I was able to make an appointment through email and they told me to come in on Sunday at 2 PM. I was ready to head out when I saw I had a few missed calls and voicemails asking if I could come in at 1 PM. However, by the time I checked it was already 20 mins past that. So I called them back and they told me that they had some sort of emergency and if I could come in at 4 PM instead. Thankfully, I was able to move some things around go in at that time. Once I arrived, I was asked to fill out a form that they would send me via email. I sat there for a few minutes until she did so. But moments later, the aesthetician came out and said that she is ready for me. I told her that I am still waiting for them to send me a form that I was asked to fill out. There seemed to be some misunderstanding or lack of communication between the front desk, person, and the aesthetician. I wish they had sent these forms before my appointment so I didn't have to waste time doing it there and cut into the time I was supposed to be starting the facial. I felt very rushed towards the beginning of my service. While I was filling out the form, the aesthetician (Darat) offered me some tea, which was a lovely touch. Then I headed in for my spa service. The actual facial itself was wonderful. One of the best ones I've gotten in a while. I told her that I recently got a nose piercing and to be careful around it as it is still healing. She was extremely careful and I felt no pain or sensitivity. She even threw in some head, arm and foot massages which I absolutely needed! It felt like a true spa experience. That is the reason I am giving it 4 stars, but docking one star because I wish the actual spa was a bit more organized in their scheduling and overall logistics. I think they have the potential, and I think I will be returning for another facial with Darat!

I didn't realize that all I had to do is cross the Woodrow Wilson Bridge into MD to find it. I had been experiencing elevated levels of stress, so I decided to book a 2 hour massage. I would definitely recommend this place. 5 Stars!

First, I just want to say that this is such gorgeous spot!…read more Upon entry, I was warmly greeted after being lost and confused (sadly). Tip: when using Google maps search JoyLife Spa, rather than using the actual address. For some strange reason, manually typing out the address tells you that you have arrived when really have about six more minutes to go. Fortunately, the owner was very patient and helpful in assisting with my arrival. After I checked in for my service, they walked me to their quiet room, which was cute and serene. Then my specialist, Rachel, came out and guided me to my room, which had a mini welcome message for me with some water, which I thought was very thoughtful. The service I opted for was the Indulge Hydration treatment for 60 minutes, which was $145. Being that this was my first time for this service, Rachel walked me through the process, which I greatly appreciated. The service started on a heated bed, with your body getting fully exfoliated, which is extremely relaxing. After the exfoliation, they put this organic (if I'm not mistaken) product all over your body to help restore your body with moisture and then wrap your body up, like a cozy, warm burrito. (This was such a great feeling). Then she moisturized my feet and gave me a mini shoulder rub. I must say that was so relaxed, that I was going in and out of sleep, then before I knew it, the hour was up. Overall, I had an excellent experience. I feel like everyone should give them a try if they have interest in a cute spa day that exceeds expectations. Also, fun fact, this is a black owned Spa!

We came here as a part of a promo through our credit card where we got 2 spa passes for the price…read moreof one and we had a nice, relaxing time here. We just moved to Alexandria so we wanted to check out what this is like in case we want to come back. Our spa pass included a mimosa and access to their outdoor pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and relaxation lounges. There were also snacks and teas in the lounges. They also provide you with a locker, sandals, and a robe, and all the towels you'd ever need. The outdoor pool was fairly small but there were several places to sit outside with umbrellas so we enjoyed our time there with the view. The sauna was like the saunas in most gyms so I didn't spend much time there but I enjoyed the steam room for sure. The only reason I'm docking a star is that I don't think the spa pass was worth the $100pp it would have been normally, as the amenities were pretty standard and the women's locker room was pretty small. It def makes sense being in the MGM resort and can be great for guests but I'd rather spend my money at a standalone spa like King Spa that had more unique offerings. Still was a great day though and great to know this is right there in case we wanted to come back or try a massage etc.

In general I had a pretty good experience as a first-timer visiting L&N. Everyone was friendly,…read morefrom the person at the front desk to the massage therapist, and the place itself is pretty, clean, and comfortable. I definitely wish it were a little quieter, though. You can hear quite a bit of what's going on outside the room, which takes away from the relaxing atmosphere a bit. But the most important part is that the massage itself was good. I've had a really difficult time finding someone to replace my old massage therapist, who was honestly magical, and this is probably the best massage I've found since. Not quite at that level, but good enough that I'm already looking at scheduling another visit. The one thing that made absolutely no sense to me was the timing. My wife and I each booked a one-hour massage plus a 30-minute foot massage, so naturally we expected about 90 minutes of services. Instead, we were told there was only something like a 5-10 minute difference because the foot massage was basically incorporated into the regular massage. I still don't understand how an additional 30-minute service that costs extra somehow adds only 5-10 minutes. That's a pretty significant discrepancy. Despite that, we liked the massages enough that we will return. We just won't bother paying extra for the foot massage in our second go. Lastly, parking was easy since it's in a strip mall-ish area (don't let that dissuade you).

When I got there, the masseuse seemed surprised her business was even on Groupon. She asked how much I paid, then told me I needed an appointment. Me: "I know. That's why I'm here. For the appointment." Then came the next surprise. The Groupon was for a chair massage and reflexology, but she said she didn't even have a chair. For the chair massage she was advertising on Groupon?? Instead, both masseuses were just sitting there, totally available, and instead of honoring the Groupon they advertised, they wanted us to pay $160 out of pocket ($80 each). Apparently the Groupon was just there for decoration. Did I just get punked? Lady do you know much gas is?! So to recap: Bought Groupon Called and scheduled appointment Drove through thunderstorms and possible tornado weather Showed up on time Groupon honored Chair existed Massage received If you're not going to accept Groupon customers, don't advertise on Groupon. It'll save everyone time, gas money, and the joy of driving through severe weather just to be told the service you paid for is apparently imaginary.

I called ahead to specifically request separate rooms (not a couple's massage) and asked that my wife be assigned a female therapist (per her request), which they confirmed over the phone. When we arrived early, we were placed in a shared room, the exact opposite of what we asked for. They then asked me to wait in the lobby while they made changes. A few minutes later, my wife was also asked to leave the room, as it had apparently been double-booked. At this point, there were no rooms available, so we were told to wait more despite having reservations. Eventually, my wife was taken to a room, but unbeknown to me she was assigned a male therapist, which we had specifically requested to avoid. I remained in the lobby for quite a while before being called back. When I finally got to my room, my therapist had no idea what kind of massage I was supposed to receive or for how long. The massage itself was fine, not particularly memorable, but okay. Unfortunately, the overall experience was poorly managed, frustrating, and uncomfortable. To top it off, there's a sign suggesting cash tips (with a suspiciously conveniently placed ATM in the lobby), and they don't tell you in advance that there's an extra charge for using a credit card. I've been trying to find a new regular massage spot, but I don't think this is the spot. Similar to other reviews, I left with the sense that the "therapist" is not a licensed massage therapist, just someone who rubs you. NOTE: I can't help but notice the number or good reviews this place has from Yelp accounts that have no activity other than to leave 5-star reviews here.
