Our help fell through on 7am Sunday morning and we knew we needed extra hands especially for the heavy stuff. Alex, hears us out, of course already booked with repeat clients and if you saw him/them move you would completely understand why. But he tells us if we can wait for him to finish his 2 moves, him and a friend will come help us out around 2 something. Ok. So we do what we can until they arrive. 2:30pm comes and to his word, Alex and Hugo show up. So Nice- and think about it- up early, 2 moves, end of July almost 100 degrees, with crazy humidity- and they were NICE! AND Showed up ready to get going! They wasted no time! Immediately they assessed the state of things with us, asked all the right questions and got right to work. I mean this when I say it, you get your money's worth & more! They can definitely charge more but I'm grateful they charged fair. They are quick, clean, skilled & professional as they worked together in such a fluid impressive way. Something great about the company is that the only time you interact with anyone is the times when they drop off and pick up the truck. The rest was all by phone or computer. We were able to opt to have our truck to be dropped off and we had 4hours to move all our furniture inside our moving truck. After we finished they quickly came to pick up the truck. The whole time it was only my family and I, at our Public Storage parking lot, bringing our furniture inside the truck than at the end securing with the separation wood wall. (Our Upack guy explained it all how it's done). This was our first time using UPACK. In the last 8 years I've been in the US, I needed help from moving companies and trucks to move 5 times. The most recent one is Upack, we moved out of NYC again and moved to Charlotte, NC. This is definitely the best moving experience I've had. Someone else drove, all my things arrived in good condition, nothing broke and the price was muuuuch better than any other company out there. (at least to get out of NYC - the city makes it very expensive for you to leave). When we moved out of Maryland back to NYC a few month ago, we used UHAUL in Maryland to go to NY, at the time, it was at a very good price. We spend under $300 with the moving truck, tolls and the gas. But, a couple months later, to leave NY the same truck costed $2,999.00 (yes, you read it correctly 3K). Uhaul is the company we used to for all other moves in the past because it's (usually) affordable. So, yea, we are UPACK people now :) We paid a little under $1,500.00 for 9feet and with extra insurance. UPACK brought to us the truck, we packed, UPACK drove and delivered and we unpacked. Summary: + good price…read more+ fast and overall fine service + overall nice workers - poor communication - some unprofessionalism - some damages I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately landed on 3. I want to provide enough context so anyone considering Solidarity Movers can make an informed decision. Overall, this was one of the better moves I've had, but not one that warrants the 5-star reviews I see here. My husband and I moved from MA to NY due to family circumstances. The move was already stressful before it began, which is relevant because Solidarity was recommended by a friend who had a great experience with them. Given some poor experiences I've had with movers in the past, I felt confident choosing them. Unfortunately, things started off rocky. I completed a video walkthrough, received an initial quote, and then requested a revision. After that, communication stalled. Multiple follow-ups went unanswered, and I couldn't even get confirmation that my request was being worked on. After about a day of silence while other companies were responding consistently, I was ready to book elsewhere and left a review reflecting my experience. Within minutes, owner Zak called me. He was understanding, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my concerns. Communication improved immediately, I received the revised quote, and their pricing felt fair, so I booked the move. A couple of weeks before the move, I reached out to confirm everything was still on track and asked about payment. I was told, in writing by Mike, that the remaining balance would be due "upon completion of your move." To me, that clearly meant after delivery. The move was scheduled for June 19 with overnight delivery on June 20. The crew was originally expected between 12 PM and 2 PM but arrived around 4 PM due to traffic. Traffic happens, and I had no issue with the delay itself. The crew was polite, worked efficiently, and seemed to handle our belongings with care. Unfortunately, this is where my experience started to decline. While packing, I overheard two crew members make a joke about my husband and me. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it was disappointing to become the subject of a gay joke, especially from a company that publicly projects queer allyship. I chose not to make an issue of it, but another customer may have felt differently. Once loading was complete, the foreman informed me that the remaining balance was due immediately. This directly contradicted the written communication I had received. When I raised the issue, Mike acknowledged there had been a miscommunication but insisted I still had to pay on the spot. What made the interaction frustrating was how dismissive he came across. He stated this was standard procedure and said he would investigate the miscommunication, but unless there is another Mike, the miscommunication originated with him. Rather than create additional stress for myself, I paid the balance and moved on. To be clear, I still tipped the crew generously because they worked hard. By the end of the move, they had received $1,200 total in gratuity, or $400 per mover. The next day, delivery was delayed again due to traffic, but the unloading process itself was quick and organized. The crew followed instructions, reassembled our storage bed, and got everything into the house efficiently. After unloading, I was asked to sign paperwork stating everything had been delivered without damage. This struck me as odd because we hadn't unpacked a single box yet, so there was no realistic way to verify that. Like many people at the end of a move, I signed because I was exhausted and just wanted the process finished. While unpacking later, I discovered our $1,500 credenza had been damaged. Two interior shelves were broken, one completely split in half. Several glass items were also broken in transit. Nothing irreplaceable, but damage nonetheless. Could I file a claim? Sure. But after an already stressful interstate move, I don't have the time or energy to go through another lengthy process. Instead, I'm leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. Despite everything, I would still consider recommending Solidarity Movers, especially for a local move. The crew worked hard, and this was far from the worst moving experience I've had. However, the communication issues, payment confusion, dismissive handling of that confusion, inappropriate comment, and damage to our belongings prevent me from rating the experience higher. After talking to them, I knew I wanted to go with them. Their customer service, attention to details, and organization are 5-star levels. One thing that really stood out to me was that instead of asking me how many boxes I need, they asked me to send them pics of my place and stuff, and they calculated the number of small, medium and large boxes I need. It's so easy to underestimate and get a different price at the end. Also, I know I wanted packers because its speeds up the entire process of moving and settling in. I'm so glad I did with Roadway. It usually takes me over half a week to pack and be stressed for over a week, but Diego and his 3 teammates packed up our studio in 2-3 hours. They're so professional. They moved so quickly with care and accuracy. Most importantly, all my kitchen appliances were wrapped with care and delivered and arrived to my new apartment in the same condition. It took us about 2 hrs to settle in, and they once again unpacked most of the furnitures and reassembled them, making me feel settled in and relaxed. I cannot thank their team enough. They're all so polite, friendly and efficient. Within 1 day, I already feel 95% settled in. It's the easiest, stress-free moving experience I had in a while!

Before they even arrived, I got a tracking link to follow their location just like Uber, which immediately made me feel at ease. Crisanto and his crew showed up right on time and were incredible. They worked quickly but carefully, wrapping all of my furniture and somehow managing three giant mirrors without a single issue. Not one complaint and not one moment of stress. What really stood out was how above and beyond they went. They helped me figure out which part of my couch would actually fit in my space, laid out my rugs, and organized everything so I could still move around my studio comfortably. Also shoutout to one of the crew members who was on his first day. You truly could not tell. The whole team was professional, efficient, and just genuinely great to work with. They stole $475 from my 14 year disabled daughter's piggy bank and $100 from my wallet. My daughter was so upset she was crying for a week and ended up in the hospital.
