I've been here twice in the past two weeks, mostly because my co-worker can't get over how good the food was the first time! Everything on the buffet was fresh and plentiful, and I appreciated the desserts and chai were included. I was sad to find out on Wednesday 5/6 that they now only have a buffet on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They do have a lunch platter: chicken curry, veg korma, rice and naan for...I don't remember, maybe $10? The korma was great but the curry was a little light on the chicken. Regardless, this is a great choice for Indian especially on that side of town. I was also reviewing their menu and was delighted to see that they have Momos, which I believe are Nepalese dumplings. I will definitely try them next time I'm there! The mango lassi was fabulous too, and I noticed that they have Rose lassi and lime soda as well. read more

Nawab's is still my favorite Indian restaurant in the area! We dine in and order take out often. We went out with a larger group and they were able to seat us right away. The food did take a little while but that is to be expected with a larger group. When the food came out, it was fantastic, as always! It was several of our group members first time there and they loved it. This will always be our go to spot. read more

From a 5 star review to a 1 star review in just over an hour! Yup, that happened. When I discovered this restaurant last year I was just so happy. The food and service were wonderful, and I couldn't wait to take my friends here the next time I was in town. Last night I was finally able to, and after talking this place up so we were all anxious to go as we are huge fans of Indian food. Then the disappointment set in. We arrived at about 7:45. They close at 9:00 so we were there with plenty of time before they closed. The awesome service I had experienced the last time was gone though, as it took over ten minutes before our server even acknowledged us and bought us some water, we had been there over half an hour before he took our order and by 9:00 when they were scheduled to close we were still sitting around waiting for our food. Nobody came by to apologize for the wait, or to tell us our food would be brought out shortly. When we were finally able to nail down the hostess who sat us, to ask how long it until our food would be ready she said she would check on it but just wandered around the restaurant without another care in the world. Finally we had enough and just stood up to leave. She was standing literally right behind me as we all got up, but did not say anything or even acknowledge us as I threw down a few bucks on the table to pay for our sodas as we gathered our things before we left. We drove around looking for somewhere else to eat but most places were closing by this time, so we ended having Dominos delivered to our house. I was left with a hunger for good Indian food and egg on my face for talking this place up, and tbh more than a small amount of anger to think off all the food we ordered going to waste because they never delivered it to us or had the courtesy to tell us when it would be ready. Any restaurant that can't get the food to your table is just to be avoided. read more

I called them and I was given excuses about staffing and so sorry. No offer to replace or refund my money for an order that they admit to messing up! read more

The food here is great, I've only come across one item on the menu I didn't care for. I prefer to order from the menu, but others that have gone with me have had the buffet and they enjoyed the variety. The atmosphere is nice and the tables are spaced so you don't hear everything going on at the next table over. The major issue with this restaurant is the amount of time it takes to get your food and the male server who is inattentive at best and dismissive at worst. He demonstrates poor hospitality. The last few times we've eaten here it's taken an hour (or more) to get our meals from the time we ordered to the time the food was placed on the table. It's very frustrating. read more

