It was my first time here and I got a facial, arm and underarm wax. I was new to the sugaring process so I was really excited to try something new, especially since it claims to be less painful. I would disagree, I think the pain level is about the same as waxing. If anything, waxing does a better job of removing hair than sugaring and is faster. The only difference is that waxing is really hot right when it touches the skin but that quickly goes away. I walked away with some random spots of hair on my arms that were missed and I don't know if that was due to the sugaring process or just lack of attention to detail. I noticed it too late so it wasn't worth coming back. Also, I normally get some red bumps after waxing and I got those again today (they go away after a couple of hours) so I don't think sugaring is any better than waxing. As for the facial, it was good but I haven't ever gotten one before so I can't really compare. I did leave with my skin feeling really soft and slightly red, but I think thats normal with a facial. Overall, it was a good place to try out but I don't think I would come back here for sugaring. I would come back for a facial though read more

Thanks to Skin So Sweet and Groupon, I can now add "customized facials" to the list of things I never even knew my life was missing. I had Amy as my esthetician and she was wonderful. I told her up front that this was my first facial, so she walked me through each step of the process as she performed it. Other than that, chatting was minimal and she didn't push a single product on me (perhaps it was because I told her I use Trader Joe's moisturizer? That probably shocked her system). The treatment itself was completely luxurious and left my face newly re-hydrated. I wasn't sure what to expect as to results, but this AM my face didn't dry up like the Mojave the second I exited the shower so I guess it's still hydrated, which is good right? Also - I LOVED the bonus neck/shoulder/arm/hand massage that's included with the facial. Just a word on the facility itself: This place is literally one room. There's no need to show up early for your appointment because you'll find yourself waiting in the parking lot staring at a door tastefully marked as "occupied" with a nice ribbon, much like your college roommate would do when she was shacking up with someone in your shared space. Once inside however, it's the perfect intimate space for a spa treatment. The fact that there is no foot traffic outside your door, or voices coming from up and down the halls, amplifies the intimacy and luxury of the treatment you receive. I enjoyed this treatment so much that I fully plan on returning to pay the full price ($95 + tip) for this treatment on a semi-regular basis. read more

OH Groupon how I HEART thee! I found Skin So Sweet via Groupon and was not disappointed. Thank you Dylan for making a necessary but often uncomfortable procedure much less painful. I love sugaring so much more than the alternative. And let me just say we have ALL been to those shops that are not so sanitary. Seriously, the last place I went to the lady did not wear gloves....I was mortified and that was the last time I ever went in for any kind of service. That was until I found Skin So Sweet! Skin So Sweet is clean & professional. And by clean I mean all points of sanitary. Their estheticians wear gloves, the beds and towels are fresh. If it wasn't for Groupon, I would've never found this wonderful place and Chas! I got the 1-hour customized facial done by Chas on 12/4 and I felt like I was in heaven, especially after the shoulder and neck massage! The warm gloves were a plus! I was a bit concerned about trying out a new place just one week before my wedding and since my skin is uber sensitive, but she was extremely knowledgeable about skin, skin care/regimen, and various products that they use. She was also very honest about their product line, which I appreciated. She also demo'd the sugaring process on my arm, which didn't feel painful. It's a cute one bedroom with a changing room/bathroom where you first change into a shower wrap, so you have the whole place to yourself. The only strange thing was when I ran my fingers through my face a few hours later, my nails collected some unknown brown substance. She didn't use a sunblock so I'm not sure what that can be, but it didn't bother me much. I just washed my face with my regular cleanser and my fiance said my face was glowing afterwards! Ok, so I am beyond obsessed with Sweet Skin CdM. I love it so much that I debated for months about posting on Yelp because I love having this hidden little gem all to myself. Buttt, the girls at the studio are just so sweet and amazing that it's only fair to boost their stars on Yelp and give them a review. I have been coming to Sweet Skin since it was "Skin So Sweet!" I love the owner of Sweet Skin, Juliann. She is just adorable and always accommodating. I have been coming to Julianne for bikini sugaring for over a year and I just adore her. She is really friendly and makes you feel super comfortable. She is well trained in sugaring and my results always last double the time compared to waxing. I have extremely sensitive skin and cannot wax anymore, so after I found Sweet Skin and experienced sugaring, I will never wax or thread ever again. It doesn't irritate my skin like wax does and removes the entire hair without breaking them at the skin. A month ago I took a "first available" appointment for bikini sugaring and had Dominique. I just loveeee her! She is the daughter of Juliann (owner), so she is trained by the best of the best. She gets all of the tiny hairs and ingrown, she's seriously amazing. She's super sweet and easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable, just like her mom! She also taught me the best trick to reduce ingrowns: moisturize the area with coconut oil! I also use PFB roll-on ingrown reducer per her suggestion and I seriously never have ingrowns anymore. I have never had a negative experience of any kind as Sweet Skin. Everyone I've been sugared by is very professional and sweet and I love that the girls never push products or force you to do anything you don't want. I love that they're local and even have a little mother daughter duo in the studio! When it comes to sugaring, all of the estheticians at Sweet Skin know their stuff, they are the real deal! I went here because I was told by my cousin that sugaring is more effective (and painless) than waxing. She was right! Found a groupon for 2 (lady part) sugaring sessions, which is why I gave it a go and went to the Corona Del Mar location. It was the best decision I ever made in a long time. I've gotten it done 3 times already and will never go back to Brazilian waxing ever again after having experienced sugaring. I don't think anyone else should either. I saw 2 different sugaring experts during my 3 visits and they were both amazing! They made me feel extremely comfortable. I just had my first sugaring experience today due to Groupon (thank you so much) with Julie. I absolutely loved the whole experience minus the fact that getting a PlayBoy Style Brazilian isn't exactly painless, but it was so much better than getting waxed. The place is so cute right off of Heliotrope in Corona del Mar; next to the Coffee Bean. It's a one bedroom and very cozy and comfortable. The decorations in the room are adorable and you really feel safe in that space. When I got there I met Julie and right away she was extremely personable and sweet. I felt very comfortable with her and wasn't nervous at all about it. She explained to me how it all worked and was very attentive. I could tell that she really pays attention to each individual as a persona and not just as a customer. It was still painful cause they pull the hair out which is normal, but I will never go back to waxing because this was so much easier and it doesn't stick to everything and pull off your skin. The sugaring substance is organic and only adheres to dead cells: hair. After the sugaring she used this myrrh spray that is a natural anti-inflammatory. And also a lotion with myrrh in it as well. There was no mess and no sanitation problems. She throws away each molt of sugaring past as she needs to along with the pair of gloves she was using. I booked my next appointment today and am completely thrilled and happy with my results. My mom also had Julie a few days a go because I mentioned she should try it and she said she will never go back to waxing again. They also offer other hair removal services, facials, and make up services. The prices are worth it because the customer service you're getting is worth even more. read more

