Purchased a Groupon for Natureal spa. Every time I called I received a voicemail. I finally received a phone call back from a very unprofessional, rude and curt woman. The special hours for groupon customers were totally unreasonable..so I will be getting a refund. Even if the hours were flexible I would have asked for a refund..I do not patronize businesses that are in the business of customer service who demonstrate POOR customer service. Dr. Butler is a great massage therapist with a soothing and relaxing office. I learned about her through an Amazon Local deal which was quite a bargain compared to others I've seen advertised. I then looked her up on Yelp and when I saw the good reviews I decided to buy the deal. I'm glad I did. She pointed things out during the massage that I've heard before from other therapists and understood from my own experience lifting weights w/o stretching. She convinced me to drink more water, especially during my workouts, and to stretch regularly which I now plan to do. I don't think I'll be able to quit the coffee though :) She ended the massage with some leg stretches which I appreciated. She was also very easy to talk to and professional the whole time. Since I have some work to do in the gym (not yet near my potential) she offered the contact information to a personal trainer she goes to herself. Dr. Butler also has an e-mail newsletter that offers deals on her various services. I recommend her practice for those looking for natural healing and relaxation remedies at an affordable price. read more

This is my first bad review, I usually applaud great businesses in my reviews. But, I couldn't let this negative experience slide. I Signed up through Groupon, not only did she take multiple voicemails to return my calls, she MARKED my voucher as redeemed upon making my appointment. (Shady, but I dismissed it) Two months later, I take my lunch break (since she only allowed the groupon to be used during the worse times and it wasn't mentioned on the groupon the times just by appt, as you can see other reviewers posted) finally find the little office with barely a sign. No one greets me, I wait 15-20 well into my scheduled appointment time for her to tell me her other masseuse bailed and she's double booked, we have to reschedule or wait till she's done (three 50 min massages behind) I was completely sincere to the fact that mistakes happen and you can't control someone else's unexpected absence. Unfortunately, being in the military and I couldn't reschedule for the following month because I go on a mission and the voucher would expire .She was extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE and lacked any empathy for her customers (2 others there with me) who already paid her in advance and were awaiting their services. The whole time she blamed Groupon as if they're in business to set you up for failure? I never got a call back or an appt slot as expected to honor my $30 I paid for a massage I didn't get. She can keep my $30 because I don't want to ever encounter someone so straight disrespectful again. This is the first time that I've written a review but I felt it was necessary because I work very hard for my money. I agree with the other comments concerning having problems making an appointment because of being a Groupon user. I was told the times available are Monday thru Friday, 11 to 2. I work in DC and tried to explain this to her to see if we could come to an agreement for a Saturday appointment but I was told, "you need to make it work with your schedule". I am currently engaged with Groupon regarding this situation in order to obtain a refund. Even if we could come to an agreement concerning an appointment, I would not go to her based on the way she spoke to me. I will take my money and business elsewhere and suggest you do the same unless you're not using a coupon and don't mind being talked to dismissively. Today was my first visit at Dr. Butler's spa. And I must say her service was phenomenal, she gave me good advice as she work and really concentrated on my problem areas. She sent me home with remedies to try in order to maintain my well being. She seems very knowledgable of the natural treatments for the body. I would definitely recommend her to other people and I will be returning for more visits. read more

I purchased a Groupon for the spa. First of all, it was very difficult to even make an appointment. When I called, I always received a voice mail and no return call. When I was finally able to contact the spa to schedule an appointment (through an online appointment website), the available slots were limited. On the day of my appointment, I showed up early because I was not exactly sure where it was located. Once I found the spa, to my surprise it was located in shared office space that wasn't quite my idea of a spa experience. But anyway, there was no one available in the spa for my appointment and no one ever showed up and contacted me concerning my appointment. When I saw a Groupon for a massage in my area that had good reviews and was owned/ran by one of "us" I couldn't hit buy fast enough. But like someone else said, there is a special section on the website for scheduling appointments using a Groupon or any other deal and of course nothing is available until the middle of the week in late June, after which my Groupon would be expired. But when I look at the regular priced options for massage appointments she has plenty of times and dates available as early as this week. So I called, thinking that like most REASONABLE business owners, she would be able to get me an appointment closer than a month away (or better yet, on the day I requested since she had several time slots available), but no, she told me that appointments can only be made online and that she had no other way to make appointments (because its not like she, the owner, could make such executive decisions). I told her that the only dates that she had available would be after my Groupon expired and she told me I could pay the difference. Her attitude on the phone was just as dismissive as her replies on here to other reviewers with the same problem (so spare me the fake explanation as to why you "can't" set up an appointment). I do not appreciate it when businesses CHOOSE (because they do not have too) use these deal websites that cost them money because they are providing the service such a deep discount but then don't want to honor their deal. If you are not going to treat all of your customers the same, then don't offer the deal! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!! read more

