I sought out Nayoung and her team after perusing the internet for the best digital perm in the Dallas area. It was my first hair treatment, so I was very nervous. I brought a few pictures and videos of what I wanted, and Nayoung was able to accomplish exactly what I had in mind! I was looking for a blowout-style perm with big, loose curls. It has now been about five weeks. My curls pretty much look the same as when I first got them. They tell you how to best manage your hair afterwards, which includes not washing your hair for a few days (I went a week without getting it wet), not tying your hair back for a couple of weeks, and using the Korean conditioner I purchased from the salon after I wash my hair. (I tried uploading pictures but Yelp won't let me) She has a group of students working with her, which, as a student myself, I enjoyed and appreciated, as all of them were very attentive to me and eager to learn. Everyone was very understanding of my nervousness and answered all of my questions with patience. One student shared with me that among hair students, it is known that Nayoung is the best in the area when it comes to digital perms. It cost me $350, not including tip or the conditioner I purchased. Yes, it was pricey. But having said that, if I were to do the digital perm again, I would go back to Nayoung, who I now trust and have a positive experience with, rather than try out someone new that I don't trust. But it doesn't compensate for the unwanted color I paid 310 dollars for, and the constant staining my hair cause all over my personal belongings because a sealant was not applied on my hair to close the hair cuticle, and BREAKING MY EARRING that I showed Peter and not even an apologize just "Oh!" But after 2 years without a haircut, I desperately needed one! My stylist was so kind about not washing my hair or using a blow dryer or any products. She was even kinder as emotion hit me seeing myself in the mirror and not looking as I did 2 years ago. Gone is the makeup, nails, lashes, hair products that I used to enjoy trying and using. Honestly...if I could give 0 stars I would. Hate to be such a downer since I saw so many good reviews about her, but I personally had a bad experience and won't be coming back. I came in asking for a dry cut--not sure what I was expecting but certainly not for her to sloppily cut it in under 10 minutes and then leave to work on another client. She didn't even bother to ask how I wanted it cut. I thought she might've treated me this way because I'm not her regular clientele, but after going through her reviews, I found another person who had the exact same experience. For this 10-minute fiasco, she told me I would be charged $55. I expressed that I didn't think that was fair since she was charging me for both shampoo & styling even though I didn't ask for them. To that, she said she always charges $55 no matter if a customer wants a wash and styling or not but she bre grudgingly told me she could take off a few dollars this one time. Left incredibly unsatisfied and paid $45 for a cut I could've done myself. Based on her reviews, it seems that Nayoung does have the skills to be an exceptional hairstylist--just not on clients she doesn't think are worth her time. read more

I've been looking for a hair salon to do a Japanese straightening for my daughter and contacted Nayoung. The first contact over the phone was difficult because the person who received the call did not speak or understand well English. It took several messages and calls to communicate and the experience was slightly unpleasant. I explained precisely what I needed and she told me that she could do it starting from $200 which sounded cheaper than other salons were quoting. That convinced me to make an appointment and drive there (I live an hour away). Once onsite, the stylist looked at my daughter's hair and announced that she would charge $1000 for this touch up, then offered a "student" discount at $800. This is higher than any other salon quoted and I felt it was dishonest to attract customers with very cheap prices then increase them dramatically once the customer is onsite. I couldn't obviously get the service at this price and walked away. read more

I drove about 6hrs from Arkansas to Dallas specifically for Nayoung's Japanese permanent hair straightening since I don't have anyone offering the service where I live. It's well worth it! And both Nayoung and Peter are super efficient and friendly. The made the whole process happen for me for under 3 hrs (usually takes longer for me since I have a lot of hair). I just moved here from California and was looking for a good hair salon. Found Nayoung thru yelp and booked an appointment by phone. It was a very quick and easy process to book my appointment. I arrived for my appointment, and she pretty much started my haircut right away. I think I came when it wasn't too busy, but anyhow I think she's good with scheduling her appointments. Nayoung is extremely skilled and professional. Plus she's really fast! I think my haircut was done in about 15 mins. After that, her staff shampooed my hair, and then Nayoung also dried & styled my hair. All that within 30 mins. She does it fast but she is extremely thorough, so I was very impressed. Nayoung and her staff are very efficient! She works with 2 other ladies who help her during the appointment. She gives excellent tips and will tell you if a style is suited for you! Nayoung and her girls are super attentive to their customers. The only downside is that the prices are high and there is a little bit of a language barrier. Otherwise, she does excellent work. I got a digital perm and came back the next day to tone a previous balayage that I had gotten from a different salon that had turned brassy. The digital perm took about 2 hours (fastest service ever) with all hands on deck and the toning took about 45 minutes.
