Quick and efficient is how I would describe doing business with Nayoung. Apparently, they are known as the most reputable company that makes skylights in the San Francisco area. Ask anyone in construction and they will recommend Nayoung. Our house was in need of two old skylight replacements. When we called Young, he set up an appointment right away the next day to come look at our old skylights and give us a quote. He was early for the appointment and climbed up the roof and took a look at what needed replacing. He also pointed out that our chimney was rusted over and needed replacing. He took measurements and showed us what he recommended for the type of glass used for skylights. We agreed on the price (very reasonable) and date when he would come back to do the installation. It took about a week for them to make custom skylights for our house. On the installation date, Young and his associate were early again. They were very fast. It only took 1 hour to complete the job. They replaced 2 skylights and the chimney. They also hauled away the old ones. Everything looks great and we are happy with the service and quality of work. It hasn't rained yet so I can't speak to if they are leaking but we will see. Hopefully not or I will need to update this review. So far so good! read more

Mr. Na is extremely responsive and motivated to provide his sheet metal services. I opted to use him for my property because he was able to promptly schedule an appointment and give me a bid for the job on the spot. The bid I received from Mr. Na was notably higher than a competitor. However, Mr. Na was able to start work in two days and the competitor had yet to get back to me with a proposed start date for the work. The sheet metal work that was completed by Mr. Na and his worker was first rate. However, after completing the project I realized that no painting was included. I had raw sheet metal. This was 100% my fault for not paying closer attention to the bid that Mr. Na provided prior to any work being started. A couple days after Mr. Na completed the sheet metal job I contacted him about painting. He quoted me $600 and said there would be three separate days. One day for primer, one day for first layer of paint, and one day for final layer of paint. In total over three days there was a perhaps a combined one hour of labor and the materials consisted of a 31 oz can of paint. I agreed to pay $600 for the painting and wrote the check to Mr. Na to honor the agreement. However, I believe that Mr. Na was aware he overcharged me for the painting services. When I brought this up to him face to face he just thanked me and turned around and walked to his truck and left. Despite the issue with the painting I would still recommend using Nayoung Sheet Metal. read more

I was so impressed with his knowledge about the skylight. He also advised how to get neighbors' support in order to get project done smoothly. After finished the remodeling that was two months after we talked, I called Mr. NaYoung, he finished the whole job within four days including custom-made the skylight in his shop. The skylight is so beautiful, 100 times better than my old one. My old wood one was leaking and ugly, made 8 years ago. The new one is made of sheet metal and glasses. I wish I knew about NSM before I had my chimney top replaced. I'm sure they would have done the job at a cheaper price. Mr. Young Na works well with Eric Jun the president of AAA General Roofing, Inc. I had my roof replaced by AAA GR and Mr. Na supplied all the copper flashing and charged me contractor's prices at the request of Mr. Jun. Mr. Na's prices are so low I feel sorry for him. How can he make a decent living? I had 3 bids, for instance, to cover 2 arched structures in the front of our house with copper flashing. Mr. Na's contractor price was 82% cheaper than each of the 3 bids! My wife thought he made a mistake and called him to verify the price. Jose and Israel are experts at installing and soldering copper flashing and did a great job. I had a scare when Jose jumped 3 to 4 feet from our rooftop down to the arched structure which protruded 12 inches from the wall without the security and support of a ladder or scaffold. He did not fall so he gave me and our neighbors quite a show by being so fearless. The sheet metal work was coordinated with the roof repair and completed in a timely manner way below budget. Friday evening while playing fetch with the dog in the backyard I noticed that the cap of my chimney (3 stories up) had rusted and blown off the stack! My wife, Suhl Young Chin, and I needed some roof flashing to prevent rain from getting between our single family home and the downhill neighbor on our steep hill. The houses are 4"-5" apart, so they should be well flashed to keep most/all rain out, prevent mold and pests, etc. The old flashing had deteriorated badly. I have my chimney cap broken. Searched on yelp and