I had a really disappointing experience at this movie theater. Because of a mistake on the theater's end, my group and I were asked to leave even though we had done nothing wrong. We tried to explain the situation and show that there had been a misunderstanding, but instead of looking into it, the staff immediately kicked us out. It was embarrassing and frustrating to be treated that way. What made the experience even worse was how poorly the situation was handled. A simple conversation or double-checking the mistake could have solved everything, but instead we were inconvenienced and lost the chance to enjoy the movie we paid to see. Customer service should be about fixing problems, not making them worse. I definitely won't be returning, and I can't recommend this theater based on how this situation was handled. read more

I was put in theater 4 and as i watching the movie i noticed the projector screen had little marks on it and it was ruining the quality of the image there was dots all over the screen really bummed me out and after i noticed them i couldn't un see them read more

I found the main entrance lobby to be exquisite. after gathering my concessions, which i found to be reasonably priced given today's economy, i went to relive myself in the restroom. Customer service is disappointing. Ordered a small bag of popcorn. While putting butter on my popcorn, I somehow spilled it on the outside of the bag, coating it. Knowing that this was going to be a gigantic mess if I took it into the theater with me, I asked if I could get a new/another bag. I was told that they weren't allowed to because it would "mess up their count." I asked how I was supposed to sit thru the movie without getting any of the greasy butter on my clothes, a shrug of the shoulders was given. So I asked the popcorn attendant if I could get another bag, he said they don't have any at his counter, they keep them at the ticket counter...where they weren't willing to help me. I'm sure you're asking why I didn't ask to speak with the Manager. It's because several years ago I was given a "folded" popcorn container that did not have a sealed bottom. After putting butter on my popcorn, I realized that it was coming out the bottom. I asked the ticket counter for a new container and was told they couldn't give me one because it would "mess up their count." I had escalated it to their manager who stood by their policy of not giving any add'l containers out since it would "mess up their count." That same manager was on last night. I knew this would be a fruitless conversation. Especially since after that interaction, I had contacted corporate who sadly stood behind their manager. I even pointed out that the dripping butter could be a liability issue if someone had slipped and fell on the butter...still, no assistance/apology or better explanation. So very very sad. read more

Terrible experience! The seats were super uncomfortable and there was no room for even smaller people, like seriously no room at all. We were on the left side in theater 4, so maybe other theater rooms are different. Staff wasn't anything spectacular either, all acted like they hated being there. Not the theaters fault (somewhat) but there were kids in a rated R movie who had their flashlights on, talking the whole time, and running back n forth in and out of the theater room the whole time- the staff could've said something (as their job description entails them to do so). Better off going to classic cinemas 7 in Sandwich (much cheaper as well). read more

Overall, the place is a winner. The staff is very friendly, and accommodating. They have a pretty unique way to purchase tickets and concessions, you do it all at once at the same register. I do not recommend buying tickets in advance on Fandango as there is a service charge for really no reason. The auditorium are clean and the seats are comfortable with the ability to rock back-and-forth a little bit. The theater is equipped with those fancy multi drink machine see you can really help yourself to whatever you want. It also has the popcorn at a counter but you add your own butter and seasonings and they have a very large selection. Refills are available at no extra charge. read more

Been here a few times, and haven't reviewed yet, but let me tell you, it's a great theater. It's clean (also, new, so that may be why) and doesn't have that old smell quite yet - if they stay on their game and continue to hire employees that actually work, it should stay in great condition. I've seen movies in both the regular & the Xtreme theater. The regular houses are great too, but the Xtreme is where it's at for big, theatrical, action, awesome boom-pow-loud-NOISES movies. It does not disappoint. I feel that the pricing at this theater is much better than other area film houses, too. They don't try to over-gouge you. Same for concession stand. And, on Tuesdays, they have specials for both tickets AND concessions! Free refills on popcorn/pop, any size, as well. Join the rewards club, and get a free ticket after purchasing ten. read more

