I'm going to start this off, with three words, Green Tea Wine. Yes I said it, a wine made only from green tea and no grapes. I was interested to see what that was like and it was pleasant on the palate and we ended up taking three bottles home at the price point of $17.99 a bottle. The pourer, sorry didn't get her name, but seemed like she was part of that owned it because she knew all about the wines. The other wines we tasted were very good as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was not the largest tasting room I had been in, but certainly not the smallest. Some seating inside and out on a patio[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. If you're coming from Greensboro, Winston-Salem, or Charlotte, the drive is an easy one -- less than an hour away and well worth the trip. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I chose a quiet fall weekend when no events were scheduled. The weekend hours are a bit longer, so it gave me time to relax and enjoy the full experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As soon as I walked through the door, I was warmly welcomed. Native Vines offers a customizable tasting where you can choose six wines from their list. I'm usually more of a semi-sweet wine drinker, but I decided to be adventurous and include two dry wines in my flight. My selections were: * * * * * * Dry wines: Indian Summer and Chief's Blend * * * * * * Semi-sweet wines: White Buffalo, Green Tea Wine, Raspberry Tea Wine, and Sangria Crackers were provided between tastings to cleanse the palate -- a thoughtful touch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The winery offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and there was even a food truck on-site for those wanting a bite to pair with their wine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My personal favorite was the Green Tea Wine -- light, refreshing, and pleasantly unexpected. I also loved Chief's Blend, a Cabernet Sauvignon with rich cherry and cocoa notes. In the end, I couldn't resist taking home bottles of the Green Tea Wine, Chief's Blend, and of course, the Sangria (because who can ever say no to Sangria?). Found this winery on Yelp. What drew my attention was the comment about the horse. There is one and it's awesome. Very friendly, it came up to the fence when I called it. The horse's name is Cody. So cool. The wines are good too. We bought the White Buffalo white wine. It's delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day. Service was good too, very friendly and informative. I've been coming to Native vines since around 2008 and it's been great to see the evolution of this winery. While I wouldn't necessarily categorize this as my favorite in the area, they've made a lot of improvements in the last few years, including additions to the property, such as a back patio and lawn area. They have a range of wines that skew to the sweet side (I'm more of a dry fan), but the dry reds they have are well priced sippers. The sangria is good for a party, and fans of sweeter wines will find a lot to enjoy in the apple, blackberry, and tea offerings. Really, I count this as a 3.5 stars given my palette, but I'm going four because of the nice people and focus on sweets. read more

Visited this winery for the first time today. I enjoyed the wine selection. The lady helping us was very nice and gave us a lot of Information on our choices. I do wish there were cheese and or chocolates to pair with the wine. There was limited seating when doing the wine tasting. The outdoor patio area was very relaxing although there were a few bees flying around on this particular day. Overall this was a good choice for a fun day out with family. read more

