I have been banking with NFCU for over 15 years. NFCU is a nationwide credit union, however I have noticed the service and dependability have began to lapse. Simple things like stocking the ATM with money over holidays seems to be a problem. Vehicle loan rates aren't even close to competitive. I attempted to finance a used vehicle loan with them. Their offer was 2.5% higher than other credit unions. Thats huge! Schools First Credit Union, San Diego County Credit Union and LBS Financial all came in with offers at least 2% lower. It's quite ridiculous and honestly Im beginning to lose faith in them. Save yourself the hassle and take your banking elsewhere. read more

I walked in this morning to ask about a check I deposited that still hasn't shown up after a day. The first person I saw brushed me off, told me it should appear within a few hours, and didn't let me speak to anyone at the desk. Her response and approach were not professional, and she should have allowed me to speak to someone who could actually help. I trusted what she said, but I've been checking constantly and my deposit still hasn't come through. read more

I've been to this branch a few times lately just trying to get a simple statement, and the first two visits were honestly pretty frustrating. I was given the wrong info both times, and on my second visit I was basically told there was nothing they could do. I left feeling pretty brushed off. When I came back the third time, I asked to speak with a manager, and Heera came out. Not sure of her exact title, but she handled everything the way you'd hope someone in charge would. She stayed calm, let me explain what happened without interrupting, and actually listened even though I was visibly upset and little loud. She apologized for the trouble and explained why my statements hadn't been generated -something no one had ñ explained before. She made sure I'd get what I needed and even offered to mail it or send it through my app so I wouldn't have to come back again. I just want to say thank you for having someone like Heera at this branch. She really turned a frustrating experience into a positive one. read more

Have many accounts with Navy Fed - Soon to be zero. Screwed up my minimum required distribution 2 years in row. Their IRA department and advisors are te worst - ill trained combined with very confusing forms. They require you to work with customer service representatives supposedly trained on IRA'S when ruled and actions are handled by back office - you the customer can have no communication with back office. Hence communication errors. Terrible errors cost me money - going somewhere else. read more

This has been my banking institution since 1993, they've always taken good care of myself and my family.

I must get lucky every time I come to this location because I have never had a bad experience here. The previous reviews baffle me. Every teller I have ever had is always nice and friendly. They complete the transactions I need done and always smile and thank me before I leave. I am always greeted at the door when I come in, too. A few times when I drive up to the atm, it has been out of service. No problem. I just drive around and park then use 1 of the other 2 atms at the front. I have also used the teller on the right side drive thru. Always had quick and friendly service there too. If you have lowered or small cars, the drive thru atm may be hard to access. Sometimes if I don't get right up against the curb in my commuter, I have to roll my window all the way down to be able to reach the buttons. I don't have that problem with my SUV though, lol. Hope to see better reviews for this location, as previous ones are not that recent. read more

Most recently me and my brother opened an  account with Navy federal because my father banks there.  I was very impressed with the level of service I received by our client representative Heera.  Not only was she efficient, she was very thorough and knowledgeable with the products this banks offers.  She opened accounts for my brother and I  but didn't just stop there.  she asked about our other accounts at chase and asked about our rates.  Long story short we left that day with not only our basic savings and checking but an auto refi and credit card with balance transfer.  Wow wish we had done this switch sooner but because of her we are now a full time member. Kudos to navyfed for having such amazing, knowledgeable and professional employees. read more

