting your hair cut at her cute, private studio in Buckhead. She cuts and styles your hair based on realistic expectations of what you do in your daily routine. She also understands face shape and hair texture so she really knows how your hair SHOULD be cut. I have followed Laura over the past 9 years and 3 salons....I am so excited that she has opened her own place! I first went to her on the recommendation of a friend and have never looked back. When I first sat in her chair, I had recently colored my dark blond hair a very dark brown and was trying to go back to a light blond. Needless to say, my hair was in horrible shape and felt like straw. She worked with me and my hair and over time, we were able to get my hair back to its original condition. We have done many different styles and colors over the years and I have never been disappointed. I regularly get stopped on the street and asked who does my hair; I have probably referred 25 people over the years! She even did my hair and makeup for my wedding so that says a lot! I can't recommend her enough and hope she never stops cutting and coloring. read more

When I go to get my haircut what I really want is good service and to be able to relax, Laura's salon more than meets my needs. As a busy Mom time away is always a precious commodity. So, Laura's is like a little haven for me. The decor is cute and relaxing - the music is always good. And, my hair always rocks after wards! I get so many compliments on it and always walk out of there feeling good. But, the thing I like most about getting my hair done by Laura is that I can talk to her - bounce ideas about my hair off of her. It has been my experience that being able to really have a stylist work with you on your hair and LISTEN to you is a rare treat. read more

Laura did hair and makeup for myself and two bridesmaids for my wedding. Not only did she do an amazing job, she kept us calm and entertained during what could have been a stressful morning. She was so wonderful to work with. I sent her pictures of styles I liked over email. She studied the pics and modified it to work with my hair. The result was amazing. From hair to make up I felt so beautiful. I even learned great makeup tricks of the trade! We all received so many compliments and remarkably our hair stayed in place all night! I won't go anywhere else for a haircut in Atlanta. Laura is really easy to talk to and very knowledgeable about hair and the best products to use on any hair type. My hair has been dry and damaged for a while now, and Laura gave me great tips to get my hair back on track -- I ended up buying some products she carries in the store, but she wasn't overly pushy at all! In fact, she didn't really try to sell me anything. I just saw how shiny and soft my hair was after my wash and knew I needed to change my regimen.
