Yelp 100 2018 Challenge 17/100 [Updated Review] I came in for a second massage a few weeks ago and must say how amazing it was again. When i first went in with Ilyana in March, i still had some stiffness from when I sprained my tailbone in December. I'm an active woman, but sit all day for work which is by no means helpful for a tailbone injury. I didn't think it would ever really get better and would just deal with the stiffness for awhile... Since March, I've had no signs of stiffness or the injury. When Ilyana hits pressure points, she really hits them. I wanted the same focus on my lower back the second time and got it as well as my traps (which i could use right now lol) and I am just so thankful for the continuous wonderful experience where exercising wasn't doing anything and Kaiser really wanted me to go through physical therapy. Tuh. An hour massage months later was all of the physical therapy I needed. Needless to say, i have absolutely no problem paying the prices for these massages. I would come here for a massage every day if I could. There was a Groupon special for a 60 minute elemental massage, decided to give it a try. Booking was easy, able to do it on the same day. They need a credit card to place your appointment, even if you have a Groupon. Once I arrived, I was given a quick tour then I sat in the room with the big comfy couches/bed. They are huge and fluffy, you could fall asleep on those. Yadira, my masseuse, offered me water, tea or wine along with some chocolates. That was wonderful, they were great tasting too, not anything like cheap Hershey's chocolates, these were legit. I filled out my client form then went into the massage room. The room itself was cold, you may want to suggest they put a heater in the room if you get cold easily. Also, when writing down what kind of music you like on your client form, be very specific. I put anything spa like. What was playing during my massage was pop, country, & alternative music. I will have to update my form to say something like "instrumentals." Yadira was great, very strong! She did this awesome thing by putting a towel under my neck and lifting, making my neck crack. She really works on your body and focused on my problem area. They have showers there, make sure to bring a change of clothes. Unless you don't want to use the showers. There were so many different products you could sample in the shower room, lots of face washes, lotions, hair products, etc. they provide razor blades as well. read more

I had such a wonderful and relaxing time at Naya Spa! I came for a 1 hour massage with Irma and was pleased with the experience from start to finish. First, I was greeted by the receptionist who showed me around the spa and offered me tea while I completed a few short forms prior to my treatment. They gather all necessary info about your previous experiences, preferences, and goals for your trip. My masseuse, Irma, read through my forms and made sure to focus on areas with the most discomfort. In the massage room, you get to choose which scented oil you would like to use which I appreciated since I can be picky about scents. Erik Pampalone wrote back asking if 6pm would work- to which I replied "yes it will!" I told my wife about the surprise appointment and told her when and where to go. This was much needed as she just delivered our son about a month ago and our mutual stress levels were at an all time high. Around 5 pm Erik emailed me stating they needed my wife's first and last name to confirm her appointment, at 5:25 I wrote confirming her first and last name. At 6, my wife showed up to a business that was CLOSED. She was quite upset and called taking her frustration out on me -- something that was supposed to relive stress only caused more. Their posted business hours stated they close at 8pm, but for some reason, they decided to close before a CONFIRMED appointment and CONFIRMED PAYING CUSTOMER, showed up. What type of business does this? I sent a very very strongly worded email, the exact copy is below, however I still have yet to receive a reply to this email, something you would think a business owner that cares would have the courtesy to reply to. When making an appointment, be sure to give an exact name otherwise this business may close before you show up. I was so looking forward to go to Naya Spa, after seeing their ad on Facebook. Since I was not recommended to them, I thought I would start out with just Botox, and if I liked it, I would go back for some Juviderm shots. I did go and they were very nice. However, two weeks later, some lines on my forehead were still there, but more importantly, one eyebrow was significantly higher than the other. I called them and sent photos, and went back to see Carolyn today, and she definitely agreed with me. She's the owner and does the injections. Well, thinking that she would correct the eyebrow that was higher than the other, she said it would cost me $350! I could understand if she didn't inject enough Botox originally in the lines, and I needed more, but it's not acceptable that she's the one who is responsible for one eyebrow being higher, and not offering to correct it. Especially, as a new client. I didn't want to argue with her, and I just said, thank you, and walked out, and I will never go there again. I've been getting Botox & Juviderm for several years from some very good people, and they would have never done this. I just felt I wanted to try someone new, and there was a sale going on. Wrong! A hidden gem! It's a little slice of Zen heaven! They left no stone unturned here. Candles and awesome scents everywhere. Relaxing music and beautiful, tranquil decor. I went in to see the Aveda products and received a tour from Alelie. She is so kind and knowledgeable. She gave me an aroma journey and a free oil for my Birthday. What an awesome and caring person she is! I really received what I needed that day, having just had a car accident recently and feeling energetically off balance and drained. Thanks to