Bryan is the only mechanic I trust to be straight up and not tell me that I need things that I actually don't need on my car.

After the tune up did not fix the issue, I was told my throttle body and MAP sensor needed to be replaced ($900). When they realized that didn't fix the issue, the told me I needed a new engine or to replace the cylinder head (quoted at $6,000+). At this point I told them to not do any further work and I went to retrieve my vehicle. At the time I went to get my car, I asked for them to show me my throttle body that was damaged, initially they were unable to show me the damage because they did not have it in their possession anymore and that NAPA auto parts store had it because it had a core charge on it. Well I went over to NAPA to ask if their new throttle body had a core charge and they told me there was no core charge on new throttle bodies only on refurbished ones. When I went back over to Al's Garage to ask to have the throttle body replacement chargers removed, they had no issue taking it off my bill but also "my" old throttle body magically reappeared and they put the old one back on my car. Well, I took my vehicle to get another diagnosed by 3 different mechanics, one being the actual Jeep dealership. All 3 mechanics came up with the same diagnosis and were unsure why they would do a tune up for my issue I was having. Other mechanics I spoke with as well, said in the situation if they provided me with a misdiagnosis and the problem wasn't fixed from their diagnosis they wouldn't keep charging me more to "test and check". I reached out to Al's Garage over the phone and spoke to a representative who had a very recognizable voice due to his accent. I asked if a manager was in while on the phone, and he said he did not know. I then asked if he knew who the owner was and again did not know. I then decided to return in person to speak with someone to find a resolution, the same guy who answered the phone, who referred to himself as Jerry, was there again. I explained the situation again, and he refused to work with me to find a resolution. I then asked for a business card and he refused to provide one and was initially reluctant to provide the name of the owner of the shop. It's unfortunate this situation is needing to come to this, but shops like this need to be put out of business to stop giving a bad rep for all the great mechanics and shops who are willing to do the right thing and not take advantage of costumers.

Everyone I encountered were wonderful! The gentleman that checked me in got me right back to one of the mechanics. They took care of everything in less than 30 minutes without an appointment. The customer service was top notch and I would give 6 stars if I could. Highly recommend !

I hate to have to leave a bad review as the employees I interacted with were both very friendly. My…read moreinteraction with them leads me to believe that the deceptive business practices I (and apparently others) encountered come from higher up. I can only assume that a business that takes advantage of it's customers takes advantage of it's employees in whatever ways it can also. My specific case: I had a screw in my tire. It is a relatively new tire with plenty of tread left and the screw had planted itself between the tread, not in the sidewall. When I took it in just before closing the person working the counter said they could plug it for me no problem if I left it overnight, and wouldn't even charge me for it. "Too kind! Thank you" I said, thinking that is how you generate loyal customers. The next day I had a message saying that they couldn't repair the tire. I called them up and they said something about the angle of the puncture, it sounded half baked. The person on the phone didn't sound completely convinced themselves and like they had a script for the "Snap Financing" they should try to steer me towards to pay for two new tires (so they'd wear evenly). After politely declining to buy new tires from them they were willing to re-inflate my damaged one so I could drive away. when I took it to another local shop today they were able to plug it no problem. I even asked if there was anything unusual or any reason at all they might have suggested I get new tires. The guy who did fix it basically said "If I wanted you to spend $500 you didn't need to today I could have tried lying to you too." in actuality he just said "Nope, it was a simple plug." Two stars for friendly employees who hopefully find something better when this place hopefully goes under, like it deserves to in my estimation.

While they provided a printout of the manufacturer's oil pressure specifications and OBD results, they confirmed they do not have the mechanical gauging equipment required to perform the actual pressure test and tell me the exact PSI. I am now seeking a formal diagnostic elsewhere to verify engine safety. =============== Original Review ================== Total lack of professional accountability. Although I explicitly requested full synthetic oil, the shop used a synthetic blend instead. Within 24 hours, my red oil pressure light began flickering. When I returned, the owner (the guy in the front desk) refused a standard mechanical pressure test to rule out engine damage and became hostile when I asked for a written record. The owner told me, "You can stand there and be mad if you want, I won't do anything unless you are willing to pay for a full diagnosis" and--most dangerously--claimed, "you can continue drive if you have that oil light on." That is catastrophic advice that would lead to total engine failure. They are happy to take your money but refuse to stand behind their work or verify basic safety. Proceed with extreme caution.

He looked up my record, and said, angrily, "I remember you. You bring me in all these vehicles that shouldn't even be on the road".... "I'm just being honest with you, you shouldn't be driving those vehicles. They aren't roadworthy. Is this another one of these vehicles that shouldn't be on the road?" Then he wanted to schedule me for an appointment. I just ended the conversation.
