Michael has a beautiful property! He's been thoughtful in his planning - even the grapevines are raised up so you can see them from the seating area. It feels like heaven on earth, relaxing....beautiful views and truly peaceful.

This is one of the best wineries in North Carolina. We love dry reds, and they have a great selection. We visited on 4/16/2022. The hostess was both knowledgeable and pleasant. The owner was there as well, and we enjoyed having the chance to speak with him to learn a little about the grapes and the history of the winery. We will definitely return.

A little bit of France nestled off of a country lane in Lexington, NC, Junius Lindsay Vineyard is worth stopping by. Michael Zimmerman, and the winery dog Bacchus, will be more than happy to share their love of wine with you. Michael, the grape grower, winery owner, and 'passionate about wine' proprietor built this winery on land that his grandfather was farming generations ago. Now, it is home to some French varietals like Syrah, Petit Syrah, and Viognier. The tasting room is reminiscent of an old Victorian train station and invites you to sit and enjoy a glass while gazing over the picturesque vineyards surrounding it. So, what about the wine? The wine is a miracle in NC. These are more French than typical of the region. The viognier, my favorite at this winery, is simply lovely. Michael doesn't overpower the grape. Instead, he ensures that the wine making process honors the aromatic nose and the dry mouth feel of this finicky grape. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. Tell Michael that I sent you. You're in for a treat. Oh, and give Bacchus a scratch behind the ears.

This past May just after returning from a 2 week river cruise in France, complete with many French wine pairings with our meals, we went with our family to the French-inspired Junius Lindsay Vineyard for a picnic lunch. We loved its location and outdoor tasting room! A beautiful breeze flowed through the shaded room as we gazed on lovely rows of nearby grapevines with rose bushes at the ends of the rows. The quiet location is tucked away from the road and behind a large field of corn which made it feel like our private retreat. As we ate our lunch, we basked in the lovely ambiance of the place while savoring a few of their French varietal wine offerings, particularly "Forget Me Not" and "Specialty Bubbly Rose." There were many other award winners to choose from but we'll save them for a return trip. I highly recommend this vineyard as the perfect little getaway place for spending a nice day. On Saturdays, they offer musical ensembles and performers to enjoy, too. What more can you ask for?

We came on a busy Saturday and the pourer said this was how it was when it was a race day down in Charlotte. People were bringing their little kids along with them to get their wine on before the race....yikes. The tasting room was nice as I said, large and full of wine to purchase and swag to buy. There were a number of different places in the tasting room (building), I think I counted five places you in different parts of the building you could taste wine. There is a bistro in a separate building, it seemed okay, we didn't get food. The wine was decent, but not stellar, so that is the four instead of five star from me. Worth a visit if you're heading up or down to Charlotte or just are in the area.

I was interested to see what that was like and it was pleasant on the palate and we ended up taking three bottles home at the price point of $17.99 a bottle. The pourer, sorry didn't get her name, but seemed like she was part of that owned it because she knew all about the wines. The other wines we tasted were very good as well. It was not the largest tasting room I had been in, but certainly not the smallest. Some seating inside and out on a patio. There was a private event there and it was raining so we didn't go pet the "friendliest" horse that is noted in other reviews. Good stuff and very unique.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Native Vines Winery, the first American Indian-owned winery in the United States. If you're coming from Greensboro, Winston-Salem, or Charlotte, the drive is an easy one -- less than an hour away and well worth the trip. I chose a quiet fall weekend when no events were scheduled. The weekend hours are a bit longer, so it gave me time to relax and enjoy the full experience. As soon as I walked through the door, I was warmly welcomed. Native Vines offers a customizable tasting where you can choose six wines from their list. I'm usually more of a semi-sweet wine drinker, but I decided to be adventurous and include two dry wines in my flight. My selections were: * * * * * * Dry wines: Indian Summer and Chief's Blend * * * * * * Semi-sweet wines: White Buffalo, Green Tea Wine, Raspberry Tea Wine, and Sangria Crackers were provided between tastings to cleanse the palate -- a thoughtful touch. The winery offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and there was even a food truck on-site for those wanting a bite to pair with their wine. My personal favorite was the Green Tea Wine -- light, refreshing, and pleasantly unexpected. I also loved Chief's Blend, a Cabernet Sauvignon with rich cherry and cocoa notes. In the end, I couldn't resist taking home bottles of the Green Tea Wine, Chief's Blend, and of course, the Sangria (because who can ever say no to Sangria?). I'm already planning my next visit -- hopefully on a day when they're hosting one of their lively events. If you're looking for a laid-back winery experience with a unique cultural story, Native Vines is absolutely worth the trip.

It seemed they had a pretty extensive list of wines to choose from. They had a large, spacious indoor area for sitting, but also a lot of outdoor space and a medium sized covered patio with fans to help with the heat. The woman working the bar was very friendly and I heard her making a number of recommendations. Personally I'm not a wine drinker, but they did also have a small selection of beers to pick from as well We had a great visit and I'd go back to enjoy a nice day, maybe when the weather begins to cool, at least a little

Everyone I was with ended up going for the flight and they brought them out pretty quickly despite being really busy on a Sunday afternoon. The flights might be a little small but the price was pretty affordable so it was worth it in my opinion. There's plenty of outside tables and there's a few tables inside. There's also a cute store inside with some local products. I personally love dessert wine so I love the variety of dessert wines they have. Every wine I tried was really good though. They did come around & ask if we wanted to join the wine club and gave us a sample of a club exclusive wine, but they weren't pushy at all when we said we weren't interested in joining. We also had a charcuterie board which I wish I took a picture of. It was delicious - it had cheese, crackers, olives, chocolate covered pomegranates (I think), and I'm sure I'm forgetting something else. Overall, a really enjoyable place to go with friends or a nice date spot! They seem to have a lot of good events worth checking out too.