Spa Week, I was able to try this cute place out. There are some obvious and definitive pros and cons here, but overall it's a nice gem in Chatsworth. Pros: -They take Spa Week gift cards! -Aveda products throughout the spa -Customization!! They take you on a "sensory journey" to align you with your best Aveda oils for your chakras. Whatever you're "drawn to" will be utilized in your treatments. I won't ruin the experience by describing it, but it's the first thing you do. -Attention: Offers of tea, water, or wine while you wait, as well as a variety of chocolates! -Choice of music in your treatment room. (It might be more helpful to see a list, menu-style) Cons: -Super, super small. One restroom, one shower, no lockers, changing room, steam, sauna, jacuzzi, etc. The lounge, while comfy, was also small. If there are other guests, it's like you're sitting with them, which, for me, isn't all that relaxing. -Because of the size, I had to ask if I should change into a robe; it was fine that I wanted to, but it wasn't a given like at most spas. Then, all my stuff was placed in a basket. I was concerned at first, but they cart my stuff to my treatment rooms, so it's always within my reach. -Location. Being right on Devonshire makes for lots of extra noise during treatments. I heard cars zooming by, honking, a motorcycle, and a train! Not as relaxing as it could be. Overall it was a nice place with great service. If only they could purchase more space and maybe invest in some soundproofing, then it'd be even better! read more

I made an appointment for same day and was able to get a 7:30pm with Chrissy. This worked out perfectly as I don't get back home until about 6:00pm on weekdays. The receptionist advised to come at least 15 min prior for some paperwork and when I arrived, I was given a quick tour and settled in their lounge area. The atmosphere is amazing. You are offered a drink of choice (wine, water or tea) along with some chocolate (milk, dark, with or without nuts) while you wait for your masseuse. There is a shower for use after your massage so you can bring your toiletries and a change of clothes. When I got in my appointed room and started, I was able to choose a scent of preference and let the relaxation begin. Let me tell you, Chrissy is just amazing. I have been under some more-than-usual stress as of recent and my upper back/shoulder/neck have been super tense. My knots were very present and I could feel Chrissy really putting some time and effort in trying to loosen them up. There was enough communication from her that made me feel like she is catering to what I was looking for. This was just an overall amazing experience. I would recommend to go if you're in need of a "you" day for some pampering. If you're an avid massage goer, I would look into their memberships because it's a nice savings on a month to month. I can admit that I was given a gift certificate for this spot and was basically the reason I came, but it really was so great that I'm thinking of doing their membership and going at least once a month - it is super worth. I got a massage from Marie and wow...if she would have asked me to do anything, I would have said yes with no hesitation. I was putty in her hands and I definitely melted in her hands... To be clear, this was an impromptu massage, and Marie was more than obliging and worked on the knots in my back and shoulders. This spa was everything I had hoped for plus more! I came here with my mom, sister, and her best friend for my sister's birthday to celebrate with a day of pampering. (perfect since we enjoyed GNO the night before) This was purchased through Groupon and let me just say, WHAT A DEAL! Regularly, the services that we each got were roughly $100, so for $102 for an hour facial and massage, it was a great price. We got a nice tour of the space and were offered chocolate, water, tea, coffee and wine. (my mother and I opted for the wine of course - excellent ice cold Pinot Grigio ) The atmosphere was so tranquil, peaceful, and relaxing. We were seated in the lounge area where there are two big plush sofa bed couch looking pieces of furniture. I don't know how to describe them, but I know that I want some in my house and they were great! We filled out an info sheet with some basic details about ourselves, our desired outcomes, preferences, past spa service experiences etc. They also had a tipping guide which was super helpful! (15% about $15, 20% about $18) I really appreciated this because I had such a great experience, I wanted to make sure I gave the girls what they deserve. Good service = Good tip. They then provided us with different cards we were drawn to as well as scents we liked. After the particulars were over,we were taken into the private rooms and service started. Tina did my facial and it truly was amazing. First of all her hands were so soft and she was the sweetest. I have acne prone and sensitive skin so we got to talk about what i currently use, what I like, what I want to focus on, and she asked if I was pregnant (they use an electromagnetic current on your face to rid it of bacteria) she made me feel comfortable and relaxed. The bed you are in is heated you guys. It was heaven! The facial was my favorite. Patty performed my massage and she was very STRONG. I have scoliosis and I put that down as well as that I like medium/hard firmness. She confirmed the pressure with me and told me if at anytime it is too strong to let her know. She had no issues when we started and I asked for a little less pressure and I got the best massage of my life. She got out every knot from the top to the bottom. I wear high heels often and she really did a number on my feet. I told her that I have issues with the right side of my back and she took great care of it. The oil scent was sooo soothing. I could tell she had been doing this for a long time and was not shy about getting in there. After y services, I used their shower which was to die for. I want to model my shower after that bathroom. So