Motion sensor lights, good size fridge, tasteful decor, clean linens, laundry facility, room has to be clean at least every 3 days, and good location (near base gym, hospital, and shoppette store). Within walking distance to most training school house. The only other base lodging that compare to this one is KMCC inn at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. The camper slots are squished very close together. The roads are full of holes and people park their boat trailers all over the place. We were not there to camp, though; we stayed in a cabin that has not been upgraded in years--it had dusty and stained wood walls, a wall A/C unit that struggled to keep the room cool, rotten and peeling siding and trim on the outside, a grill that looked like it'd fall over if you tried to use it, furniture that was old, scarred and didn't look fit to sit on, a bathroom with a toilet not bolted to the floor, no stopper in the sink, a rusty soap dish and toothbrush holder, a non-working exhaust fan light, and dust/dirt on the baseboards and corners, a bed with a torn bedspread and pillows so thin you could hardly tell you had one, a kitchen with scarred and old cookware, bare minimum utensils, cups and plates and no dish towels. The one good thing was that it smelled clean when you walked in, but that was deceiving. The only reason we stayed there was that we were with family that chose the place and it was convenient, but I would not go back if you paid me and neither would they.

This morning, I went downstairs early for breakfast so my wife could sleep in. I arrived about 10 minutes before breakfast opened, so I took a walk along the boardwalk while waiting. Breakfast is only served from 7:00-9:00 a.m., which seems unusually limited for an area known for charter fishing, where many guests are up and on the water early. When breakfast opened at 7:00, I entered the dining area and began preparing my breakfast. An employee then took the food out of my hand because I was not wearing my bracelet. I understand having rules and requiring bracelets, and I have no problem following them. However, the way the situation was handled was unnecessary and embarrassing. As I was returning to my room, the lobby attendant then accused me of taking a red Gatorade. It was actually a Coke that I had brought down from my room. I told the employee that there are cameras throughout the lobby and suggested they review the footage before accusing a guest of stealing. Later, I returned to breakfast with my children, making sure that all of us had our bracelets on. I then noticed approximately 10-12 other guests eating breakfast without bracelets. This was extremely frustrating after the way I had just been treated. My issue is not with enforcing resort policies. My issue is the inconsistent enforcement and the way guests are treated. I have been a loyal guest at South Beach Resort for years, and I have never experienced anything like this. Being treated as though I was attempting to steal food and then being accused of taking a drink that I had brought from my own room was extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, this experience has changed my opinion of the resort. I hope management reviews what happened and addresses the way these situations are handled so other guests do not have a similar experience.

I chose this boutique over the other one down the street because of price, parking, and convenience. The hotel has pictures of every room on their website, what the balcony will be and your view, the bathroom area, everything, so there were no surprises. I booked online and was charged pretty quickly, as they tell you up front. There are about 3-4 hours where a staff member is there to check in, and if for some reason you can't go during that time, they will leave your information out for you. Parking was easy, and there are plenty of well-lit spaces. At night, the spots on Scenic are usually taken by patrons of Bacchus and the Deck, but you should be able to still find a safe one. You I was greeted by the friendliest employee (Jordan, I believe), and I was made to feel like an old friend very quickly. There is a code to enter the room. My room was super cute and cozy. I was in 205, immediately off the elevator. I had a small balcony that is directly over the door of the hotel. The bathroom is large - so much space. There was a stand up shower only, and there could have been better lighting, but there was a lot of space in there. Even though my room was immediately at the elevator, I never heard a sound from anyone. There is a communal Keurig on each floor. i opted out of housekeeping for my short weekend stay, but I heard them when I was getting ready and they sounded friendly speaking to another guest. Be sure to head over the Bacchus and the Deck for your discounted meal. Both restaurants are just across the street and they're local favorites. You can walk over to the coffee/book store, the wine and spirits shop is a short walk, along with some little gift stores and even a take out sushi place. You can get to the beach by foot and there is a pedestrian crosswalk just down the street. I will certainly recommend Hotel Pass Christian to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay for a nice weekend.
