I found this place on ClassPass and I'm so glad I gave them a try! As you can see from the Yelp reviews, this family-owned business has been beloved for the past 15 years. Parking on a Wednesday at noon was very tough - luckily I pulled into a spot that was JUST vacated. I thought it was going to be very difficult to find the spa since there's many businesses in the building but I found it quite quickly. It's on the ground level and has "Natural Illumination" written on the window. I was greeted right away and stepped into a soothing waiting area with plants, a water cooler, essential oils and meditative music. Once Jen whisked me away to the facial room, I was surprised to see a cute little creek running outside with lots of greenery. Who knew this was here!? Such a beautiful oasis and a lovely soundtrack to go with the spa music. The facial itself was divine. I enjoyed a Dermaplane, Microdermabrasion & Facial treatment the week of my wedding to fully expose my bridal glow. And let me tell you, Jennifer worked wonders! I love all things skincare and especially all natural products. That's what drew me to Natural Illumination initially. Deemaplane is fantastic as she can really remove all the hard to reach spots for peach fuzz. It makes your skin look so smooth and tight. Microdermabrasion removes dead skins. There is an extraction process that is slightly uncomfortable but if you need that gunk removed this is a safe way to do so! The facial left me refreshed and ready to shine. I highly recommend it here. Very comfortable. Park in the back of the lot, it's right past fashion island behind the cinema there. Jennifer was outstanding when it came to scheduling the appointment. Jen is amazing! A couple of years ago my skin was having some issues that needed more than just my regular facials. I found Jen through a deal online for a micro and peel combo. I wasn't really sure what to expect because I've had micros before with little results. I think Jen's machine has magical powers because after my first visit, my skin saw a major improvement in clarity. I visit regularly now for the micro and peel facial and the results are always amazing! Jen is very meticulous, doesn't not cut corners and offers great advice for taking care of your skin at home. I have been going to Jen for dermaplane for a while now. I love having dermaplane done because it helps unclog all my pores and it makes my skin look really smooth. Not to mention the nice glow it gives. It has helped improve my skin significantly over time. I also love that it removes all the hair on my face, making my makeup look great!! Bought a Groupon for Microdermabrasion and facial. It is true that the place is tucked away in a business complex in Fashion Island, but not difficult to find. The name is clearly marked outside the building. I agree with everyone else that Jennifer is very warm, nice and welcoming. The place is clean, welcoming and cute inside. She had me take off my shoes, bra and tshirt and get under the blanket... I thought it was a little odd that she asked me to take of my bar and tshirt.... but I thought ok... maybe she just doesnt want to get anything on me.... I did as I was told and got under the blanket. My to my (pleasant) surprise, she had an electric blanket on under there. YAY! It was so warm and nice! Especially since its been a cold winter! Since it was my first time getting mirco, she explained the process, what it felt like and what it does for your skin.... The micro part lasted only a few minutes. She spent the rest of the time on the facial which I really enjoyed. All her products smelled sooooo good. Not sure what brand/line she uses... I didnt ask. There were several steps and one was putting a mask on and wrapping my face in a warm towel.... while that was sitting, she did a massage on my shoulders, arms and hands..... (Now it made sense why she asked me to take off my bra and tshirt, LOL) The whole experience was was really calming and relaxing. My only issue is that she didnt give me any after care instructions. Thus, 4 stars instead of 5.... I went online and read about what to expect my skin to be like over the next week and what to do. All in all, it was worth it and I was glad I bought the Groupon. read more

I came in last weekend for some post holiday skin pampering from Lindsay. I have been to tons of places for facials over the years and getting a facial is like hitting up a singles bar...sometimes you get lucky, other times you strike OUT. Lindsay gave me a great facial, with a great hand and neck massage, so relaxing and calming and she also gave me a great eyebrow wax. I've had facials where I have actually wondering if the person has fallen asleep...I'm not kidding. Once I was lying on the table with my eyes covered...I heard no movement from the facialist for the longest time. I was starting to get scared...what happened...like did she pass out or something? Do I need to call 911? Other times I have actually heard people texting while I'm lying on the table. None of those sorts of shenanigans happened with Lindsay...so I will be back! read more

