It's dog-friendly (see photo of the pup that decided to pose for a pic!) and an all-inclusive, welcoming "communal market" (just as they say on their website). Want a place in Downtown Napa to hang out, work, relax, meet up with a friend, find some bites for a wine country picnic, find affordable vino from local wineries, listen to music, warm up or wake up with a great cup of coffee? I had the pleasure of meeting the owners who have such a warm spirit. So, yesterday I ordered an americano with white mocha syrup...delicious. I came back today and ordered a vanilla latte, super good. Yesterday and today I stayed and worked from there and the atmosphere was perfect. Kids were coming in with their parents making slime, some customers came inside just to take a selfie with the robot barista, and others were like myself who enjoyed delicious coffee and stayed around to get some work done in a beautiful environment. The reason I still give them 4 stars is because of the customer service (from the humans, not the robot, though the robot is surprisingly polite! :). My husband and I stopped in during BottleRock weekend even though we'd already gotten our morning coffees at our favorite spot around the corner. We wanted to check out this new robot barista of course! Though it was fun to watch the robot (who by the way looks like he could be Baymax's little cousin from the movie Big Hero 6), their matcha latte was pretty awful. It tasted sour/tart, almost like it was made with milk that had gone sour or like it had some weird citrus-y tart juice squeezed into it. We'd already walked down the street on our way to BottleRock so there was no time to go back to see if they could remake it. Our total for the one drink came out to just over $8. We knew going in that the drink prices were on the higher side there, but we figured it was worth paying a couple extra dollars to experience the robot thing and support a newer local business. But when the actual drink isn't even drinkable, then you can't help but feel ripped off. Before writing this review I mentioned the drink issue in one of those 'How'd we do" type of surveys attached to my electronic receipt, and to my surprise, one of the owners responded right away to apologize and sort it out with me. She assured me that their matcha lattes should not taste like that. They are pricey and the coffee isn't great, but if you're up at 5am and part of the tired parents club, you drink all the nespresso in the hotel room and then you come here for more caffeine. haha. The folks at the front were nice enough - took the order and reheated my breakfast items. I ordered 4 breakfast items and had to wait longer than my toddler had patience for. Luckily there were stuffies strategically placed around the store so he could be distracted. They offer small yogurt, fruit, and other refrigerated snack items - so definitely good if you are in a pinch and don't want to stop by the restaurants on-site. Definitely great to have a small market at any resort in my opinion, but could definitely improve on the quality of the coffee and wait times!
