Now, there is a developed parking area, a mile-long boardwalk with lots of places to rest, walk down to the water, swim, etc. There are signs describing flora and fauna. The park even has a Pavillion large enough for sizable gatherings and events. There is security present and it seems very family friendly. I am impressed. Niceville has grown up. This was a really nice and clean park. They had expanded since I last went to it a few years back…read more They had several walk/run paths around the park area; 1/4th mile and two 1/3 mile paths. The smallest, 1/4th mile, was around the water pond that has a water fountain going. There were two pavilions at opposite ends of that path. A few dicks have found their way here adding to the feel of the park. There is also a basketball court with benches. A playground with a couple of play gyms. I didn't venture toward that area as it was toward the back entrance of the park. Two large grass areas as well. This park was built where the old water treatment facility use to be. This place is a way better option. My only negative is it doesn't allow animals because this would be a great dog walking area. Service animals are allowed of course.

It has a small zip-line, numerous slides, monkey bars and modern swings and other cool equipment. Plenty of benches, porta-potty and plenty of parking. Best time to come is in the morning or late afternoon since the park equipment can get hot during the day. They also have a small dog park across from the parking lot.

This dog park is located on the road that goes past the sonic and ollie's, up the hill to a four…read moreway, and then take a left. It is pretty bare bones for a dog park, and it seems as if there hasn't been much updating in years. They have a side for smaller dogs and a side for larger breed dogs; however, people love to bring in their beloved chihuahua and then proceed to get angry when a mastiff tries to play with it.. common sense here people. They have an "in ground" water bowl with a faucet for the dogs on both sides. For the dogs they have three concrete tubes to...go through? They have a incline board for them to walk over, and then one plywood board with a hole cut in the middle for a dog to jump through. Other than that it's just a larger open space for dogs to run in a caged in area. Would be nice for them to add some more dog related activities into the park. There are two benches with covering to sit under for the humans. As well as a bag dispenser for you to ACTUALLY pick up after your dog..*cough cough* Also.. there is no lighting after sunset so beware..