luscious I could have stayed in there the whole day! Shampoo, Conditioner, body wash, lotion face wash, brushes, combs, shower caps, you name it, they had it. slippers for the shower. In a city known for over the top lip filler and frozen faces, it is SOOOO wonderful to have found this absolute GEM! I have been here six times, and I will tell you each time it's better than the time before. You can really tell what someone considers acceptable by how they themselves look. Basically if someone walks in the room about to administer Botox on me and they look like some feline creature out of a sci-fi movie...they may not share the same vision of what "beautiful" means. Absolutely no offense to people who love that, but it's definitely not my thing. I like when someone can't tell what's different about me, perhaps I finally slept 8 hours and didn't drink a bottle of wine the night before? I like someone who takes a more artistic approach to using filler and Botox, and makes me look like me, just a teeny bit better. I have been everywhere...from Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Calabasas, and many places in between... and I just couldn't find my "person"! Well, I found him now. I swear Nia is the place. It's a beautiful facility and the humans inside are even better. A husband and wife own it, I have spent time talking to both of them and I absolutely love them. I went to Naya Spa and Marichu assisted me and did an absolutely excellent job with botox for my forehead. Not only is she a nice, knowledgeable and comforting person, she also handled it without any pain and I couldn't even feel it. I don't like needles and so that was terrific! I got this done almost 5 months ago and it hasn't even worn off much. If you're looking for a new botox person, go to Naya spa and ask for Marachu. The first time it's an affordable $10 per unit. Upon entering, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and an equally friendly massage therapist. This place uses Aveda products religiously. Thus, my journey started off by me picking three chakra cards from the available seven, and then sniffing the scents of the three I chose to determine my chakra for the session. I ended up with Harmony, which is a blend of sandalwood, mandarin, and palmarosa. The receptionist then showed me around the tiny facilities, which consisted of two vichy showers and a comfy lounge area furnished with oversized couches and ottomans, and stocked with teas, Milano cookies, and chocolate. Everything looked clean...still promising. Promising, however, doesn't mean much. As sweet and professional my massage therapist was, I have to say my massage was disappointing. I made it known twice to my therapist that I wanted firm pressure, but she delivered a light-pressure massage that left the knots in my shoulders and back completely intact. Summary: - One star for cleanliness. - One star for nice staff. - One star for e-mailing me my receipt. Businesses that try to kill as few trees as possible in their daily operations are cool. My good friend and I were enjoying an ultimate girl's day out. We did the whole nine yards; workout, manis/ pedis, sushi, and shopping. Naya is located right on Devonshire and just before Topanga Blvd, if you are heading north from De Soto you will see it on the left side...The outside reminds me of the small medical one-story offices. We did a walk in bc we were in the area. We were immediately greeted by one of the owners, Eric and Marie..They were very friendly and accomodated to our last minute request. Naya mostly goes by appointments only to ensure individuality and appropriate amount of time for each patron. We received a tour of the spa. It's a small, but very charming place with excellent attention to detail for each room. I absolutely fell in love with the comfortable lounge couches and the shower is great. Naya only uses Aveda products which I love. They smell lovely and my skin soaks up product well. Btw, did I forget to mention, Belgian chocolates, wine, fruit, crackers, and/or tea upon request? Awesome. Also, music to your own preference in the treatment rooms. We both got massages..I highly recommend Emmanuel. He got all the knots out of my back and was very polite. Massages will vary depending on staff, but I'll try to be as objective as possible. Overall, a bit pricey for what you get, but would still recommend you trying as a first time customer and judge for yourself. Most likely I will not be a repeat. Massage: average, not firm enough when asked. She was very friendly, but I didn't leave with the usual relaxed and refreshed feeling that I experience after a really good massage. I was in Cali for a week & decided to treat myself to a mini spa day. I purchased a Spafinder.com GC. I had a full arm wax, 30min facial, body scrub & massage. Patty gave me my scrub & massage service & Alelie provided my waxing & facial services. I loved the outside walking up the entrance. When I walked in it smelled so relaxing. I'm a spa girl so I LOVE ambiance, it was totally spa energy. The space is small, but it has personality. The waiting area has two large comfy couches. I was offered some chocolate & a glass of Pinot Grigio which was nice. I had both sets of services in different rooms. I changed in the first room & when the service ended I was told to put on a robe & I wasn't given slippers which I didn't love because I was barefoot after my service. The floors to the room looked like it was painted on because it seemed like it was peeling off so you could feel it under your feet. Not fun, but there were slippers in the shower. So I would suggest asking for a pair before. After my scrub was applied I showered in their wicked cool shower! I didn't want to get my hair wet & there was an option for the water to come from the wall instead of up too so that was great. My facial was great, with waxing my skin always peels so it happened again. I think it's just my skin, but the arm wax was worth it! I'd definitely try them out! read more
