After a few months of stalking Native Sol's instagram I finally visited the shop and it was so so charming! The cashier was super friendly and this shop has the most unique and beautiful handmade items. I left with two earrings! I definitely will be back. Though 4th Street is home to many cute businesses, Native Sol is a place I make sure to visit every time I am on that street. Native Sol is owned by a woman designer of jewelry and upcycle fashion. You can find many one-of-a-kind items at her stores whether it is her jewelry, clothing or vintage line. Native Sol also carries art and merchandise from many local vendors and artists. You can find unique pieces, prints and art, all while supporting both a local business and local vendors. This shop is well-curated and though the shop is small, it is easy to spend so much time looking and finding gems. Pre-pandemic, Native Sol had art shows and a dj playing in-store during the art walks. Not only is this store supportive of other artists and small businesses, it is also supportive of the community, wanting to provide a welcoming environment for the shoppers. I'm not a frequent thrift store shopper for a variety of reasons from a bit curvy for most clothes (I'm a modern size 10, 36DD-30-40) and a profound lack of patience for drifting through racks, but the size and selection at Native Sol (they also carry some new pieces) and the non-overbearing customer service makes me a big fan of this shop. Almost every time I'm in Long Beach, I drop in, and I inevitably find 1-3 pieces I love, and they are always unique things I wouldn't have found elsewhere. The good: This is a cute and small shop that sells Native American, African, Hispanic/Mexican cultural items and gifts. They sell stuff like art, incense holders, handmade jewelry, dolls, plant hangers, and clothes. I found a Mexican doll here that was exactly like one I bought when I was in Mexico. They had some really beautiful and unique jewelry here. The prices were very fair. It's located on a street with lots of vintage little boutique shops. There is street parking only. The bad: I didn't know there was a 15% off with Yelp check-in offer until after I left. The interesting: They sell their stuff online thru their Etsy page. read more