What you need to know: Native Vines is more of a low key winery, with a more family-feel. Expect to drive through a small neighborhood to get to the winery, don't expect a lot of space, and be ready for animals! Having lived in Winston-Salem for two summers, I always wanted to try the variety of wineries around the area, and finally got the chance to do so. Wine Tasting: The wine tasting was $10, so a little more than I thought it would be, but still cheaper than what I've experienced in North Georgia. You're allowed to sample 7 wines of choice (red, white, or mix and match) and if you're lucky they'll have a few seasonal wines that they'll let you try in addition to those 7! Their wine glasses are definitely less luxurious than you would normally get - stemless - but do the job fine. The ladies who helped us were super knowledgeable about the wines and were able to not only give their personal opinions, but also help us with our tastes so we could pick the right ones to try. Special shout-out to the Mediterranean crackers they have! Wines: Most of their wines are more on the sweet side. I like sweet wines so I wasn't complaining, but if you're more of a dry wine connosieur you probably won't find much to love here. Ambience: Overall, the place has a more homey feel than most wineries I've been to. Which makes sense as it's seemingly located in a residential neighborhood where the owners live. The patio was perfect for the sunny weather we got blessed with, and we even got to meet their dogs and cats that lived next door! Both of whom were super friendly (even though I'm sure they just wanted the crackers). Inside is cozy enough, and intimate due to the small space. They have plenty of nicknacks to buy and are fairly low key about everything they have. Overall, this was a nice quiet winery with decent wines and a few friendly creatures around. This winery is located in a rural area so the drive in was nice and quiet. It makes you reflect on the hustle and bustle of the city. When you turn off the main road, it is hard to tell if you're going to a winery or into someone's driveway, even with the sign. Once you arrive, you can tell someone lives near by with the house and cars. It's peaceful though. It's not as majestic as how you think other winery's would be but it has its own uniqueness-- a converted barn. Once inside, it is pretty chill. The decor is simple but nice. I love the saddles in the corner. We were immediately greeted by a woman who got us set up but later a younger woman continued our tasting. Both were very knowledgeable in their wines. There was an older dog sleeping behind the bar, which was cute. I really enjoyed the natural tastes of each wine and I didn't dislike any of them. I prefer sweet wines and none were disappointing. The crackers we got were Mediterranean flavored (can't remember the brand) and delicious. We did get glasses, a White Buffalo and Redhawk, to sit outside and relax. We were later greeted by smaller and older dog and a cat. Both of them were the sweetest things and eventually will leave you alone. I went on a mom's day out winery tour last weekend and Native Vines was our last stop and our FAVORITE! They had very creative wines that I had never tried like a Green Tea, so delicious. The owners were so friendly and understanding when we showed up later than expected because our limo driver got the order of wineries mixed up. You get to try 7 different wines for $10 and you get to keep your cute tasting glass! What a deal. They have pups on the vineyard walking around and the vibe is just super inviting and relaxed. We did not get to stay as long as we wanted as they were closing and our tour time was coming to an end. But we all felt right at home hanging out there and I will be back in the very near future with my husband and/or friends because I want them to see what a gem of a small winery we have right here in the triad! Today my family and I went to the Native Vines Winery and we had a horrible experience. As we walk through the door the owner (im guessing) asked us where we were from, we told him we were from Miami and then he stated "wow we have an invasion". We ignored the comment and continued to walk in. He then continued with rude comments and said that kids were not allowed as well as that it was too late to come in. We were rudely kicked out and felt extremely unwelcome. Needless to say it was the worst experience we have encountered and will not be returning read more

Darlene was incredibly friendly and made the tasting fun. The tasting room is definitely the most rustic one I've been to, but don't let the building put you off. The wines weren't the best I've ever had, but there were several we really enjoyed (particularly the white buffalo). There's a great range of wines from dry to semi-sweet to sweet. There's also some incredibly creative winemaking going on at native vines with stuff like the green tea wine. Native Vines is worth a stop for a tasting, especially if you enjoy/are open to semi-sweet to sweet wines and appreciate creativity. Pick up bottles of what you like too, since they sometimes sell out for extended periods of time and there's stuff here you won't see anywhere else. read more

So this is a unique place, back in the woods and with a horse in the back stable of the tasting room. We were greeted by two dogs, which was great, very friendly. The wines themselves were not great, but the staff were very friendly, and if you enjoy sweeter fruit wines, you might enjoy. They offered tastings of ~7 wines for $10 and you kept the glass, pretty standard. The dry reds were not terribly good. The Apple and Blackberry were decent, with generally good flavors and no real off-tastes. The chocolate, while it sounded good, did not deliver on the promised taste. We came to visit this winery because we were finishing the furniture market in High Point. We saw the advertising on the internet and thought it was good to support local Wineries. We did have a penske truck and is the same truck we took to several local wineries. All wineries were very welcoming and even recommended places to park. But this lady from native vines immediately when she saw us came to the parking and started screaming and insulting me and my boyfriend. Long story short the lady even walked to me and told me she was going to beat me up!!!! Many bad reviews have been written about this lady but we didn't know till after the incident. Not sure if they were just having a bad day? But our visit left something to be desired. Not unpleasant, but not relaxing or engaging, either. Unfortunately none of the wines we chose were very good, but in fairness we only sampled about half of the wines they sell. It's down a dirt road if you're seriously concerned about where you take your vehicle, but the road seems well maintained and presented us with no problems. read more
