Teaspoon is one of the best overall restaurants in Tucson. I've been here a few times over the last year or so. It has never disappointed in service, quality or taste. (well once in taste, but I'll get to that) They have great in-house made items. Like the Challa bread, the preserves, their pesto. They most certainly know what they're doing. I had unseasoned filet mignon once, I believe it was the omelette. I talked to the manager. Now I wasnt upset, didn't send it back, I just told them what I experienced and mused that I found it odd the cook forgot a simple thing like salt. The manager acknowledged my complaint and that was all; or at least I was fine. Nope, she came back with a to-go box of croissants topped with cream and berries as an apology. They were tremendous by the way. She didn't have to do that. The ambiance is it's only weak point, but even that is minor. Simple black is fine. It's modern feeling and doesn't stand out loudly. They have outdoor seating, which early in the morning is fine, but id avoid in the summer, which will likely mean you'll be waiting, depending on the time. Oh! I forgot to mention, they have very good drinks. They really are intentional about the blend of flavors, they have a little something for everyone. All in all, I cannot recommend this place enough. It's been a shining star amongst Tucson restaurants and I am grateful they exist. Even to how they organize their menu partly by flavor profiles shows they genuinely LOVE food. Service was super fast one we got a table. Came on a Saturday at noon and the place was still crowded. They have breakfast all day but also provide lunch so everyone is happy. There is outdoor seating with small tables and misters to stay cool. The inside has a good amount of space and A/C is on spot. There is also a bar with a good number of seats available. This might be first come first served but I am not totally sure. The food is a really good spread of options. Pancakes, german pancakes, french toast, eggs benedict(s) monte cristo, omelets, croque madame, country chicken with biscuits and sausage gravy, chilaquiles con pollo, avocado toast, savory crepe, and even a breakfast pizza. Oh and they offer a few skillet options too-southwest, loaded baked potato, and sausage and peppers skillet. So many options!! I can't speak too much for lunch but I did see burgers on the menu. Not too helpful in that arena sorry. The eggs Benedict with ham was awesome. Side of potatoes with a bit of all seasoning and a side salad with awesome light dressing comes with it. The dutch baby was also great. A german pancake served savory with sausage. Huge portion. Come check this place out and make sure if you don't want to wait you call in advance when driving there and ask to get on their "wait list" you may not be able to get a reservation but you can do this. Teaspoon was a great find. It's sandwiched between a couple of places, but once you walk down the ramp to their area, you find a true gem. The restaurant is half outside and half inside. It's is dog friendly and just such a nice vibe. Service was a bit crazy, but we totally understood given that it was Father's Day. Our wait was 19 minutes for a table and then another 10 minutes before the waitress came by to take our order. I'm certain it's not normally like this and took into full account all the families and couples that were there to celebrate Father's Day. The food was incredible. Once we ordered, we didn't have too long to wait before our order came out. My coffee was delicious and my husband enjoyed his organic tea. Aces all around. read more

I ordered the lobster and crab omelet and found it under seasoned and devoid of much lobster or crab. As a whole, I feel like the side pairing of challah toast with jam and butter is an odd choice. I also ordered the iced Thai tea, which was quite weak. Overall--I wasn't really feeling it. When you go to Teaspoon, you're really paying for ambience over quality. There's no issue with the service here, from hosts to wait staff. The food is simply underwhelming, and thus so is the experience. Wonderful brunch and lunch spot in the Tucson/Oro Valley area. I came during a holiday weekend and it was understandably busy, however they offer an easy option to hold your spot online. The vibes are easy and laid back perfectly suited for catching up with friends and enjoying yourself. The patio is both misted and dog friendly which we appreciated. Since it was a work lunch, we were pleased to sit at a large corner table. However, the noise level inside was quite loud. Today we decided to give Teaspoon another try. Even on a Monday, we waited about 30 minutes to be seated -- definitely a sign it's a popular spot. This time, the food was delicious. I ordered the filet mignon eggs Benedict. It was very tasty, although the poached egg was slightly overcooked. My husband got the skillet and absolutely loved it. The real star of the show was the Dutch baby -- oh my gosh! That alone is worth coming back for. The service was great, and we sat on the patio, which was lovely. I ordered the following: Oat milk latte Southwestern Skillet $15 Bubble waffle $13.5 Had to start with my go-to coffee order, an oat milk latte with honey and cinnamon powder. It was pretty solid. Then I chose the Southwestern skillet for my entree. It comes with bacon, black beans, pico de gallo, avocado, potato, roasted corn, jack cheese, and two eggs. We went on a Saturday, because Sundays are crazy there. I love that they are dog friendly. The staff was friendly and efficient. I got an egg parfait, but I think next time I will just get 2 poached eggs. It came with fresh fruit and toast. The latte was delicious and I couldn't finish it, so the waiter got me a cup of ice and I drank it on the way home as an iced latte. It was even better than the hot version. One of my top 3 brunch spots in Tucson. Excellent food - I had the Country Chicken and nibbled off the Dutch Baby and a Southwestern skillet. The chicken, gravy, biscuit , egg, and side of potatoes was largely portioned and just so darn delicious. The skillet was flavorful and I like that the pico de gallo didn't overpower