found Nanyoung sheet metal. I texted him and scheduled on Tuesday evening at 6.00 PM. Mr. Young came on time and I am stunted when he decided to climbed up to the roof (2 stories house around 12 feet high) it was already dark due to winter. He climbed up like a ninja without even let me hold the ladder from him. He measured my chimney and climbed back down. From start to finish meeting him no more than 10 minutes. He told me he will made the cap and will installed it within a week or so. On Thursday morning while at work (2 days after appointment and before a big storm come to bay area) I got a text and photos saying that my Chimney cap were installed ( like I say, he is like Ninja you will never know when and where he will installed the chimney cap). He told me to send payment via check to his address. He really doing business with just trust. I didn't pay him any down payment for the work he was about to performed and yet he delivered. I send him a check and follow up with him. It really rare to see someone doing business with just a shake hand this day, but this NINJA is one of his kind. I wanted to save rainwater from a part of our roof in March. One of the roof gutter downspouts would need to be diverted to our new rain barrel system. I talked to a roofer and plumber first. I had created a sketch of how I wanted the new downspout to go, with several jigs and a turn around the corner. No problem. Mr. Young and one of his guys came out the next day. His guy re-did the downspout AND painted it to match the house. (I supplied the paint.) It was effortless and very reasonably priced. I am very, very happy with the entire process. When it started leaking several years back, a roofer came over and caulked the joints between the glass panels, which helped for about one rainy season. Enter Mr Na Young. He came over the day after I phoned, went up onto the roof and quickly assessed the situation, took photos, and explained how he'd resolve the problem once and for all by first cleaning our large grimy central skylight, then: removing the old crumbling caulk, putting sealant on all the joints, & capping the joints with metal strips. He gave a quote which sounded completely fair. A couple of days later he came back right on time to do the job. If you need someone to do a skylight for you, call Young. He really is as good as it gets. Here's our story: My wife found Young on Yelp and asked him to come by to give us an estimate on repairing the skylight in our soon to be new home. We had a brief discussion about what needs to be done and I had planned to speak with him about the project/payment the day he came to do the work. Young came a day earlier than we had scheduled, and I wasn't at the house when he did the work. Not a big deal in terms of scheduling, but when the work was completed, we were not happy with the two panel skylight that he put in for us because it left a patch of wood frame up there that we had wanted removed. We had wanted a three panel skylight, not two, and we wanted the wood frame out. This was a communication issue between the both of us, but we paid Young his FULL fee thinking we can easily aesthetically hide the wood panel. When our contractor told us it was going to cost several hundred dollars to do the fix, we called Young back about fixing the skylight - hoping for the best. Now, Young had already received full payment from us, and could have just walked away and said his work was done or asked me for more money since he would have to trash the two-panel skylight and build a new one for us. I'm sure over 99% of the contractors out there would have done this. But he is not that kind of guy. He came by the house, drew on a piece of paper exactly what I wanted to be done to ensure we were clear and took full ownership of the mistake, even though it was a mis-communication on both sides. He did what he had to do to make us happy with our skylight. We inspected the new work and it looks great and we couldn't be happier. I needed a cover over my wood stair case which continually needed repairs for dry rot. The rain and the moisture kept the wood damp. Mr. Nayoung fabricated and installed a large galvanized metal skylight over the stair well. I waited until the rainy season to make sure the skylight did not leak. There was a small leak at the joint with the adjacent building. He promptly made the repair. The skylight has shown no signs of leaking after 6 months. His price was much better than other contractors who wanted to make a wood frame skylight. The galvanized steel looks better and is more professional. It appears he has a lot of experience in his trade and has done this type of work many times. I have called four other contractors who could not provide a good solution at a reasonable price. Other contractors who have seen the skylight were impressed with the design. I will not need to worry about dry rot repairs anymore.