A group of us decided to revisit Nawab's restaurant in Springfield MO on 4/23/26 because we had enjoyed the food and had received excellent customer service before. This time the experience was not good. Although we were the only customers there, the food took over 40mins to arrive. The lamb dish served had 4 thumb size pieces of meat and a lot of gravy. We were told that lamb was expensive so to keep prices affordable only 4-5 pieces of meat was served. The medium spice was very hot so we couldn't enjoy our meal. The server had his back turned to our table because his eyes were glued to the tv. The table was missing cutlery and we had to ask him twice for lemon slices requested earlier. While speaking to him, he left us mid sentence without saying a word, to answer the phone. As we were leaving, he thanked us for coming and I had to ask him for the Began Saraf takeout meal I had ordered earlier (which had no identifiable eggplant in the entire container). You can't tell from the outside, but inside is super nice! It was more classy than I was expecting from the outside. You could come dressed causal, or slightly dressed up on a date. Either or would work here. The menu is expansive and there is a lot to choose from. There are no pictures on the menu, so it's kind of hard to imagine what you're getting. They do have descriptions with each item on the menu, so that helps. My friend and I ordered the Veggie Stuffed Pakhora, and the Paneer Naan. Both delightful. The spices were flavorful in the Pakhora and the dipping sauces were great; a dark sweet sauce and a slightly spicy green sauce. The Naan was warm, and also so good. The filing was light, but still very noticeable and tasty. Both 5/5. I decided on the Chicken Tikka Masala. Basic, I know, but a good dish to compare to others I've had at other restaurants. 5/5 was so good and the rice was nice and fluffy. My friend had the black lentil curry and it was also super flavorful and delicious. 5/5 With all of the food we got, I thought we paid a very reasonable price for everything. Pretty decent food - no complaints on quality, and the taste was good, while a little on the mild side. The ambiance is alright; nothing spectacular, but nothing offensive - agreeable and forgettable. The service can be very slow. I've been here a few times, and sometimes I feel forgotten about. Not super fun if you're needing a refill, or to order something new, etc. They've definitely lost money they could have earned because I decided not to order something else after waiting so long for their return. Ordered takeaway on opening night. This is the premier Indian restaurant in town. They offer a large Northern Indian cuisine as well as some Southern offerings. The flavors are very authentic and true to the region. We ordered Vindaloo, Tikka Masala, Spinach Paneer, and Chicken 65, as well as naan. Came in at 8p on Friday night. The smells were amazing when we walked in and I was excited for what was to come. Got seated, waited 15 minutes to give our order. That should have been a red flag. Places our order and the wait continues. 10 minutes later, we got our drinks. Red flag number 2. After an hour, we asked the hostess if she could check on our order, off she went. Not to the kitchen, to the bar, to the table behind us, everywhere but to the kitchen to check on our order. That's the last red flag I needed. We put money on the table for the 3 drinks and left. 3 strikes and I'm out. She didn't show any concern that we were leaving. When you open the front door you are first greeted by incredible aromas indicative of legit Indian fare. The atmosphere is muted and perfect for a leisurely meal. TV's display scenes of Indian street food sampling of numerous native foods. The music is tastefully soothing along with the décor. We were seated immediately upon entry and given waters without ice. It was different: Simplistic but strangely pleasing, served in cooled metal pitchers. We noticed their bar was purposefully frugal, yet fully adequate. Their Indian cocktail seemed more like a dessert so two of us ordered Indian beer (Woodpecker & a blonde) & another a Moscato. We were given extensive menus & adequate time to peruse them before our order was taken by a most helpful, attentive waiter. We had two appetizers: The Chicken Pakora & Chicken Momo as (an appie). The Pakora was good but the Momo was excellent. We also order both the buttered & garlic naan along with orders of Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Saag & the Chicken Tikka Kabob. All were ecstatically excellent...I mean we raved! Even my young granddaughter sampled both appies & the Kabob with gusto! Too stuffed for dessert, we paid, tipped, complimented the staff & departed sated. The two anti-Indian cuisine members of the party became enthusiastic converts. We ate lunch at Nawab for my friend's birthday and it was wonderful. The environment was clean and authentic. We brought a cake and the staff placed it in their cooler until we were ready to cut it. They brought the cake out and played happy birthday for my friend. We absolutely loved the food and the service was great. Would recommend the non veg thali it's absolutely delicious. My husband and I, and our son who was visiting from out-of-state last month, so enjoyed our time at Nawab! Excited for a new Indian restaurant in town, I moved from a big city where we had lots of choices. I read an article online, they said they treat their guests like royalty. I went in for lunch, greeted right away and sat by owner. Menu was the largest menu I've ever seen, very overwhelming for the average person, I saw the look of other diners reviewing the menu in confusion. I believe they should offer a lunch special with more limited offerings. I ordered vege samosas, chicken tikka masala, medium heat. Server was a young girl, not very friendly, struggled answering questions from other diners about the menu. Vegetable samosas arrived, little on the bland side, needed the sauces to give it some taste. Tikka masala came out, nice and hot, rice was fluffy, chicken was a tad chewy and very mild in heat level. There are only two local Indian food restaurants I will go to, and this is one of them. Everything I have tried has had great flavor and just the right amount of spice (when wanted). Ooooo my this was an amazing experience!! The food was so fresh and flavorful! Meats were so tender and just exploded with flavor, absolutely nothing was dry! The sauces weren't thin like I've experienced at other places, but had a perfect consistency and thickness to them. The place was very clean which I always appreciate and the staff really made you feel like you were welcomed. We asked a ton of questions about the menu trying to make decisions and our waiter was sooo helpful!! We will make this place our regular for sure!!