This place is CRAZY! I mean this in a good way. My new favorite Theater! Now, I'm sure you're thinking, it's a Movie Theater, what could be so special?? I'LL TELL YOU! They have created a MEGA Friendly environment! At first glance I was a little confused, but here is the deal. No ticket stands... Get your ticket and any refreshments at the Concession stand. They stream line this by giving you an empty bucket/cup that is for their semi-self serve station. They have the new "any soda I can imagine" machine that you fill up at. Popcorn is very fresh and free re-fills on both! Pretty Awesome deal and the prices did not make me feel like I was raked over hot coals! I'm not gonna say they are not expensive, but they most certainly have the best prices! Did I mention they are Friendly?!?! I have become so accustom to horrible service at Movie joints that I was shocked at how Genuinely Friendly they were!!! Everybody!!! The theater itself was more intimate than I am used to... I'm not sure if this is indicative of all of their theaters, but ours was small with a huge screen. I liked it, was not a fan of the main entrance being directly next to screen, but at the end of the day, I cannot say I noticed any comings and goings. I do have one gripe; the bass from another movie was a bit overwhelming to the less loud parts of our film. Only for a bit tho! I am all about this place in the long run. I would have to say that the Staff and the Cost make it the best deal from here to Naperville. Went to see an afternoon movie in on 2-10-19 at NCG Yorkville, in theater 2. Staff was great as usual, but when we went to sit down is another thing. Walked in and the smell was awful! Thought some kind of sewer pipe was venting into the room. Walking up the stairs and reached over to grab the banister and it was so sticky i heard a sound when i pulled my hand away. In short, the staff is very helpful and friendly and the picture / sound quality of the film is great. But NCG, please work on cleaning the place up. read more

This is a brand new 10 cinema theater in Yorkville where the old theater used to be (remember that?!). I would give this place 5 stars, if not for the lighting. The popcorn was very good, the seats are large, comfy and they rock. The movie was good. However, they kept the lights ON during the first 15 minutes of the film. I think someone finally went out and asked them to turn them down. Then after the credits, the lights were still OFF. Get your lighting fixed and this place would be 5 stars. Make sure you don't arrive 10 minutes late because they had everything closed. The movie started at 7:50 and we couldn't even get in at 7:59. Terrible when young kids work, trying to buy tickets and give money to help these theaters stay open, and they are more worried about closing. i would recommend any Theater but this one!! Went to the movies on a Saturday afternoon. Bought 4 tickets, popcorn and soda that was over 50 dollars for our family of four. I don't like soda so I asked for a cup of water. They told me it would be four dollars. What???? I asked isn't water free? The teenager selling tickets informed me water is free but the cup is $4.00. Or I can buy a water bottle for $3.00. I didn't want to be the person arguing with a teenage girl so I didn't push it any further. But I will not be back. This is the email I got back from the regional manager after asking for a refund on 6 tickets to watch a movie I or my family didn't get to watch because they called the police over a simple mistake or misunderstanding. Forget rhat i am human, a mother, a hard working citizen, nurse, educator etc...They definitely labeled me as a criminal since I'm hispanic. This review is based off the every person needs a ticket policy. My wife and myself took our 2 kids to see Dory. Obviously I expected to pay for my 3 year old I assumed under 2 was free (lap kid). At this theatre that is not the case. The 2 closest theaters offer this - Cinemark under 2 free - Kendall 10 Under 1 free So unfortunately I will be unable to do family outings here anymore at least until my youngest is over 2. read more

NCG Cinemas is a welcome addition to town! First run movies at typical prices. The lobby is somewhat disappointing as it's small and doesn't offer much of a gathering area for people waiting for others, their movie or just hanging out talking with friends after a movie. Friendly staff and comfortable stadium seating (armrests go up for snuggling!) make for an enjoyable movie going experience. read more

