The only redeeming qualities about this place is that the staff was incredibly nice and easy to talk to, and it was very clean. When I left I was initially happy with my nails. They were shaped nicely and looked like they were painted well. I got the dip/SNS nails and by the second day the top coat was peeling off. Not the color the clear coat that makes them shiny and protects them. I tried painting over them with my own clear nail polish only to find that caused a weird grey tint to the clear coat that was left behind. So I just had rough nails that kept getting caught on clothes and my hair until I decided to take the polish off at less than a week. Not to mention they were on the higher end as far as prices go. read more

I hate that I have to leave a bad review, most of the people there are incredibly nice. Last week, I went for a mani/pedi and got talked into doing dip nails, being told they lasted longer. Since then, I have gone back 3 times due to the top coat just peeling off leaving an extremely rough sandy manicure (which I know that's how the dip is) and guess what?! It's peeling again. Th first set was nightmare! Asked for a French acrylic set. The guy glues the white tips half way down my nail and then has to cut them way shorter than I wanted because there was way too much white. The tips weren't even glued completely to the surface of my nail. I was so tired that I left without complaining. Called the owner the following day and she said to come in to have them fixed the following day. The new set was a step up but not great. I ended up having another salon file, buff and repaint them. Firstly, I want to say that Kevin and Leslie that work there are awesome and super cool, the rest I don't know. I went and got acrylic nails which cost $40 just to find out I can't have them where I work. So, I called and asked if I could get a refund and the answer was no but they could take them off for free. I talked to a lady on the phone later and asked instead if they could do a different service for free like a pedicure since I did pay $40 and the lady replied "that's a personal problem" more than once. I took what I was offered not trying to cause problems and got my nails taken off. They left me with no strengthener on them and my nails are actually burned. I've gone to this salon twice & both times left unhappy & not getting what I went in asking for. I wanted a nude or clear nail with a white ombre tip. This was what I thought was simple, because the last time I went I asked for a design which they told me they cannot do, as well as any other design I showed them. I gave them options with reference photos each time before I even sat down in the chair & they told me they could do it. For the white tip nails I asked for my most recent time, I saw that my "artist" only had a pink polish out. Just to be sure he understood, I asked, "You're still doing the white tip, right?" & he responded "Do you want white or pink?" I politely clarified what I wanted & showed him the photos again & he said he couldn't do it. So I changed it to be just clear with a black outline tip, so he gave me a horizontally split black & clear nail. From there I told him to just paint the whole nail black. Even though I dont like black nails, it seemed to be all he could manage at this point. Then he asked if I wanted any design. I asked for a straight, vertical white line on just the ring fingers. He gave me diagonal dashes so I asked if they could be straight & he got all huffy puffy so the woman helping a different customer next to us stepped in to give me a straight line. On top of that the shape was not flattering to my nails & almost made my fingers look chunky? He didn't even check my hands with each finger side by side, which is something that happens even when I do my own nails. He put one coat of black over my entire nail so 2 nails were chipped the next day, and I never chip within WEEK one. The first time I went they cut my finger & asked me what my acne on my face was, & the older man doing my nails repetitively told me how "cute" I was after he noticed the tears in my eyes. Both times were a very uncomfortable experience where I felt as though my business was a bother & inconvenience to them. Will not be returning. read more

I first visited this place to get my nails done for my engagement photos. I asked for a full set and for them to be as thin and natural as possible. On this visit, I was thoroughly pleased and vowed that this would be my regular salon from then on. Fast forward to the week of my wedding. The salon looked busy, but not overly so when I walked in for mani-pedis with my sister and daughter. We sat there for 1 1/2 hours waiting for someone to start on us, while other people came and received services, and went. When we finally got started on, I mentioned that we were there because I was getting married the next day. My daughter, who is 9, was taken into the back and left there. They did paint her toes, but nothing else, and just ignored her. The guy who was working on mine trimmed my cuticle, then got up and left without saying a word. Finally, about 40 minutes later he returns and begins working on my nails. I told him that I now only had time for the full set because I had already been sitting around for 2 hours. This fellow seemed to have been on drugs, fidgeting, stumbling, doing a sloppy job, and even was rough enough with the nail grinder to make me bleed. I was very unhappy with the services I received, and will not be back. My nails look terrible, and because of it, I was not able to take quite a few of the photos I intended to take. read more

This place is ok but I am not pleased with them. The staff was very rude to me when I came in to get one nail fixed. I asked if I could have my nail filed some more because it was too long and they had a different lady file it who completely ruined my nail shape and when I tried to ask her to fix the shape she made it worse so I went home and filed the nail myself. I have no idea why this place doesn't have 5 stars. I go here all the time and have had almost every nail technician, they are all really good. The owner is always walking around joking and offering drinks, he is such a nice guy. If a nail ends up coming off for any reason they will always fix it up for you right away. I've never had to wait, even when it's busy. The owner will sit down and get started on your nails so you don't have to wait. As if great service and beautiful salon weren't enough, the pricing is super great. I love natural nails!! read more

