We recently bought a new home and needed the whole backyard and fence completed. Originally we were operating with another business but after being bumped 3 times (8 weeks) without being given a firm date, we sought out help and NATURAL LANDSCAPING & DESIGN came out on top. Henry and his crew did an amazing job and was able to start the job within 1 week of talking to him. Work completed was fence, concrete walkway, yard, sprinklers, rocks, and plants/trees. I've used NLD the past two years now and I couldn't be more pleased with the work done by Mr. Nguyen. I've been in my home for 10+ years and have struggled every year to keep my southwest facing front lawn healthy. After the past couple of summers with draught conditions and high water bills from running the sprinklers, I decided to see about removing parts of my lawn and replacing it with draught tolerant, native plants and rockscaping. Mr. Nguyen was very responsive responding to my calls and emails to him and was able to accomodate my schedule to vist and provide his opinions and pricing for the work (I received a couple of companies asking me to send pictures and they would email me a quote). He was able to take my rough ideas of what I wanted and turn them into something I never would have thought of myself. The price of the work was reasonable compared to quotes I received from several other companies. I'm very happy with the increased curb appeal and pride I have with the front of my home now. I had several neighbors come by saying how nice the work looks including some who I have never spoken to in all the years. After getting 3 bids for major landscaping at our 30 year-old property, we selected NLD and definitely don't regret it. In the back he did some significant cleanup in the rock areas along the back fence and the house as well as planting a new tree and some shrubs. In the front we replaced large areas with xeriscaping and Henry provided great suggestions for the design and various plants, including a mulch mound in the front corner with different colors of native/drought tolerant flowers. Read my other reviews and you know I don't hand out all 5 stars! I evaluated several companies before selecting Natural Landscaping & Design. They were competitively priced, had great ideas and provided knowledge on plant selection and placement. Although I had paid another company for a design Henry was helpful in identify ways that we could achieve the same effects at a slightly lower cost (mostly plant substitutions and improvements). NLD was the only company who truly addressed irrigation needs and didn't try to cut down the number of zones. Henry even added a line because he wanted to allow for future expansions and was able to do this at very little cost. NLD does exceptional concrete work, forming and finishing. They didn't skimp on concrete strength, compaction or on reinforcement of the sidewalks. I didn't have stone work done one of the homes I visited as a reference had some of the nicest stone work I have seen. The crew was very good about cleaning up each day, they were respectful of me, my wife and the rest of our yard. They did an excellent job on soil preparation and plantings. This was a new home and I watched as my neighbors struggled with their landscaping company choices and I had NONE of those issues working with NLD. If you are looking for a good company with good crews I would highly recommend Henry Ho and NLD. PS - There website isn't great - there facebook page isn't either. Henry was very prompt in responding to my quote request, he was one of the best offers that we got, and his crew completed the job in three days, which was significantly faster than other estimates we got. The NLD team did a great job finishing our front yard, which required removing mulch and adding rock to the flower beds. They scheduled a time to come out to provide an estimate, were on time, and provided a price that was comparable yet just under the estimates we received from other companies. This was not a difficult or intricate job, but it was a lot of work. NLD particularly shined when the team cleaned up some areas that I had tried to do myself, and didn't finish up to their standards. They took pride in doing the job right, as if the whole yard and how it was done reflected on them. We discussed the job prior to install, and where I thought we had agreed to adding extra weed barrier and that it was included in the estimate, I was informed that it wasn't actually in the original estimate. However, they threw it in anyway, with no mention of increasing the price, even after I offered. They wouldn't even consider the extra money, and I was impressed with that. For those of you who are like me and do not like to hire people to do work around your house, either due to bad past experiences or you feel like you are going to get ripped off or upcharged for everything above what the estimate explicitly states, this is the company to hire. They did what was required to do the job right, and not just what we agreed upon during the estimate, which today is a rarity. In management training they teach you to soften the blow by saying a few nice things before you start in with the bad, so here it is: the only issue I had were that the rocks were dusty and I had to rinse them a little with a hose to bring out the color... everything else came out exactly as I wanted it. Overall, I am very happy with the work they did, but mostly I'm happy with the experience which they made pretty painless. read more

Not only did they stick to their estimated quote, they added in extra features to our pergula and sprinkler system without charging more money. When a section of our grass dried up because I didn't notice the sprinklers were not working (my fault) they came out to replace the sod (and fix the sprinkler timer.) I had a small landscaping job in the yard that I needed done before winter set in. I am glad I called NLD. These guys are really good and do business like the old days. They were on time, courteous, and very reasonable on price. They quoted me a price and actually did some extra work on the project and stuck to the original estimate. We recently moved to the Denver metro area into an older home whose landscaping needs a number of improvements. We are in the process of collecting estimates for a project in our back yard and contacted Henry from NLD Natural Landscaping and Design. Henry came out to our house this afternoon to listen to our ideas and to provide some guidance--and a cost estimate--on the proposed project. In addition to the earth-moving part of the project, we also asked him to provide his opinion on whether we should repair or replace our non-working sprinkler system. Henry examined our system, made some adjustments (including re-wiring) and got the system to function correctly again. It was clear that he had expertise in sprinkler systems--even one as old as ours. He spent at least one hour of his time working on our sprinkler before he had to take off for an appointment with another client. Whether he gets our landscaping job or not, Henry is one of the friendliest and most generous contractors we've run across. His behavior speaks well for the company and puts NLD at an advantage when it comes time for us to pick a contractor to do our landscaping work. read more