the taste or texture. My favorite however was the Dutch Baby... I can't describe it enough except to say it's a must get and you will not regret this sweetness on your table. This was a solid choice for a late brunch on a weekend. I came here with a friend and were sat right away on the shaded patio with lots of fans. It was a nice comfortable space. The waitress was really knowledgeable about the menu and had good suggestions to make. She answered all our questions, which was much appreciated. I ordered the strawberry hazelnut crepes and the chicken apple pesto sandwich, which the waitress recommended ordering with a side of buffalo sauce. I got a side salad with my sandwich, and it was huge, a full plate of salad on its own for a side. The dressing was good. The sandwich itself was pretty good as well. I'd been wanting to try this place out for forever, but since I don't live nearby it just hadn't happened yet. Well, my bestie offered to take me here for my birthday brunch, so I accepted excitedly. I didn't even check the menu first, which is usually something I do without fail. When we arrived it was packed (11:30 a.m. on a Friday), and luckily there were two seats available at the bar which did not require a wait. The bartender noticed my Happy Birthday tiara immediately and was so kind in wishing me well as well as being extremely accommodating with coming to get our drink orders right away. My friend got the Prickly Pear Mimosa and I had a Rossini. Delicious, and I rarely get a morning drink! The strawberry puree in the Rossini was a perfect blend with the Cupcake Prosecco! For food, I ordered two things because I couldn't decide and after all, it was my birthday! I got the Croque Madame and the Yogurt and Quinoa parfait. The sandwich was divine! I'd never had this style of sandwich before. The gravy was delicious, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the cheese melted onto the challah bread which surrounded ham. Yum! I saved most of the parfait to take home, but I absolutely love the combination of banana and peanut butter with the chocolate chips on top, and the quinoa is a nice protein-rich substitute for granola. It was wonderful as well! My friend and I shared the Champinons Al Ajillo, and what a rich garlic-y sauce it was! Using the bread to soak up the juice while piling the mushrooms on worked perfectly. I also tried a bit of my friend's side of seasonal vegetables. It's often hard to find good vegetables when they are just a side, but these were an exception to the rule! They were flavorful and seasoned well. Her potatoes were also tasty, and I don't even like potatoes! I can't say enough good things about the food, drink, and service! Other staff members were quick to offer help if we needed something at any time, which was so lovely. My husband and I decided to stop into The Teaspoon this morning for breakfast before making a grocery shopping run. We are so glad we did. It was mid-week so parking was easy in the casas adobes shopping center and we were seated within 5 minutes of checking in. The service was great. We had a glass bottle of tap water on the table and we ordered the coffee to start. The coffee was freshly ground and full of bold flavor. It was delicious. I ordered the morning bowl and my husband had the southwestern skillet. He swapped out chorizo for the bacon. The potatoes were nice and crispy and the eggs were soft and fluffy in both entrees. I especially loved the bacon gravy on top of everything in my morning bowl. My husband's meal was equally impressive and the portion size was very generous. It came with fresh pico de gallo and sliced avocado. The restaurant is a nice gathering spot with indoor and outdoor seating. There was a large party of ladies that appear to be celebrating, couples, small groups and individuals. It's a wonderful place for all to gather and have good eats! We tried several dishes from the menu--the French toast from the sweet section, the filet mignon omelet, and the Southwestern skillet, and honestly I can't think of a single complaint. Service was excellent as well. Our server, Tyler, was kind, attentive, and very helpful when it came to the menu. The ambiance is lovely, especially the outdoor patio--there's a water fountain right behind it, which adds a nice, calming touch. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish. Tyler suggested the French toast and it was excellent. The creme anglaise was absolutely delicious, and the fresh fruit on top made it perfectly balanced. The filet mignon omelet had the right amount of filling, and the cheese was perfectly melted throughout, making each bite great. The Southwestern skillet was also excellent; the potatoes were crispy and flavorful, and the over-easy eggs added a creamy texture that tied everything together beautifully. For drinks, we tried the grapefruit mimosa, the original mimosa, the prickly pear mimosa, and the Rossini. Every drink tasted incredibly fresh--it really seems like most of their cocktails are made with freshly squeezed juice, which I truly appreciated. Prices are reasonable, and we had lots of leftovers. The hot and iced coffee was very good and they cook their bacon well. We tried both the sweet and savory Dutch baby and the sweet is the way to go; the savory is still pretty sweet and is a bit greasy from the sausage, so the blueberry lemon combo of the sweet one is definitely superior. We also tried one of their skillets, which was great, and the bubble waffle, which was delicious and definitely something I would order again. This big little gem of a bistro is tucked away in Casas Adobes Shopping Mall at Ina and Oracle Rd. Easiest to park in back and walk through the gated passageway. The menu selection is extremely broad covering a variety of cuisines with many vegetarian options. The Southwestern Skillet was mine with fresh grilled ingredients in a hearty skillet topped with eggs and fresh avocado. The photo says it all. I ended up taking half home. The atmosphere is Tucson casual chic with large patio or indoor dining. Service is professional, quick, and our total time there was 45 minutes. Not bad on a busy Sunday morning!