First thing, the guy who did the color change on my toes was fabulous!! Great experience and very thorough!! Things just went downhill from there. I got shuffled between 3 different people before finally getting someone to really start. The guy then proceeds to cut my cuticle to the point of bleeding and then just tries to paint over it instead of fixing the problem. It turned out to be the worst gel manicure I've ever gotten. The polish didn't cover all my nails and there was residue left on my skin that he refused to take off. So I'm very glad that I live out of town and don't have to go here ever again. read more

The salon itself is beautiful! Super nice people and I was super hopeful! I got a full set (not by the owners who I guess usually do all solar nails) and they were so thick, lifted within a day and ended up getting liquid inside, which can create a fungus on your nail. Maybe pedicures would be better as the salon has a great atmosphere. Definitely do not recommend for solar nails. I went to City Nails and had much better results! Not the same atmosphere, but I'll take a less fancy place for better quality product. read more

Guy did my toes and then said I'd have to choose a different color for my mani because he'd used the last of the bottle for my toes. I am a regular customer here and haven't had any complaints until today. I noticed when the nail tech was gluing on my acrylics there was a spot of red on the tip of the glue that looked similar to blood. I shook it off until he cut my finger while buffing, and pulled out the same glue to stop the bleeding. Still shocked. Super gross. read more

Wow. This place has declined in a big way. Not even sure where to begin. First, don't bother making an appointment (unless you're feeling particularly lucky). Appointments mean nothing. It's a first come, first serve and their entire operation is so disorganized and they are all about making as much money as possible, in the least professional way, that they would never fess up to the fact that appointments mean nothing. The time before last that I went, when I had made an appointment, I waited one hour. Last time, I waited about 45 min. The woman who did my nails was quite unhappy and kept talking to the guy next to her about how they work for free, and so and so was stealing their tips, etc. I felt for her, but it just added to the lack of professionalism that this place reeks of. Piles of towels that look half wet everywhere. A dirty fish tank that has no fish in it-they had two tanks and are now down to one and they haven't bothered to clean the dirty one. They were both overcrowded for the size of fish they have in there. Apparently some of the rocks in the (now unused tank) crushed some of the fish (I asked because I was kind of horrified to begin with that there were so many large fish in such a small tank). Very inhumane. Also, foot baths that have draining problems, various crap just strewn about. One woman was told to go to the back to wait for an eyebrow wax. They forgot about her. She came out and asked how long it would be - and they gave the usual answer: "just a few minutes." Meanwhile, when she went back in, they started to talk about how they didn't even know she was back there. That woman was smart and hightailed it out of there. They are understaffed. There weren't even that many people at this time. They start your water (if you're lucky) so that your feet can hang out in increasingly cold water for 30-45 min. until they get to you. They all look like they could give a shit about whether you wait or not. There's NO set routine about how to handle clientele. I had been waiting for 30 min. and two people came in and were escorted to their chairs for pedicures and asked if they wanted something to drink and something to read while they waited. I got none of that. This place was not always like this. I don't know if the manager/owner is burned out and overwhelmed or is truly apathetic, or both. I can't imagine they even read these reviews. Hopefully possible clientele will read the bad reviews here and will run. I think that some of the good reviews are just randomly lucky appointments. There aren't a lot of options in Boone for good mani/pedis, unfortunately. Because there's not a lot of competition, places don't tend to make much effort. That was my last visit for this place. I went to this place to get my nails done for graduation. I decided to go with SNS dip and a few jewels on both of my ring fingers. One of the male workers rushed through my nail process forgetting to even do some of the stuff to my nails. Within less than a week, 2 of my jewels have fallen off and they did not act concerned when I went back in to get them fixed. I am NOT SATISFIED with how my nails turned out at all and paying over 50 dollars for them, I should walk out feeling amazing. read more