Today my day was brightened, thanks to my visit at Navy Federal. Typically I never have to go into the branch physically, but today was one of those days. I was able to be greeted by a lovely associate which led me to marvelous Brian and Ryan, they are the most vibrant, professional and educational individual I've came across in a customer service environment in a a while. Thankfully, I was able to get so many things done today off of my to do list, including being educated, on something I was unfamiliar with they were so helpful and kind and patient eager to help. I loved my experience at this location. I was utilizing the ATM and while having issues with my transaction Heera took the time to walk me through it . She was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. While assisting me she asked me where I bank and if I enjoy my current financial institution. During the conversation she took the time to ask additional questions as to how am I currently utilizing my accounts and she made recommendations mentioning the CDs and other products Navy Federal offers. I wish I had the time to discuss further but I loved how she gave me her card and told me to contact her at any time. I really enjoyed her initiative and assistance. She truly made my day. We came to this branch with my son to pick up a check for his pre-approved car loan. I've never been to a Navy Federal branch where the people working there come off as rude and unfriendly. We waited for 30 minutes (if not more) and it wasn't even busy. We were told there were 3 people ahead of us and when it would appear we were next, a woman comes out, talks to another lady up front, they look over at us, and then call someone else in. Not sure what that was about but it's safe to say we don't plan on coming to this branch anymore. Literally, our first negative experience with Navy Fed. read more

Went to the branch to get a new card since the bank had notified me of some suspected activity (I didn't make) and deactivated my card. I was greeted as I walked in and directed to the teller for my issue. The teller was polite and very helpful. The process took about 5 mins and got my new card on the spot. I'm leaving this review because I noticed the two star rating before heading to the branch and was ready to receive the worst service ever. Quite the opposite! Worst Navy federal in Temecula the consultants will sit at their desks having you wait 30min to an hour, I waited over an hour just to get a seat with one of them and all I wanted to do was apply for a credit card which is no more than a 5 minute process absolutely ridiculous. read more

Right after leaving on a combat deployment, these thirsty vultures stopped the automatic payment I'd coming out of a banking account *with them*, for a vehicle loan THEY HAD JUST REFINANCED, then they charged off the loan as a negative asset, and illegally reported me to a collection agency (woefully ironic, when one stops to consider that they market themselves as a military credit union). read more

Ryan!!! He's your guy 1000%. Went in to remove and add a credit card. My boyfriend came in to open an account. Super great and terrific guy! Super knowledgeable! He's a definite teacher and super informative. He helped us understand how to use a credit card and use money and build credit wisely. Honestly this guy deserves a raise and to make what he genuinely deserves. He's super welcoming, reassuring, and sweet! The place was packed when we went in and they helped us pretty quickly. I wish to thank 2 people who helped me during the 35 day Government Shutdown 2018-2019, Elisa Tolfo and Shelly Adkins. I am a retired Coast Guardsman and a GS Federal Government Employee. I was facing a delay of 1/3 of my income. Just like everybody else affected by the shutdown I had bills to pay and my car note was with Navy Federal. I've been a member of NFCU for many years, and I love being part of this credit union. The terms of memberships aren't too difficult; you just need to know someone that's a member and they can "sponsor" you to membership. Or if you're an active, reserve, or retired member of any of the armed forces, not just the US Navy. The biggest gripe I have with this Navyfed is the massive lines that seem to form at any time of any day. The drive-thru moves fairly quickly, but sometimes you need to handle transactions in a more discreet manner than yelling into a microphone. Saturdays are by far the worst days. If you need to speak with a personal banker, you're best bet would be on a Tuesday or Wednesday at 10am. The wait won't be too long, but there will likely still be wait. The customer service at this branch is top notch. If you're Filipino there are a few Filipino employees here that speak Tagalog as well. Of course there are also Spanish-speaking employees as well. They also have one of those awesome coin counters too. So now you have a place for all that loose change! Get in line or go home... read more

