I don't like writing this review, but I had one of the most uncomfortable retail experiences here. I wanted to buy uhaul boxes, and didn't realize that I wasn't going to a uhaul specific location, but no big deal. They don't offer bundle discounts if you buy 20/25 boxes like uhaul, but fine I was already there. I was prepared to pay more money per box. Once I checked out I went to my car and checked uhaul prices, I was charged $4 for medium boxes, $39 for 10 medium boxes. At uhaul it's $39 for 20 boxes. I came back apologizing saying I'm sorry but with the price 2x as much I needed to return them. The owner was *angry* raising his voice saying there was no price difference arguing with me, as I had the site open ready to show him. He angrily waved me off saying fine and a woman began to refund me. She was huffing, rolling her eyes, acting irritated with me. She didn't refund me tax (they do everything manually), and when i pointed that out and asked to do at first she repeatedly refused...umm that's illegal. Finally she did, with a very unpleasant attitude. At the end I softly said, hey I hope you can understand where I'm coming from. You guys charge 2x as much as uhaul, and I should showed my phone to her. She aggressively raised her voice shutting me down waving me off. Well. Alright. I went to uhaul and bought 20 boxes for $39. Instead of 10 for $39. Most aggressive retail experience I've had. Just...feral. I work retail myself...I was kind, calm, respectful the entire time :-/. read more

Went to The Ship Shop to have some notary work done. Mr Sanders, (the owner) was very meticulous about everything, friendly, helpful, and did a great job for what I needed. I also needed to fax the notarized paperwork to the company I needed it for, and he took care of that as well for me. Great service from a mom and pop business. read more

I hate writing reviews like this, because I too am a small business owner. I shipped a package from this shop on 10/31 and it shows that it never arrived into UPS's hands but was accepted by the shop. I called the shop to see if it was left behind and to see if they could check to see. The employee wasn't willing to help, so I asked for the owner. He got on the phone and was immediately angry with me for suggesting something was left behind. He went on to tell me that he doesn't make a penny for accepting my pre-paid packages (which is I know is incorrect because I used to work with a shipping shop personally). I asked him to stop raising his voice at me, and as a local resident I would think he would be willing to help me locate this package. His answer...."Call UPS and have fun trying to find it." and then he hung up on me. I've read some poor reviews of this place on Facebook before, but had been giving him the benefit of the doubt. Beware - and know that there are several other ship shops in Trophy Club and Roanoke, and I would advise driving right on down 114 to the next one. In reponse to owners answer - I called the shop to see if the package was still there because UPS doesn't show that it was ever scanned in to their system. I would think this would be the obvious question any normal customer would ask. Did I accuse him of theft? How ridiculous....I was simply asking if they could do a once over to see if it was left behind because it was an envelope and not a box. He IMMEDIATELY was rude and disrespectful. My husband and I both switched this to being our primary shipping point about a year or so ago after experiencing a TON of issues and delays with the last place we used in TC. The location is convenient, as are the business hours, and we have yet to experience a shipping issue. Neither one of us have ever seen the owner, David, or any of the other workers, with anything but respect. I've watched too many people fail to return the favor unfortunately. I do feel anyone dealing with deliveries in any manor tend to get the short end of the stick when people don't hear what they want. *****Fraud warning**** The man who works in the store tried to charge me $160 to overnight a package that should have been $60. He also has a little clip board that he shows you stating that it is an email that he received saying nothing is shipped via airmail anymore. That UPS, FEDEX and USPS only use ground transportation. We all know that is NOT TRUE. I believed him the first time. He said it was because they were remote?!?! They are in a suburb outside of Charlotte, NC. I left and went to a UPS store in Keller and was charged only $60. They laughed when I told them what he said about everyone ONLY using ground transportation. Shame on The Ship Shop! read more

Owner is hateful, rude, unprofessional. Refused to help me even when the client he was with demanded it as he was doing a long notary service ; owner refused to speak to me or print my paper I had already emailed which took less than 1 minute in total. He shouldn't own a business or speak with people if he is nothing but hateful and hateful inconsiderate of their time. Waited 15-20 minutes for one printed page and wouldn't be spoken to if another client didn't INSIST TWICE and refuse to be helped until you helped me. read more

Supporting this local business very personalized service it may take some time because they are a small and they don't have a lot of workers but they make sure that you are well taken care of and your packages are safe. Overpriced and lying about shipping charges. As otters have stated, the girls working there are very nice (although too new and inexperienced). The guy who owns the shop knows a lot but makes up reasons to overcharge. Far better off going to a post office. read more

Sent a Federal Express Overnight letter from this location. I have never used this location before and won't again. So disappointed that this time sensitive envelope was not received until 2 days later. You pay a lot of money for a guaranty that an express overnight will be delivered. I have used FedEx overnight for years and never had a problem. Called Fed Ex and they confirmed the request never came from this store until 24 hours later. read more

The owner was disrespectful to my wife and refused service for no reason after she waited for 40 minutes.

I've used this place a few times since convenient to our home. The service has always been friendly and professional, and I've never had any issues with mail arriving as expected. In fact, I was particularly pleased (and surprised!) when I mailed our son's new passport to Germany where he was temporarily living, with UPS, and paid an 'economy price'. We expected it to arrive about the following Monday. (It was the prior Wed, later afternoon.) However, it arrived on Friday, despite paying for the 'cheapest UPS shipping option'! That told me they did a great job of packaging it up and sending it as best needed. I appreciate this shop! read more

I mail a package to my son in Korea on Jan 4th 2021. It is now Jan 13th 2021 and the post office never received my package from this place. I called the post office and they told me that they picked their packages at 12noon and my actual label was not created until after 4pm. I was instructed by the post office to file a claim and contact The ship shop. When I did the old man who serviced me was rude and defensive and told me that I was saw him create the label which I did but I also saw him make several errors on it. And then he told me I was accusing him of stealing my package when I never did. I just told him what the post office told me!! He was rude and hung up on me and did not offer any help at all!!! He was the one that told me to ship it that way because 'they never fool with Our military guys packages' !! When I tried to call him back he blocked my number!! He stole my sons PS5 and the other contents of the package! I am filing a police report!!!! He is a complete butt hole!! And rude as hell!!! Also, I never even gave this man a tracking number or got a chance to tell him what I shipped! He knew exactly what I was talking about and all I told him was my name and the date that I was in there and from there he just got mad and very, very defensive and if that was not suspicious then I don't know what is!!! read more

I love The Ship Shop! I have used it mostly as a printing service for both personal things and for PTA things. The fewer times I have had to ship something have also been great experiences. The staff and owner take their time to explain everything, which I appreciate. The prices are incredibly reasonable as well. read more

Great place to get copies and passport photos done. Kathy the owner is a great person. She went out of the way to get the exact requirements I had for my photos.