I have no complaints about this place whatsoever! Like everyone else, I got a deal for a bikini sugaring on Groupon (total steal). This place is very hidden and small. One customer at a time which I respect. They have a room with the front desk the table I lay on. Other room had a washing machine. Filled out some paper and then I stripped. I really hoped she locked that door though. If she didn't, whoever chooses to walk in would get an eye-ful. Amy was amazing. Super friendly and helpful. She kept conversation with me so that took my mind off of the pain that she was inflicting on me. Sugaring was amazing because it was warm and it didn't hurt as much as I expected. I really did expect the worse and for me to cry bloody murder. Whole process only lasted 30 mins. Nice.... After process was done, you get a nice set of panties. I had my first ever wax/sugar hair removal experience the last week of December. Prior to this appointment I had undergone laser, electrolysis, etc. - pretty much everything but waxing or sugaring. I was referred to Sweet Skin by a good girl friend and I am SO glad she sent me their way. My appointment was with Dominque and she was amazing! After explaining that it was my first time, she made sure to talk me through every step of the process (which I loved personally). Now in regards to the actual sugaring experience - I love it! Well as much as one can love having their hair yanked out. I really liked that it isn't the scalding hot experience that I hear comes from waxing and the regrowth has been minimal compared to shaving (yay!). Amy is awesome. I am new to sugaring and she's turned me into a fan! The process involves a ball of warm sugar... same ball is used throughout the process - never "re-dipped". Compared to waxing - it's less painful, but only slightly (hey - anything counts, right)? The salon is very quaint - just one room... if you arrive early - you'll find yourself waiting in your car. I have been going here for about 2 years now and I LOVE it! I used to get waxed regularly and coming from someone who has very sensitive skin, I was never ecstatic about my results because it still gave me some irritation, bumps and ingrown hairs- yet, it was much better than the alternative of shaving. I had heard about sugaring and so I decided to do some research and stumbled upon Skin So Sweet. My first time I met Jules, the owner. I absolutely love her! She made me feel so comfortable and spent the whole time chatting with me. She informed me about sugaring and why it's better than waxing. The ingredients are all natural, hence better for your skin. The "sugar" seeps into your pores, pulling from the root up and decreasing chances of ingrowns and it pulls in the same direction that your hair grows, also reducing chance of ingrowns AND any irritation. I 100% agree with all of this after being a regular "sugar-er"! So much better than waxing, results last longer and it is much less painful. I have never had any irritation or ingrowns and have never left unsatisfied! Never thought I'd see the day where I had a completely smooth bikini line, so I'm thrilled! Today I had my first sugaring appointment with Amy, and I am beyond happy with the results. I have never gotten waxed or sugared before and was a little nervous. I expressed my concerns and Amy immediately put me at ease. I won't lie, getting your bikini area done hurts in the moment. When I needed a few seconds breather Amy was very understanding and encouraging. I have been told the first time is the worst and that it gets less painful each time. As I said earlier I am thrilled with the results and have booked my second appointment. I highly recommend Sweet Skin Studio CDM for anyone wishing to get sugared. The salon is very private (one client allowed in at a time) and is very clean. They are a bit on the pricey side, but it's worth it. They do quality work and you also have to take into account the location, CDM isn't cheap. I Hope this helps anyone considering using them in the future. read more