I hate to do reviews but Ive tried this nail salon on 4 occasions and am really dissatisfied with the work they do here. The first time my experience was great with the tech named David. He was knowledgeable and did a wonderful job on my acrylic full set, i hate acrylic and wanted the advertised gel set, but they dont do that service. The second time i came in for a pedicure that was horrible. Fast and messy. The 3rd time i made a same day appt with David only to drive 45 mins to the salon to be told he was on vacation. So i didn't get my fill in that day. A week later the same thing happened but bc it was the day of my anniversary event i let another tech do my fill.. The fill was extremely uneven and lumpy, and the repaired nail was noticeably shorter than the rest. I had no time to spare so had to leave it that way, only to get to the register and be charged 60 dollars for a fill and polish on my toes. A week later now i have chipped gel and need another fill. wasted money. I hate to leave reviews if they are bad but Im really disappointed in the service. After having our feet in water for over half an hour, trying to get my chair stopped for massaging (employees had to unplug to stop) and employee coping an attitude just because I asked for hot water to be added to bowl, we left!! Good news. I have officially found THE worst nail salon on the planet. Bad news. I actually sat there and went along with the service and am now out $150. Went to visit our daughter at App. Thought it would be a great, relaxing mother-daughter experience. I concur with everyone's take on the atmosphere and decor. Compared to our home salon down the road in Raleigh - this place was pretty top-notch with high-quality chairs, running water fountain to set the mood, plush seating. That's where the "pluses" stop - and the minuses take over. Two clients - three service workers begin on our nails. We had requested mani-pedi's -- toes, with color; fingers - french gel manicures. We were shown a glossy menu catalog of various services (similar in thickness to a Cheesecake Factory menu!!). We asked for the Classic Pedicure - one step UP from their lowest-price pedi. The two women at our feet tried upselling us. I said "NO". Then this guy comes over to do our nails and asks us AGAIN to select our pedi-service. I explained I wanted the "Classic". He proceeds to hound us - until I (no-spine) give in to his demands for the "Signature" pedi that supposed took 40 mins. and included parafin wax, exfoilation, hot-towel relaxation. 20 MINUTES later - our toes were done. Suffered through the absolutely WORST pedi. I have one toe w/ color half-on; half-off. So completely rushed through the procedure and nope - I wasn't going to complain - that would prompt them to jibber-jabber about us while in our presence - and we both wanted to get out of there. The guy proceed to do my nail WHILE having my pedi done. I originally turned to my daughter to say, "Oh, this is good - they are doubling-up services, so we'll be able to go to those other stores you want." But OUCH!!!! All that rush cause this guy to cut the cuticles to bloody bits on 4 fingers. Seriously, I am now sporting bandaids. As others have stated - he then proceeded to paint GEL over the nail that had blood formed along the rim. I now have 4 fingers coated with bloody-gel. No way of getting this off unless I go elsewhere to remove the entire process. When we paid. I was beyond shocked when the bill came to $160. $40 for each service. At home (Raleigh) - mani-pedi's are given a break in cost when you can combine packages. ONLY if you just book a mani or just pedi - AND request "special services" do you get charges such outrageous amounts. But in BOONE???? In a mall salon?? I do not know how this place stays in business. It was by far the worst experience ever and I will never return. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE go elsewhere -- these people do not need to be in business. They are ripping you off and giving shoddy, speed-service after destroying your nails. They just want to rush people out the door and will listen to NOTHING you request. Their only purpose in mind is bringing in more money to their business and upselling is their game. HATE IT. read more

Incredibly inefficient. Although I realize that this is the case in most Asian nail salons and that "10 minutes" usually means 20...this place really takes the cake. The service is horrible. I stood at the door for awhile before anyone would greet me and then was waved to go to the back and sit in a chair..apparently any old chair..all the nail techs looked up at me like a deer in headlights. I inevitably sat in the wrong chair where some random worker filled the bowl up with cold water and there I sat as my feet turned into prunes until I was told to move to a different chair. And so here I sit....STILL. it's been over 30 minutes. It is very likely that the second coming of Christ will occur before anyone even glanced my way. And here I thought I might get a manicure and an eyebrow wax...SILLY ME!!! Heed my advice.....PRAY YOU AVOID THIS PLACE!! Went to get my nails done with a picture of what I wanted. The nail artist laughed at me and said he didn't wanna do it that way. I wanted gels, I got acrylic. I didn't want a tip I wanted a solid color, he sad no. I wanted a specific shape and he said no he didn't like it. He was even mad when I asked to add glitter because he didn't want glitter. 3 days later half of my nails had already fallen off and they looked nothing how I wanted. I went back to ask them to fix them and I was instead charged to get them re done. The new artist still did not shape them correctly and each one was a different size. I wish I could give this place negative stars but looks like 1 will have to do. Started out as a great outing, my friend and I came for pedicures. While having our toes done, my nail technician Liam offered sns nails for a manicure at a huge discount. He told us the fee would be only $10 for each of us, so we would pay a $20 flat fee for the two mania. Being broke college freshmen, this sounded like a great idea. Neither of us had ever had this treatment done, so we had no clue how their prices compared. Flash forward to when we were going to pay and we were each charged $35 for the manicures. We told them they were mistaken and we were given a price of $10 per manicure. They argued with us for a while and then we gave in and paid $70 each for our services, cash we didn't have. My friends nails aren't even the correct color; and Jackie who did her nails said it'd change in a few days. If it doesn't, we'll be coming back for full refunds. Don't go here if you value your money. Incredibly disappointed, thought this was going to be my new regular nail place. read more
