I've waited a few months to post this review - I'll explain why…read more Our 20 year old daughter wanted to buy her own car, paid for by her, all cash. She had her eye on used Subaru models. We spotted a 2004 Subaru Forester at West Raleigh Auto, called and drove down the same afternoon. Really liked the car, the lot owner, Patrick, was extremely friendly and professional. We planned to come back the next day to get dad's opinion and most likely buy the car. Came back following morning, test drove a second time, made an offer on car (considering how much daughter had saved for a car), Patrick happily accepted and she bought the car. We noticed a few issues with car - rear view mirror was very discolored (with age), passenger window motor broken, car needed new wiper blades and car was not clean (it had literally only been on lot 1 day when we bought it). Patrick gave us an IOU for complete detail, replace all wiper blades, new window motor and new rear view mirror. No questions asked. We took the car home and I drove it back down to Patrick following Wednesday for the detail and repairs to be made - it took the mobile detail guy a few hours to clean, Patrick lent me a car from his lot and I just drove down to Crabtree Mall and killed the time. Very generous to lend me a car! ONLY issue we have is the following week, our daughter was running a few quick errands, locally here in WF. After her third stop in about 1/2 hour, she came out of Dollar Tree and the car would NOT start. She freaked out, called us panicking and said she turned key over and it wouldn't start. Tried four tries until it started for her. OMG. Car was only two weeks old to us and wouldn't start! What?! I texted Patrick immediately, he said bring it in on Monday, I'll have my mechanic look at it. Monday, I drove car down to Patrick, he loaned me a car again and his mechanic tried over and over to replicate stalling. He could not get it to stall... Long story short - we've owned car since first week of October. The car has stalled on me once (again after running a few quick in and out errands) and stalled on daughter on December 16. Very frustrating. Car will catch after a few tries but it undermines your confidence in the car. Oh, and there seems to be an issue with the passenger window again - we had window down, car stalled, window wouldn't go back up. After a few tries, we got car started again and window back up but daughter refuses to let anyone put passenger window down now. Saddens us that she saved up hard-earned money and there are still issues with the car but what can you do? Update 1/8/18: rear view mirror that Patrick installed completely broken and fogged over. Car stalled again twice today before finally starting. Final thoughts: Would I buy from Patrick again? Maybe. Would I get the car checked out independently before I bought it? Definitely. Is he a stand-up guy? Yes, he did try to replicate issue and just couldn't get it to happen. He stood by his word on all fixes and the complete detail (guy did a bang up job cleaning her car). Hope this review helps future used car buyers!

I discovered the cd player didn't work and he had a new, upgraded radio installed complete with bluetooth. He also arranged for a locksmith to come and make 2 new keys for me at cost (which would have cost more than $300-400 at the dealership). So... why am I writing a review a year and a half after the purchase of this vehicle? Well...you know teenagers... :( The good news is that my daughter is fine and no other vehicle or property was involved.... but she hydroplaned, crossed the yellow line and went off the road and into a grassy gully. Our better angels were watching over her that day and thank God nobody else was in the car and nobody was seriously injured. The car, on the other hand, was not worth repairing...... so ..... I am in the market for another used car ... and I am going to be heading back to West Raleigh Auto Sales to see what they have in stock!! I guess that is the whole point of providing a good customer experience, right? Make them want to come back for more and tell their friends.