I love that this theater went up in Yorkville. The town desperately needed it. I've seen a handful of movies here, and really enjoy the cleanliness and layout of the property. The self-serve popcorn and beverage station is always tidy and stocked! Average prices are in line with other movie theaters. Tuesdays offer a great value with $5.00 movies, and $2.00 small popcorns, drinks, and candies. ALSO, FREE REFILLS! :) BUT, here is my issue: the last 2 times I went, the showings have been less than reliable. I went a couple of weeks ago to see the Gift, and 30 minutes into the movie the power went out resulting in rain checks to all customers. Then, today, I went to see Black Mass only to find that they were having issues with the projector and weren't showing it. They didn't even have other options being showed at a similar time. We were so disappointed that NCG wasted our time AGAIN. Unfortunately, now I feel like I have to call ahead and make sure everything is going smoothly before I make the trip to see a movie at this location...and that slightly sucks. NCG Cinemas - Cinema Near Me - Yorkville, Illinois

The gold standard for theaters. It's a little unusual in that you buy both your concessions and tickets at the same counter, but they give you empty drink cups and empty popcorn containers. You then go through with your ticket stub and go back to the drink and popcorn area. The drinks are self-service with the new Coke Freestyle dispensers, the ones with the touch screens that let you mix just about any custom flavor you can think up. You then hand your popcorn tubs to staff at the popcorn machines. They offer to only fill the tubs halfway so you can go to the flavoring station for a good mix. The flavoring station has much more than butter, there are all kinds of flavoring containers out there - we made our own cheddar corn! The seats are big, comfortable, with tons of leg room. At 6'2" I often find myself cramped in theaters, but not here. read more

So I've been here a couple times already and this is a really nice theatre. The screens and seats are really nice. On Tuesdays its $2 for concessions and $5 for movies all day which is a great deal. Also what's cool is that if you want popcorn where you pay they give you the bag or bucket and you go to a different counter for it. I think that's a good idea to save time. Seats are huge and I salute you for that. Popcorn is fresh and free refills. Drinks are the same, free refills. This theater is the most economical in the area. I never buy popcorn in the city ($8.00), but a small bag on Tuesday is only $2.00 so I bought everyone a bag. and a drink. The movie was clear and the sound perfectly balanced. This is where I go to see movies now. The facility has great potential. I like the fact that the popcorn and pop refills are done away from the ticket counter. The "Extreme" is a good theater room. I was surprised to find one time I was in the "not so extreme" theater room. Not many seats and a small screen. It kind of felt like I was in someone's basement man-cave. If you are going to have a kids party there, I would get there early and make sure the treats are made up and given to the kids on the spot. When I was there last time, people were snacking on the popcorn from the party meals while they waited in line for a refill. There was no reserved sign on it and it was just sitting there on the side, not watched by the attendant. I feel a few small policy changes wouldn't hurt here. read more

Have been here several times now and every time it has been a good experience. The theater is very large and they have many movie options. I prefer to come here over Kendall 10 and TinselTown which are both closer to me in location. The theater is always very clean. The bathrooms are well maintained and the staff is very friendly. They are young, but I'm not sure what the other yelpers below me would expect from a movie theater. It isn't exactly a "career" job. The seats are comfortable and I really enjoy watching movies here. Anna the theater manager severely needs training in customer satisfaction. A fully function theater show not have run out of cups for your coffee machine and if a customer pays to see two movies it may be a good idea to make an exception and let them bring the rest of their coffee into the theater. Up until this point I was a satisfied customer. Not anymore. I would rather drive to another theater than deal with such an un-accommodating twit. To the owners of NGC I recommend screening your applicants better in the future. read more

Saw Hunger Games on opening day. The theater just opened and is GREAT. Very Clean, cheap tix and cheap snacks. Free refills on popcorn and soda. The Xtreme Theater (IMAX) was amazing!!! Good to have a theater back in Yorkville. Will definitely be going back in the near future. read more

The hub's and I wanted to catch a movie. We had summer time to kill and we're crazing I've cream so got a milk shake at the Baskin Robbins across the street. Had ti wait 20 minutes to get into the show so we hung out. Bought tickets waited, still with milkshake in hand. The staff was all young, the flow of the place is somewhat disorganized. As we were told we could go in this lady in a purple shirt yells at me saying I cannot take my milkshake into the theater. Now I'm reasonable I get it, but there was no need to yell at me if front of at least 40 people in the lobby. Just terrible customer relations with this particular supervisor. A complaint will be filed with higher management. read more