Natural Illumination and Jen are extraordinary! I've been going to her regularly after finding her on a Living Social deal a couple years ago when she was located in Corona Del Mar. I've struggled with my skin all my life, so I've been getting facial treatments, going to the dermatologist, using topical antibiotics, doing anything and everything, and nothing has come close to the miracles Jen has done to my skin. Before Jen, I opted for facials that were more invasive than relaxing but Jen can maximize both and caters to whatever your needs are! The facial peels are a perfect combo to the microderm and the vitamin-enriched mist at the end is so refreshing and smells great. Jen's demeanor is professional and sweet. She listens to your needs and really cares about your results. She's given me recommendations for my skin regimen that have been extremely helpful! I (24 y/o female) was referred to Natural Illumination by my mom. At the time, I started experiencing break outs along my jawline, neck, and cheek area. I don't know what caused it. It just happened one day, and it kept getting worse for about a year until I decided to get it professionally treated. I've been going once every ~6 weeks for the past 6 months. The treatment I've been getting includes a microdermabrasion and peel combo, and it takes an hour. During my first treatment, Jen explained every product and procedure and their purposes, which was really helpful because I had no idea what was going on. I started noticing a difference in my skin about a week later. My existing acne started clearing up and left fewer, less prominent scars than did my previous acne. During the next few weeks, I also didn't break out as much either. This was the trend that I continued to experience after each treatment. Right now, my skin is doing very well. I still get some acne periodically, but I don't get intense, overly grotesque break outs, like I did before I first started getting treatments. My previous scars have also been clearing up. So I bought a discount deal off groupon or travelzoo or something... $40 for microdermabrasion. First off when I tried to book my appt they had no openings for 3 months. I was a little suprised but put it on the calender for December. When it was finally time for my appt I could not find the place. They are tucked in a little corner with virtually no sign out front. I called the number in my confirmation email 5 times and nobody answered. I nearly gave up, but then asked the mail carrier where the address was. When I got there the girl was extremely nice but I was not impressed with the place. Small and dreary are what come to mind. Regardless I was ready to relax and get the most out of my $40. About half way through the session the girl knocked the lamp over and it landed on my face. She had a towel over my eyes so it absorbed some of the impact, but since I couldnt see anything it took me by complete surprise. Needless to say that ruined my relaxation, I was completely on alert now. She laughed and apologized and asked if I was ok, said she never had done something like that before. I let her know that I was not injured, but I was far from happy. She continued with her process and was pleasant for the most part, but I would have expected her to take hitting her customer in the head a bit more seriously. I recently entered my 30th year in life so I figured it was about time for me to start worrying about my face (#wrinklesaretheenemy). Lindsey was just the woman for the job. She is AMAZING. Not only was she super cute, friendly, and funny, she is incredibly professional and REALLY knows what she is doing. She plays soothing music as she conducts the facial and massages your shoulders, arms, and neck.. and I must say she has strong hands for such a small person! I walked out of there feeling (as Outkast would say) so fresh, and so clean! Not to mention the products she used specifically for my skin were PERFECT. I had no breakouts whatsoever. Loved it so much I didn't waste any time booking another appointment. I got my first one on a groupon but have no problem paying full price. Oh and I have to recommend the microdermabrasion. Totally worth it! I also go to her for my Brazilians and let me tell ya.... I have gone to others in the past to get my lady parts nice and smooth... and let me tell ya... those others have all been put to shame by Lindsey's skill. Women who have had Brazilian waxes in the past all know, they can be quite uncomfortable if you don't go to the right person. Well, now you have the right person. I don't write too many reviews however I thought I would share my experience with Jen and Natural Illumination. I followed Jen over from her previous place (which was MUCH smaller and not the same ambience) in Corona Del Mar. I found the place on one of the Living Social sites and it completely exceeded my expectations. Not only is Jen sweet and welcoming, she took the time to really understand what was going on with my horrible breakouts at the time. My experience with Jen and her services has been nothing but amazing, she has transformed my skin. I went through cystic acne and major adult acne, something I've been fighting for about 4-5 years now. This is the first time I've seen results with the microdermabrasion and peels. She worked a combo that really helps my skin. I could literally call her on a Monday and say "I need you to fix my skin by Friday" and believe me, SHE DID!!! I don't know about the lamp experience below, but I've been seeing Jen since June 2011 or so and that has NEVER happened and to be honest, accidents DO happen, we're all human. Okay, so first, Jenifer is the sweetest and most sincere lady I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She is so wonderful and works miracles. Her spa has a peaceful, relaxing, and serene atmosphere that will put you to sleep while you're being pampered. Now I have suffered with severe acne for the past 11 years, I am 20 and started breaking out around age 9. I have tried countless, treatments, medications, prescriptions, face washes, scrubs, lotions, and other facials. Sometimes products started to work but never continued to work. I have never experienced such consistent results with my acne as I have since going to Jen.