I have to agree with the ownership and sales being courteous, respectful and professional…read more I went looking for a specific vehicle or two, and truth be told the pictures on the internet, while of those cars, really did not indicate the damage that was on those cars. The pics looked good. The cars, in person, not so much. Of the three cars I looked at, the first smelled so badly of cigarette smoke my bride & I could not stay in it for much more than about 20 seconds before we decided we couldn't take it anymore. In addition, the scrapes in the paint, while seemingly minor, and chewed up rims indicated a car that had been abused by the previous owner. The second vehicle was stored elsewhere and a runner had to go and get it - that took awhile. When we got in to test drive it, there was trash in it on the passenger side (empty soda bottles). The ragtop would not retract and the top of the dash was in pretty sad shape. Driving it, more than appearance, I now knew why it was not moving, at least not moving to my own driveway - the clutch needed to be tightened up - it was clunking every time I pushed the clutch in on the car. The third car was just to see what it was like. I wasn't really that interested in it. The rear bumper looked like it had been detached from the body at some point where the trim came around to the wheel well, and wasn't reattached very well, and the paint job looked like a cheap maaco quick job. All of the cars we looked at could have used a good detailing before we ever looked at them, just to make them more presentable and/or desireable. None of them were clean, and the smoke smell from the first car stayed with me so long I was assuming each of the cars was smelling like smoke until my bride corrected me. No pressure to buy here, the sales staff is not on commission. Either you like what you see or you don't and make your decisions from there. Since I didn't like wahat I saw, I didn't buy, doesn't mean I won't be back to look and potentially to buy. Again, staff is indeed courteous and personable.

I initially did not realize it was a dealership, as they advertised on CL as a private owner, to save paying Craigslist. I decided, despite buying cars from regular citizens, and never having an issue, to try a dealership. Oh boy. I test drove the vehicle for half an hour, until the gas light went on. ( I should have thought about why it was kept on E) Upon return I asked mechanic/owner, Mohammed whether there was any issues with the automobile to be noted. Mohammed replied, stating that he had the Carfax for the vehicle, and that there was not one issue with the car. I bought the vehicle. I immediately went to the closest gasoline station, which was a block away from the dealership. Within minutes I had returned to the dealership, because upon filling up my gas tank, check engine light came on. Almost immediately, the owners demeanor changed. He quickly ran the machine on the vehicle, reset at the light, and told me it was not a big deal. I asked him for the trouble code, he give me the incorrect code for my vehicle. I drove the vehicle home, and I felt light headed, and had a headache. I noticed this over a period of 3 to 4 days. The smell of gasoline was extremely strong in the vehicle. I call the owner back three times, and told him again, and again, that I believed there was some sort of leak inside the cab of the vehicle. He argued with me, stating that fuel lines do not run inside of the vehicle. Eventually, I took it to a mechanic the next day. The mechanic located the leak inside the vehicle, underneath the backseat. He also showed me with a few lines ran along the inside of the cabin towards the gas tank top underneath the seat. The mechanic stated if either one that if i had lit a match inside the vehicle, my life would've ended. Moreover, the mechanic also found the catalytic converters of which there are three for this model vehicle, are all badly damaged, and will need replacement. The mechanics stated that there was no way any inspection would've missed the smell of fuel from this vehicle, and that the previous owners of this vehicle had to of known at least this life-threatening deficiency. I immediately notified super auto sales, and the response I received was extremely rude and unfavorable. The owner refused to pay for any repairs, and that I should've should look at the vehicle will thoroughly. When I informed him that I would be notifying the Better Business Bureau, and litigation if necessary, Mohamed and the other owner of the business, ( who refused to give me his name) told me that they sell cars every day, and they could care less. As of this writing, I am currently working with the BBB to find a solution. My next step is litigation. I attempted to contact all websites that have a reivew of this dealer, as their ratings on their site have this as a reputable automobile seller, but I was informed because I did not get a lead from this site, I could not post my review. I highly recommend you learn from my mistakes, and steer clear of these guys. They only care about the dollar, and not the customer. As far as looking at a car thoroughly, as an automotive seller, you should at a minimum have a product that doesn't require further fixing, and is at least functionally safe. Car buyers, Spend your money elsewhere! do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers

We purchased a vehicle 1.5 years ago from North Hills Motors and although there were some issues nothing out of the norm (except for a constant smell in the vehicle we could not place). We decided to upgrade to an suv and to our surprise during the trade i inspection we're told/shown the vehicle had been in an accident and was put back together poorly. In fact there was a leak in the trunk and the water was pooling under the mats (where spare tire is located) and growing mold (hence the smell), the side of the vehicle was not painted properly and the headlight was placed in the hole and held there by a piece of metal that has since rusted out. We believed NHM when they said they did a bumper to bumper check, showed us a clean car fax and signed off on the document that states no structural damage. Our mistake was not taking it to a mechanic for a pre purchase inspection.