Dr Butler was truly heaven sent. She took me the same Day and was very nice about it. She gave a great massage and asked how I was doing during the massage. She made me comfortable the whole time and really wanted me to relax. In addition to the massage she even offers many other services. Please check her out . She's gentle warm and friendly. Save your time and money!!!! I purchased a Groupon in January......and have had 3 appointments canceled!!! Today I was told that there will no longer be any Saturday appointments and I can only come on 3 days out the week during the hours on 11-2pm. Really??? So disregard your clients who work a 9-5 job! This is how you do business? I honestly feel as if I was treated poorly because I bought a Groupon. Often in phone conversations when trying to schedule an appointment I was told over and over again, "well....you only paid half of what a normal massage is." So...treat me like crap because I bought a Groupon!! I gladly told the owner that I will just take the lost on the Groupon.....seeing that I bought it in January...it is now May.....and there is NO APPOINTMENTS available till July (between the hours of 11 am and 2 pm of course)!!! This was the most unprofessional and disappointing experience ever had. Around Christmas I gifted my mom a groupon for 3 Swedish massages as she was entering her busy season at work and would greatly benefit from monthly relaxation escapes. However, when my mother attempted to contact someone for an appointment she was greeted by a snarly and unprofessional woman. The woman was not accommodating AT ALL! My mother called in mid February seeking a Friday or Saturday appointment but was informed that nothing would be available to her until April (coincidently April was the expiration month of the groupon). My mother attempted to explain the details of the groupon but was interrupted by the woman who stated the she knew the details of the groupon as she had created them. My mother then determined that she was not interested in working with this woman. This was the absolute WORST service and I WOULD NOT recommend natural Wellness Spa EVER!!!! BEWARE! read more

I had my first massage with Dr. Butler today and must say it was the best I've had in the DC area! As most people do, I carry a lot of tension in my back and shoulders and have been having issues with my neck all week. I informed Dr. Butler of my issues and she spent an extra bit of time working on stretching my neck and getting the 'all the knots' out of my back and shoulders. Before going I could barely turn my head to the left and was in serious pain. Now, I have full motion in my neck and will say it's back 95% (my fault... should have done a deep tissue!). Great massage, extra care to my particular needs and at a great price. I will be setting up monthly appointments with her from now on! KUDOS!!! read more

The customer service is absolutely horrible. You can not get in contact with them, despite several calls. "Dr." Butler (quotes were on purpose), is not professional at all. I honestly have never experienced any customer service worse than her. She was very rude. With such a high level of unprofessionalism, I can't believe that they are still open. read more

I am so very frustrated with this business. I purchased my GP April 24th, today is June 19th, and after four calls, two voicemails and almost 2 months later Nothing! It is unfortunate that some businesses are not established enough to handle the demand they so desperately need, but their inability to serve the consumer is not our fault. I purchased two separate massages through GROUPONS for my wife and daughter as a gift for Valentine's Day. Needless to say this was the most disappointing gift given to both. My wife called 2-3 days after receiving the package to set up an appointment with NATUREAL WELLNESS SPA. there policy on the voice mail is they will call you back within 48 hours. It took approximately a week to receive a call back for an appointment. Understand my wife is a very patient and respectful individual. However, the person who called her back (Dr. Michelle) was not professional on how she spoke with my wife. My wife informed her that she received a gift for a Swedish massage from GROUPONS and she wanted to know if she did Aromatherapy massages and immediately the good doctor told her she can only get a Swedish massage because that's what her gift was. My wife never wanted to switch the coupons but just inquired on it. She never got a chance to express this because the good doctor cut her off. When they finally agreed upon a date it was a month later. It was scheduled on a Saturday @ 2PM, and the good doctor showed up 5 minutes late. The reason I know is because I dropped my wife off at the office. I dropped my wife off at the office and waited for her in my car. We got there 10 minutes before the appointment and within 2 minutes my wife came downstairs to ask me to come up stairs with her because there were men in another suite with their doors open using profane language and drinking alcohol and she feared for her safety. Finally when the good doctor showed up she just said, "Hello" and proceeded to her office. How about an apology for being late or better yet being acknowledged who we are. In about 5 minutes she came out and asked if we were there to see Michelle my wife had indicated she was and in her next breath she said I'm DR. MICHELLE (Really) you're a massage therapist. I guess people like to glorify themselves. Needless to say it went downhill from there. My wife had a slight cough from the air circulating in the office and the good doctor immediately asked if my wife had a cold and my wife informed her that she didn't. The good doctor said, she could not render the services because it will make my wife sick with a cold if she gave her a massage. (That was the first),. Anyway, she indicated my wife needed to reschedule her appointment. I was becoming upset because of the tone she used when speaking to my wife and her lack of professionalism with as a therapist. I then informed her that my daughter has been calling for the past month trying to set up an appointment and she has not received a call back. The good doctor became very defensive when asked about the call back. She stated, she always call back and my daughter was not answering her phone. If you know anything about a person in their 20's they will respond to their cell phones. I then asked my wife if she was ready to leave because I did not want to get into a verbal confrontation with the good doctor! Can I also say that my wife and daughter will never step foot in her office. Just remember if your not a client and you purchase a GROUPONS certificate you will be treated like a second class citizen. I could go on but will it change her ways. I doubt it.... :-( read more
