Great consultation prior to the process as to what my goal was. I appreciate the recommendation to go lighter on the face than the rest of the body. The color came out even and gorgeous medium golden tan, which was perfect for my complexion. Whole process effortless (at least for me)! I had no areas of discoloration as the instructions prior to, during, and after the spray tan helped educate me so I could get the most out of my tan. Service was fine, but I could never recommend this studio. It felt money hungry with the several stalls and, while I appreciate quick service, forcing sessions in 20 minute increments basically speaks for itself. Additionally, at the end I felt pressured to pay far more than the service was worth. If you don't want to pay $200 for a wax I would not come here. I highly, highly recommend Bee Sugared or Sugar Bare OC if you want a lovely experience at a reasonable price. I can definitely say coming to Sugar + Bronzed has made me more appreciative of my other waxing studios. read more

I love coming to sugared and bronzed to get my brazilian. The staff really work hard to make sure the appointment goes as fast and as smoothly as possible. Upon checking in, they give you the space in the room to get yourself privately ready for the appointment. Then once the sugarist comes in and starts sugaring, they try to make it as fast and pain free as possible. They apply powder throughout the process and a cold towel afterwards. For special occasion tanning needs I used to go to Sugared + Bronzed when it was first located at the corner of PCH & Goldenrod. And just today was my first time going to the new location in nearby Corona del Mar Plaza. I had an excellent experience today just as I always had previously. Easy check in, Madison was great...and I know I will be very happy with the results once it develops. My only reason for giving a 4 vs a 5 is the "auto tipping"...Not that I have an issue with an 18% tip for a job well done, but since I had signed up for a Membership and my spray an was $49 vs $69 I would have expected the tip to be 18% of $49. Instead (when I got home and viewed my emailed receipt) my credit card on file was charged $12.42 for the tip (so 18% of $69). That to me just doesn't seem right. I called and it was rectified, but I'm annoyed that I needed to do that -- I just feel that is over reaching if an "auto-tip" policy is in place. And the way it's done is not as transparent as it should be. I of course plan to go back and continue my Membership, but I think this part of their Service could be improved... read more

Spray tans don't last and look muddy not glowy. The scent doesn't smell good at all. It's a waste of money.

I was a customer of sugared and bronzed for several years then stopped going when life got busy (kids, husband, work, friends....). I've recently started going again and am so glad to be back! Their corporate training program must be well structured - I've visited two locations (Dana Point and Newport) and the sugaring process/technique at each place was consistent. They are efficient! I waxed for years at a different salon and sugaring is SO much better for my skin! Slightly Less painful and definitely less abrasive than wax. The booking system is easy to use and I love the efficient appts. Employees are generally nice and aestheticians have good bedside manner (we are in a pretty exposed position during appts after all). Would also note I have a monthly membership. The only call out is the tipping system. I think it is odd they do automatic gratuity of 18%. I tip anyway but auto tipping took some getting used to. read more
