Beautiful baked good in front window

This is a cute shop with a large selection of vegan baked goods as well as a small grocery area with things like vegan cheese and milks. The staff was friendly and helpful. I tried a variety of items and they were all good. Great for vegans!

Items Selected: Cinnamon Roll (Kanelsnegl) Poppyseed Roll (Frosnapper) Strawberry Walnut Danish (Spadnauer) Gluten Free Almond Cake (Mandelkage) Vegan Apple Cake (Banankage) Gluten Free Carrot Cake (Gulerodskage) Brought up during a conversation about allergies and intolerances while in Copenhagen, their population's gluten-sensitive and pseudo-allergy voices far less loud than in America, Naturbageriet on Frederiksberggade near Nørreport Station is one of the capital's rare bakeries catering to Vegans and those looking for a gluten free treat, the smallish space with some dry and refrigerated goods proving to be reasonably priced and quite popular on a Saturday morning just past 08h00. Once again focusing on Organic Grains from nearby farms and Milk or Eggs, when applicable, likewise allocated, those visiting Naturbageriet will at first be somewhat confused by signage delineating what is versus what is not allergy sensitive and although Danish is used exclusively on labels the staff is English-fluent and happy to make suggestions, the eventual order entailing six choices from which half were designed for the store's target audience. Too small to offer seats, though at such an early hour several outdoor tables are unoccupied and unwatched nearby, it was with goods spread out that passers-by starred or commented on the sheer volume of food, most items larger than the average and first bites of the filled Danish showing well, the exterior flaky with a lot of butter within and the Strawberry Jam restrained from being too sweet by a generous amount of toasted Walnuts. Intrigued by this version of the Poppyseed-studded Frosnapper, the Seeds folded into a soft and buttery braid with light sweetness that tasted much like Honey, it was largely in continuing to search for the city's best Cinnamon Roll that the Gluten Free version was passed up in favor of a traditional one, the results very impressive and on par with that at St. Peder's or Det Rene Brød. Intrigued to see so many cakes offered, at least three more in addition to those sampled available, those looking for something hearty and rustic should throw caution to the wind and taste the Vegan Banana Cake that sees unleavened Rye and mashed Banana soaked in Cider and topped in sliced Apples with plenty and Cinnamon and Anise notes throughout while those avoiding Wheat will find equal pleasure in a lighter than average Carrot Cake made with Pineapple Juice, ground Coconut, Nuts and Carrots, the Almond Cake another great choice that tastes a lot like Caramel Cake found throughout the Southern United States but made with far better ingredients.

They changed the name to Landbageriet. This means the country side bakery. This vegan bakery is amazing and well worth your money. Most of the pastries range from 15-30 dkk which is pretty fair. The vegan pastries barely even taste vegan at all. There are some gluten free options too. I got the carrot cake looking one and my friend got some cookie with chocolate covered on it. Amazing!

The store front is a bit dull, so it's easy to walk right pass it but check out the window! So many baked goods lined up. It's perfect to just pick up a few slices of cake and head on over to the lakes to soak up some sun. I had the carrot cake (gulerodskage) and loved every crumb of it. I was actually thinking of going back to get a second piece! It's very moist and not too sweet. If I'm not mistaken there were tints of ginger spice in it as well as cinnamon. LOVE IT. Prices were inexpensive compared to other high end bakeries that don't make good carrot cake. So far this was my favorite slice of carrot cake. Also, what I love is that they don't spread frosting on top! My friend had the apple cake and this was tasty but I thought it was a bit dry. Apples had a good texture; not soggy or undercooked. I must come back before I leave Copenhagen!

A lot of variety. Tried the croissant, thebirkes, and marcipan medalje. They were delicious. They also sell vegan cheese and vegan yogurt.

Delicious healthy treats served by a friendly staff. Plus, wifi. I love it. Every time I go to Stockholm, I stop by as often as I can.

Great gluten-free, vegan options-we like or love everything we have tried. So glad this place exists in Copenhagen.

Let's just say I ate a LOT of pastries during my stay, and most of them from Meyers because they won my heart (or stomach). It all started with the raspberry bar (which I call Danish pop tart but it's so much better than a pop tart). It didn't have the white icing on it which I had seen at a bunch of other bakeries. But I actually prefer it that way because I usually find icing to be too sweet. I don't know how to describe this Danish pop tart, but I do know I will be dreaming about it for years after I return to Toronto. SO GOOD. So the next time I went back, I got the pastry with the poppy seeds on top, and butter and sugar inside. It was pretty good - very filling! I think I like there to be more flavours to my pastries though. Then, I went back the day after for a rhubarb pop tart and a rumball. I think I prefer the raspberry pop tart over the rhubarb one. And the rumball was yummy, and also very filling. I also got the iced latte (espresso, milk, vanilla syrup and ice) which reminded me of a tim hortons frappuccino but way more expensive =p Tasty though, and perfect for a hot day. In all my visits to Meyers, the quality of food/drink has been consistently good. I can safely say it was my go-to bakery during my short stay in Copenhagen!

We decided to comeback for dessert and I am so glad we did. One of my friends warned me cheesecake in Europe (especially Germany) does not always taste like cheesecake in the USA, because many bakers use quark instead of cream cheese. Well, Copenhagen is awesome and this adorable cafe with amazing cheesecake that does taste like my favorite cheesecake in the USA, made my trip. I tried the chocolate genache cheesecake and my husband ordered the pecan carmel cheesecake. Our friends ordered the tiramisu cheesecake. All three were absolutely delicious. We also ordered lattes and prosecco. The prosecco paired extremely well with the chocolate genache cheesecake. I can't wait to comeback. Thanks again!! :-)

The wine on offer was limited and not that great (the kind that stains your teeth and leaves grainy residue at the bottom of the glass) and the tapas was pretty unoriginal. My only advice is: stick with what you know. When you ask for a suggestion of which of the two bottles of red the owner of the cafe suggests and his reply is that he doesn't know, and admits to knowing nothing about wine...you know you're in for something bad. I end with four stars: three for the tapas, five for the cheesecake & hygge. Pro-tip: from about April on, the front window gets direct afternoon sunlight and basically will result in you feeling like you're sitting in a sauna if you snag one of the two available tables there. Consider yourselves warned.