Perhaps management should pay closer attention to what the branch staff needs so that their unhappy demeanor doesn't spill over to the customers, who are simply trying to conduct business regarding their own money. By far the worst bank drive thru and atm machines in the bank industry. Drive up atm machine is always out of service. And when it works it's the slowest atm machines and tallest machines I've ever seen. Pulling up you have to pull like 24-36 inches off to be able to open your car door and pretty much get out of your car and then stand up. You guys are a bank for crying out loud. Can't you guys buy new atm machines or step your game up a little more. Specially for our armed forces / soldiers. If I can give you guys 0 stars I really would. I'm all about helping folks in the military and stuff, but this Navy fed branch left a bad taste in my mouth and makes me question the actions at this branch. A little over 2 years ago, I joined the car business... I didn't know a single thing about it, but I took a shot at it and I'm still in it today and loving it. About a year and a half ago, I had a client who said he had his own 1.9% APR financing through Navy fed lined up.... low to mid-600 credit scores, but insisted that if we matched their rate, he would finance with us. We came back at 9%, so of course, Mr. Customer opted for his Navy fed financing and bought my GLI. After finance, I followed the customer to this Navy fed branch to get his check for our car. Once inside, we sat down with a banker and started to draft the check... she asked me some questions about the car and she continued to talk about the 1.9% APR my customer was going to get... she quoted him payments, and Mr. Customer ended up extending his term to 66 months. We got the check and we left! When I went back to my finance guy, I told him what happened with the terms and payments and so on... after inputting in all the figures, (sales price, taxes, etc), he got the payment they quoted him with a realistic rate of 10% instead! Again, I was just a new salesman, what do I know? I'm just happy as hell that I sold a car! For my customer however, things weren't what this branch made them out to be.... So far, I have been here twice and have received nothing but excellent customer service. On my first visit, I needed to see a banker because I had a grip load of questions lol. I came in on July 4th weekend and my wait was only about 5-10 minutes on a pretty busy Saturday. I was seen by Elisa Tolfo and she was amazing!!! She's made my transition from WF to NFCU a real smooth one. On my 2nd visit, I just needed to deposit a check and there was no line. Again, I had amazing customer service. I'm very new to NFCU, but so far, I'm loving everything about it! My only gripe is the small parking lot in such a busy plaza. Other than that, NFCU is awesome. read more

I showed up to this location about 15 minutes until 5 and there were a ton of cars in the drive thru even after their closing house. The inside was closed due to corona virus, but the staff was super friendly and helpful and had a new debit car out to me very quickly. I don't know why this place has such bad reviews! Be careful at this branch! The supervisor/manager took it upon herself to turn off my husband bank card without his approval and lied saying he told her to do it. He was out of town and NEVER approved this. Makes me wonder what other shady things she's doing there. People need to remember to just do their job. I do not recommend this bank at all. read more

October 2022, i went into the bank to deposit a check which i would normally do every two weeks, The checks are from my Husband pension because he is deceased.. when we were married, i kept my maiden name and after proving to navy federal who i was on several occasions, there was a notation with my acct stating as such. October 7th, 2022, I went into the bank to deposit one of my checks and this older teller was giving me problems then she takes my check and leave the window, well after 5 minutes of standing and waiting, i had a view of her talking to this Girl, so i went over to where she and this Girl were sitting. This girl who claim to be the assistant Manager I asked this girl could they speed up the process because i had to leave to pick up my grandson. she basically snared at me and said well, we are gonna have to run this because we are not sure (with a slight snare on her face). I asked this little asst Manager for the check back and she said something under her breath so i responded by saying she act like a Heffa, well approximately 20 min after leaving the bank, i received a call from a Man who said he was Security, he asked a couple of questions then hangs up. I though about it and the next day, i called that same number and this Man denied he had called me. I had witnesses because he was on speaker phone. It was very clear that someone from Navy Federal credit union had given a total stranger my Information. One week later i went in to speak with the Manager (Robert) and i explained to him what happened, he did not mix words very much , However, it was apparent to me that he believed his Assistant Manager but i still spoke kindly to him... The very next days, i received a letter from Navy Federal Credit Union stating "if there are any other incidence like this one, You will not be allowed back into the bank and this is without even hearing my complete side of what happened". I have been with Navy Federal for over 13 years and never had an issue with them but i was so shocked and sadden to know they would treat an older lady in this manner. No respect. so Now when i go there, they claim that they have to hold my checks for 2 days before i can cash them. Is that Vengeful? ln my opinion, Absolutely!! and now two of Navy Fed tellers treat me as if i am there worst enemy and i did nothing wrong. read more