LOVE LOVE Sugaring!! I've been getting hard waxes since they last longer than regular wax but I've gotten burned a couple times which is NOT fun. I was looking around for another salon to get hard wax (I was hoping I wouldn't get burned again) but then came across Sugaring. I called a couple places, one of them Skin So Sweet (they had a great website with video testimonial and good info) and left a message asking more about Sugaring process. Skin So Sweet was the only who called me back personally so I decided to make an appointment. I went to Corona Del Mar location and it's a small, but nicely decorated and clean room. I met with Amy who immediately was VERY friendly and treated me as if we'd always known each other. She listened to my concerns about waxing (and getting burned with hard was) and explained everything to me while she was working. I got a brazilian (which I usually get) and honestly it didn't hurt as much as hard waxing. It took about 30 minutes or so and I was pleased with results! Pros: The sugaring was not hot all, as Amy and the website stated, and she used the same ball of sugar for the whole process - so no double dipping or anything like that. WAY more effective than hard wax. It doesn't burn, very sanitary, and it was about 6 weeks before any hair really grew back! It's been about 3 months and I'm going to go back next week! I highly recommend Amy - her friendliness and professionalism makes her stand out from past aestheticians I've had. read more

This review is for the new Huntington Beach location at Warner Ave and Bolsa Chica. From the outside, the plaza looks a little homey but the inside of the salon is decorated great and is new, trendy, and clean. I have had sugaring hair removal done here twice and both times, it has been a great experience. The first time I saw Melissa and the second I saw Rachael, both esticians have been sugaring for about 3 years or so. Each time I made appointments the day off and they got me in right away. Yes, sugaring does hurt but it is very bearable and the results are worth it! I have heard that it is much less painful then waxing but I have never waxed so I can't compare the two. I take an Advil or two about 30 minutes before which helps but a glass of wine really makes it a breeze! Even though sugaring is a little pricey, they really work with you there. The special that they have going right now is 10% off your first treatment and $5 off each time you refer a friend. So for a full Brazilian it is $60 and after 10% off its $50 so I think it is reasonable for the service. read more

Super friendly, super knowledgeable and NOT pushy with dictating what expensive skin product lines I MUST purchase and use to be beautiful. My facial was extremely comprehensive and thorough. Amy deep steamed, cleansed, extracted and gave me a vegetable mask to exfoliate my facial skin in the days to come. I love Skin So Sweet! I found out about them through groupon. I tried sugaring for the first time at the HB location, Dillan worked on me. The results were awesome and lasted longer than waxing. I went back for my second time to the Corona Del Mar location because its closer to my home and was worked on by Amy. She was the best! I had never gotten my legs sugared or waxed before, but I have gone to other salons to get my eyebrows done, and I would have to say that this is a much more pleasurable experience! The salon is small, quaint and adorable! I personally would love my room to look and smell as relaxing as their salon does. I chose Sweet Skin Studio as it was recommended by a dear friend of mine, and she also directed me to make an appointment with Julie, so her and I decided to go together and book appointments back to back (as it was my fist time). As there is not a waiting room, I was able to sit and gab with the ladies and my friend, I was not only offered water and a variety of teas, but some great girl talk. They let me know that the air conditioning unit they had in place was new (always a plus in so-cal!) and it made the room feel great. When it was my turn, I hopped up on their extremely comfortable table, and I could have almost fallen asleep. Julie was great, and treated me as she had just treated me friend. She let me know that since it was my first time, if I needed a break, that she would gladly let me have a rest. She ended up getting a lot more hairs than she expected (as I had previously waxed my legs this summer on my own, so my hair was a bit patchy growing in!) and my legs feel as smooth as ever almost a week later. I however did not need a rest during the session, and when I was done, she properly cleaned and powdered my legs to help the irritation and make sure all the sugar was off. To sum up my experience, it felt like a great hair salon experience. Not only was I treated amazingly well, but I loved the social aspect and relaxing environment. I'm glad to know that when I need my legs done again, I won't have to question where to go anymore, because I will gladly go back to Julie! read more

Agree with Audrey! I loved this place! Amy did my bikini line and was so sweet and kind. The location was clean and cute and felt rather homey. Sugar still hurts like waxing, but I felt like it got more of the hair and was a bit quicker and there wasn't as much with the anticipation of pain. It felt a bit like she was massaging, calming me then the hair removal, so I wasn't as anxious as I usually am with waxing. My skin seems better and doesn't have anything wax left behind. I dunno, overall a great place. Too bad I live so dang far away, cause the gas almost cost me more than my tip just to get there and back.... so, my suggestion is they open a store in San Clemente so I can go every 3 weeks read more
