A very good rye from Natural 20!
    Alden C.

There was a little bit of confusion getting into Natural 20 going off of the Google hours posted for them and their actual hours so we had to be patient and return later to try their beer. And I'm glad we did go back! We were doing a "shopping spree " of the Spokane area buying bottles, cans, samples and having a pint or two along the way of breweries we never visited before. The very first beer we had and my favorite out of the three we purchased was the Serious Gourmet Sh!t White Stout. It was a stout on nitro and already highly unique because you don't see white stouts much at all. It was very similar to having a caramel macchiato as it had the caramel, coffee and vanilla notes to it. So terribly good! We got two other beers to go. The Khazad was a Scottish Ale which was pretty solid. Not super strong with the scotch aspect but I don't see that very often with scotch ales but that's my usual preferred route for that beer is to have a very strong one. The next one was Natural 20's Rye ale. Now that one I really liked a lot as it did have a bready flavor balanced with that rye bitterness a good version of this beet should have. But after all that my experience with Natural 20 didn't come to an end. I spotted a great looking Natural 20 gray hoodie that a staff member had with a dragon on it. I usually know and have learned to inquire about the swag if I'm not a frequent customer but we still had many stops to go and I let it go. My fondness for this hoodie grew and was hoping it was shipable and not discontinued (to my credit I did not see the hoodie with the t shirts that they had out so I thought it may have been a discontinued design) and the owners replied saying they did have that very hoodie still, in my size and yes.... they could ship it to me! I was so delighted to have gotten it in the mail and really wanted to thank Natural 20 for going the extra mile to ship it to me. I normally pursue these things as I see them but I guess the pressure of numerous stops held me back but it all concluded on a positive note so five stars for Natural 20!

Neat little place. I tried the NW IPA and Khazad. Friendly staff. I'll be back with my husband and friends soon. It's the Khazad because it went down easier than the IPA. The Scottish is . Really go

Amazing atmosphere, great bartender, great music selection. I like it a lot. I have played DnD since I was a mere child. The fact they used a reference for their logo/company name makes me happy DnD is being normalized. I love coming here they also have a great board game selection. I highly recommend their pretzels and specifically their "flying bison" ipa. It is the yummiest of ipas this side of Spokane.

Awful! Previous owners had awesome food and great beers. Now the food is horrible and beers are not good. I will not be returning.

I don't hand out compliments easily. Usually I walk into places ready to snort, judge everyone…read moresilently, and knock over patio furniture if the vibe is weak. But Badass Backyard Brewing? Absolute pasture-approved excellence. First off, the name says 'Badass,' and for once it's not false advertising. Most places slap edgy words on the sign and then serve beer that tastes like somebody filtered rainwater through a flip-flop. Not here. The beer actually has personality. Bold flavors, small-batch attitude, and enough variety that even a 2,000-pound bovine with anger issues can find a favorite. The atmosphere? Perfect. Cozy, chill, unapologetically local, and zero pretentious craft beer nonsense. Nobody in there is trying to explain 'notes of elderberry with a whisper of regret.' They just hand you a great beer and let you enjoy life like civilized savages. Also, respect to the fact this place started as an actual backyard brewing operation. That's the kind of origin story I can get behind. No corporate boardroom. No focus-grouped IPA names. Just straight-up badass energy and good beer. Wanderlog And let me say this as "no-bull": if your brewery is dog friendly, has live music, rotating taps, and encourages people to relax instead of acting like beer sommeliers defending a PhD thesis... you're doing it right. Final verdict: 5 out of 5 horns. Would absolutely charge through a fence to drink here again." -Mad Cow

Even if the beer was bad, you might still come here just for the vibe. Added bonus is that the beer IS good. We had a very solid IPA & coffee stout There was an odd experience of someone pulling into the parking lot, coming inside to use the restroom, then proceeding to cordially ask each table if they could spare $10 for gas money. Each table refused, she thanked everyone and left. Possibly a testimony to how welcoming the place appears.

Moo. This cow enjoys grazing at Bardic Brewing. It's a family-friendly brewpub in Spokane Valley…read morewith thoughtful craft drinks, good food, and a calm pasture where conversations don't have to compete with loud music or glowing TV screens. When this cow wanders in, there might be stouts being slowly savored near the fireplace, humans discussing ancient literature, a family laughing over a half-finished pizza, or a nearby table deep into a heated game of Magic the Gathering with ESBs and cider in hoof. It's cozy, communal, and usually feels just right. One thing this cow respects -- the beer here is strong, and it's not brewed for the weak. There's nothing on tap that isn't unique or intentional. That said, this also means Bardic isn't for everyone. The average beer drinker looking for a simple, easy-drinking West Coast IPA that isn't pushing 9% ABV may leave unsatisfied, and that likely eliminates a large portion of beer drinkers in the area. For adventurous palates, though, this place is a treat. Lately, this cow has noticed the welcome hasn't been quite as warm as it used to be. The beer and food remain excellent, but the last few visits felt a bit less friendly. A smile or a greeting would go a long way in restoring the inviting feel this pasture is known for. Nothing has soured, and this cow will return. I just hope the hospitality rises to match the boldness of the beer and the heart of the space -- because when it does, Bardic Brewing is a fantastic place to graze. Moo.

I ordered the Fig Sandwich and the Fancy Pants Sando because I could not decide between the two as they both sounded very unique in different ways. I called the place up and arranged to come pick the food up. The person on the phone was very thoughtful in keeping in mind at what time I would arrive so he could arrange for the sandwich to be toasted at the right time. I appreciate small details like that. When I arrived, I noticed there were several tables and a bar where you can essentially get brews and food. I noticed they had several beers on tap which I was very curious about, but unfortunately did not have time to sit down and eat at this establishment. The person at the bar was extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome. The two sandwiches came up to $40ish. I brought the sandwiches home and first tried a few bites of the Fancy Pants Sando. I will have to say it was the better of the two sandwiches. I appreciated the goat cheese in the sandwich and the mix of different ingredients, but it was not something I would consider to be a great sandwich, at least not for me. Others might find it pleasant, but I did not care for it much. The fig sandwich was the one I was more excited about and expected some sweetness to be cut down by the bacon. I don't think it was a perfect balance between the two, and I got a tad much of the overwhelming sweetness of the figs in this sandwich. Again, others might enjoy it, but I didn't care for it. I really wanted to give this place a great review, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The beer looks fun though and might be a good reason to give this place a try, and you may enjoy their sandwiches and many people have. For me, that's a no-go.

The Castor Muncher Coffee Kolsch was easily our favorite and was such a treat to have! Light and airy to drink just like how a kolsch is this version also has coffee notes to it which just made it out of this world! The other beer was the GenusTone. A lager which is practically my "go to" beer for anything anymore. This lager didn't disappoint and was great to drink... teasing the temptation to have more than one!
