The seating has been updated, with a second bar added along with high-top tables and booths. The space looks very nice. Our server came over, took our drink order, and we asked for a bowl of the black bean soup. When he returned, my wife asked how the pork special was, and he said it was very good, so she ordered it. I ordered the cod fish and chips. When the food came out, everything looked good at first. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were very greasy -- it seemed like the fries were placed on the plate to soak up the grease from the fish. My wife's pork dish was worse. She was given two slices with connective tissue running through them that were so tough she couldn't even get a fork into them. The other piece was also extremely tough and difficult to cut, and the gravy had no flavor. When our server finally came back to check on us, my wife showed him the pork. His response was simply that he would let the manager know and take it off the bill. There was no offer to replace the dish or bring her something else to eat. After that, we never saw him again. My wife eventually asked another server for tea, which a different server brought. Later, another server came by to see if we were finished. I asked how much the eggnog was, and she quoted the price for a bottle, said I just want a glass, she said I'll get you a menu I explained to another waitress I just wanted a glass. He had no support from other employees and it was obvious they did not have enough servers (they had a bunch of bus people, mostly standing around). The floor was chaos and not once did I see a manager come out to access and help. Our food came out piece meal with items missing. We knew we were not getting refills because at that point Michael's total concentration was getting food and drink orders from the 12 top and making drinks. Michael came by and was extremely apologetic and we assured him it was not his fault. We all used to work in the business and knew where the fault fell. Management! As we exited there were numerous open tables with at least 20 people waiting to be seated. We were glad to get out of the chaos. I sent a review through First Watch's internal comment section but was ghosted hence the Yelp review.
