We recently tried Nautical Bowls for the first time, and we have a new standard against which to judge all other açaí bowl shops and smoothie shops! The Nauti Bowl (my selection) was a heaping bowl of açaí and pitaya topped generously with peanut butter, banana, granola, and cacao nibs. I got the second-smallest size, and even so, was very full. The peanut butter and banana really make this bowl filling! My partner built his own bowl, and was quite excited that the options were so open-ended. The staff were super helpful, especially once we told them we hadn't been in before. I really appreciated the flexibility of being able to choose between house specialty bowls (which you can adjust as desired) or building your own from scratch. I also liked the variety of sizes: four options, ranging from small to quite large. The shop is clean, bright, and comfortable, with boppy music playing. It was a welcoming spot to sit and eat. Note: I was initially going to give Nautical Bowls four stars because it's casual counter service, but here's the thing I realized: they should be compared against their immediate peers (not, for example, a fine dining restaurant), and in that realm, they knock it out of the park! read more

The pumpkin spice bowl kept popping up on my social media so I went just for that. Unfortunately it was not as good as it looks. The spice is too strong and there's too much going on. I came here for the second time and started by trying all their base layer options since I didn't want a sweet base. I ended up building my own bowl with: Acai Spirulina Chia Pudding Honey Oat Granola Strawberries Blueberries Almonds Coconut Flakes It was absolutely delicious! Every time I think about it, I want another one. Next time, I might order the Cruiser Blue Bay Bowl and swap out a couple of ingredients to make it a little more cost-effective. I don't frequently visit this part of town, but I was thrilled to discover a Tucson Foodie promotion in the app. Finding Nautical Bowls was straightforward, and parking was hassle-free. Upon entering the shop, I was immediately impressed by the decor and cleanliness. Each table was equipped with crayons for coloring, making it very kid-friendly! The staff warmly welcomed me as soon as I arrived. I opted for the big island bowl, which featured a variety of ingredients and leaned toward the sweeter side. It was prepared promptly, and the staff processed my discount when I presented my coupon in the Tucson Foodie app. I enjoyed sitting on the outdoor patio, where it was peaceful and I could see the view a of the mountains. Absolutely love nautical bowls! So many yummy bowl combinations. I've tried a few--the Nauti bowl, the paddle bowl, and the protein bowl--and all are delicious. They also have smoothies--I haven't tried any yet, but plan to. Love the mural on the wall and the dedicated lake/nautical theme. Service is always friendly. They have a rewards program too so be sure to sign up for that. In addition to the amazing food, they have special deals each weekday. Tuesday is toddler Tuesday and you get a free toddler size bowl with the purchase of a regular bowl. I love to take my toddler on Tuesdays. She loves the bowl and they set out crayons and coloring paper! I think Wednesday is senior day with a discount for seniors. Nautical Bowls is a great addition to Oro Valley! When I was in Hawaii, I really enjoyed the thicker sorbet-like acai bowls to the thinner smoothie style bowls. It'ss really nice to find a place that offers those here in Tucson. There are many places that offer smoothies or blended fruit bowls but where Nautical Bowls really stands out is their freshly ground peanut butter. This will be a must on all my bowls from here on out. I love that the bowls aren't too sweet. I did omit the honey and granola so I think with those things, it would have been too sweet for my taste. Love this place! Such a nice, healthy alternative to ice cream. I mean, I like ice cream but sometimes nice to have something a little lighter. There are several pre-made options to order or you can make your own choices for a bowl. I chose a pre-made bowl with a bit of several ingredients. We had 2 different bowls and both were great! They have different fruits for toppings as well as hemp -seed, coconut flakes, and several others. The colors are beautiful and so appetizing. A cool treat on a hot day or any day really :-) The staff were really helpful In explaining the different choices. Great place for a family outing or a fun date night. A few things I was able to learn are they are partnering with LA Fitness, serving healthy coffees and juices, along with protein snacks while LA Fitness has some of their most popular bowls. They have bowls at El Conquistador in the snack bar and poolside. They work with the community's sports teams from youth to over 55, giving a portion of the profits to the teams. The inside was cozy and adorable and true to theme. The only downside I could say is that we had to drive about 45 mins to get there. Wish they had one closer to my home! I'd give it a 4.5 stars. As the name suggest, everything is a nautical, beach like theme, a very chill vibe once you get inside. Zoey greeted me as soon as I walked in. An older guy peaked his head out the back but he didn't say anything. They have a visual menu board but a smaller version on the counter. I had to ask but she told me I could get any of the bowls or opt for a smoothie. I chose the paddle bowl: blue majic, mango, coconut, granola, strawberries, coconut flakes and honey. The honey was pretty prevalent in the bowl, kind of overpowered EVERYTHING else but it was a really sweet, refreshing treat. I'd try something a lil more tame next time. We didn't have anything at home, so we decided to support a smaller business. Upon entering, you will see an ocean theme with painted walls and surf-shaped tables. The staff are friendly and don't mind waiting if you're having a hard time deciding what to order. The food is made at light speed and with quality! All the bases are delicious, but my favorite is the Blue Majik. No matter what bowl you get, it's always amazing. The price is fair, and overall it's a wonderful experience to dine here. Yum! Stopped in on a quiet Friday afternoon when I was looking for something different for lunch since my bf had his wisdom teeth pulled out a few days ago. The place itself is bright and airy with a beachy kind of vibe to it. The gentleman behind the counter asked if I'd been there before and when I said I hadn't he kind of showed me the ropes explaining the options for bases and different toppings if I wanted to create my own concoction as well as some of the tried and true combinations they have already on the menu. I got a bowl with the coconut, açaí and Blu Majik base topped with granola, strawberry, and banana. I got M a bowl with a pitaya/Açaí base topped with strawberries, banana and drizzled with honey. Since I was taking it home they packed it up nice for me even putting a cute little message on the bag thanking me for my order.
