A Hidden Gem Inside 1718 Brewing…read more- Must-Try! Marauder's Kitchen just took over the food space at 1718 Brewing Company, and we were so pleasantly surprised by how fantastic their food is! Yesterday I had the oyster po' boy with coleslaw-perfectly fried oysters, fresh toppings, and a flavorful remoulade that brought it all together. Today I came back for the fish tacos with pineapple and slaw, and they're equally delicious-fresh, light, and full of flavor. The portions are generous, everything tastes incredibly fresh, and the menu pairs perfectly with the beer from 1718. The team was friendly and welcoming, and the whole place has that laid-back island charm. If you're in Ocracoke --don't miss this place. We'll definitely be back!

Service was outstanding. The server had that classic beach-town ease (local or seasonal) but really knew the menu and did a great job. At one point, a woman who appeared to be management stopped by the table to check in. When she asked how things were, my answer was simple: "Incredible." The atmosphere is exactly right, relaxed but still polished, with just the right amount of energy without feeling crowded or chaotic. That balance is harder to get right than people think, and they've nailed it. I don't hand out compliments lightly, but this place delivers. Simple, fresh food, executed properly. No gimmicks, no shortcuts. This is absolutely a place you should try if you're in Ocracoke. I'll be back.

We were nervous about buying fish because we had a long journey back to our hotel, but the staff member made sure to pack our fish well enough that it was still perfectly cold by the time we got home. There was a great selection - shrimp, scallops, Spanish mackerel, tuna, tilefish, among other. She informed us that they were sold out of oysters for the day but had fresh ones coming in over night, available for purchase the next day. The market requires masks, which we appreciated.
