I used this service to send a fairly high end PC and monitor to my best friend. I paid for the service as well as $4,000 in insurance. Not only did the computer arrive completely destroyed, but the packaging shows they have no experience in this area as well. We're talking about basic things such as removing the GPU. I paid for this service on 1/6/2021. We're almost into April and not only have I not been able to get the PC replaced, but they are still trying to only cover $2000 of the damage. Maybe their other services are good, but for computer shipping do not use them. This has been a huge time sink and I've lost a really nice PC in the process. read more

I create bronze sculptures portraying peoples of the American West; cowboys, Native Peoples, farmers, ranchers, historic lawmen & outlaws. Navis Pack & Ship were hired to pack and ship a very complicated and tall bronze sculpture of an historic Native American warrior holding a tall lance which extended high above the warrior's head. This bronze has been broken in shipping in the past, and I was concerned it wouldn't arrive at our client's home in one piece. The packers at Navis did such an outstanding job seeing to the secure placement of the bronze and protecting the entire sculpture and the lance with extra strong foam layers, that it arrived in perfect shape. This is our second use of Navis and both were terrific. For this particular case we were shipping hand-blown pieces of antique crystal, portions of which were paper thin, as a donation to a museum. Navis's quoting process was straightforward and transparent - including the insurance portion, and the pricing was very reasonable. When they picked up the glassware at our home, they expertly packed it for transport to their shipping location in Dallas - where they repacked it for the long-haul journey. On the receiving end, they arranged for a "white glove" delivery at the museum, so that the curator could see that each piece had arrived intact. The delivery firm removed all packing materials after they were done. I was happy with their professionalism leading up to my move. Unfortunately, during the move, they lost two of the legs to my Crate & Barrel leather sofa and drilled the screws which had attached the legs to my desk, through the desktop. I discovered this well after my move as my belongings had been kept in storage for some time after an international voyage as I had told them they would be. When I contacted Marc's office about the damages, they asked for pictures. After receiving the pictures, he told me that it was too late for an insurance claim. As it's not a huge amount of money, I was surprised (that he would even want to file a claim, and that) he chose not to assume the small cost of paying for his team's errors for a client who spent well over $20,000 on a move. I was disappointed by this approach and can no longer recommend their services. read more

I recently used Navis to ship a Lladro figure from Illinois to Michigan. The figure did have a small break which is why it was being sent to a repair shop in Michigan. It arrived in Michigan in 10 pieces. The person I sent it to sent me photos of the packing job they did. It was the worst job of packing I've ever seen. They didn't even try to pack it properly and prevent it from breaking. Besides that they charged me $650.00 to ship 15lbs. When asked to refund some of the shipping costs they laughed. I can't believe they advertise the shipping of fine art and antiques. Bad service and bad customer service. A terrible combination. read more

I see that this Navis Pack & Ship has underpacked, misdelivered, and not followed up with Insurance claims on Antiques purchased from Heritage Auctions with other customers. I am adding my experience as well. From reading the other comments here, and from my personal experience, Please let me STRONGLY recommend not buying from Heritage Auctions unless you are able to GO IN PERSON to view bid and pick up the items you are interested in. Navis Pack & Ship is a designated shipper for Heritage Auctions. I had been communicating with Heritage Auctions regarding a 5 INCH TALL mug I purchased over the internet. Heritage does not ship. Not even something as easy as a mug. They give excuses, and they suggest that perhaps if it was something easy, they could consider shipping themselves. But if they cant ship a mug, they won't ship anything. So we contacted Navis Pack & Ship. They said they would ship the item. We were charged $110.00 to ship our 5 inch tall mug from Dallas to San Francisco Bay. That was for "economy shipping" that would take 7-10 days. (Not even Priority shipping! What would that have cost?) The box eventually arrived, and according to the FedEx labeling, the box, packing peanuts, item, tape and paperwork weighed 4 pounds. I checked with FedEx, and they said the retail customer postage charge for that box was $13.16. I was charged $110.00!! Every business is entitled to make a profit, but $97.00 in overcharge is EXCESSIVE. I would avoid this shipper. If you bid at Heritage auctions, try to do so in person. Even though the shipper does adequate job at packing and shipping, they are dishonest, and cannot be trusted with valuable items. The service by this shipper certainly does not justify the high charges. read more

After purchasing some framed pictures at auction and reviewing my shipping choices amongst local vendors, I ended up choosing Navis for both value and professionalism. The insurance I choose was far more than I paid for the pieces, as they were very hard to find and the replacement value was significant. Lo and behold, UPS lost the shipment. It was a pallet with three framed pictures on it and Navis was exceptionally helpful with me in all aspects including filling out the paperwork to get the insurance check. Which we never ended up needing as the pallet was found and delivered to my home in perfect condition. I live out of state and purchased a piece of artwork from an auction held by David Dike Fine Art in Dallas, Texas. I am not a reseller and this was my first auction purchase so I called Navis Pack and Ship to get a quote. After speaking with Samantha I knew I didn't have to waste anymore time calling the other shippers on the list. She sent me a professional quote, answered all my questions, and kept me in the loop during the entire process. They have an efficient process for tracking quotes in the system as well. The item sold for more than I initially expected and I called to adjust the insurance. They pulled my account up in 5 seconds and let me know what the price difference would be. They coordinated picking up the item at the gallery, gave me a time frame for shipping and packed it up remarkably well. It took me almost 45 minutes to unpack and the painting arrived in perfect condition. They made a custom box of the heaviest cardboard I'd ever seen, used heavy duty bubble wrap, extra cardboard to protect from punctures, tissue paper, and even preservation wax paper. It took someone a minimum of 90 min to pack the painting. During the entire process they kept me in the loop every step of the way. I always appreciate it when a business sets up reasonable expectations for the customer and then exceeds every one of them. Moving experiences are always bad, but I didn't think it would be this horrible. They bubble wrapped my ironing board but left my expresso machine in a box to be thrown around and bent, glad my $9 ironing board survived the move though. There was almost zero logic to the order in which they stuffed the boxes. And the coup de grâce was today when I removed my TV out of its box to find there are no longer any power cords or cables associated with my unit. They literally just wrapped the TV, tossed the remote into the box (unwrapped) then discarded the power cord. I had to use these guys in a pinch and boy am I sorry... I would have been better off packing my car and just throwing out everything else. read more

This shipper is a designated shipper for Heritage Auctions. A plate was purchased at a Heritage auction in 2/14. The the plate was shipped with full insurance by Navis.Shipping charges were very high. Item arrived with a crack. Claim was filed with the shipper in 3/14. As of the date of the review, only promise to pay was received, but no actual funds. I would avoid this shipper, if you bid at Heritage auctions.
