What a horrible experience! Based on the reviews below I was swayed into giving this guy a shot with my wedding dress. after 4 fittings and 2 months I ran out of time and had to walk down the aisle with a dress I was NOT pleased with in the least. That was only after my mother and I had to go through and hand stitch many of the seams left completely unfinished inside and out. He sewed the zipper in crooked, only took in the dress on one side which messed up the entire pattern of the dress, I lost the entire fit and flare shape and the dress became very A-Line and not so flattering for me. This was just an absolute nightmare I plan to take the photos in and get a refund but that doesnt even come close to making up for what he did to the most special garment a girl can wear. DO NOT take a wedding dress to Altug. read more

Beautiful work! I complained about the price and he gave me the adjustment for free!! I was stunned. My bridesmaid dress turned out perfectly and he was so considerate about my satisfaction that he said he would he feel terrible if I left paying more than I was comfortable with. Yes, he's GOOD. I brought in two pairs of pants that were so loose and crappy-looking on my butt. I wanted them to actually fit. The results were amazing. He tightened the waist and the buttocks part. I was so happy with the results, I wish I had done it sooner. I will be back for more. And yes, he's very friendly (like, genuinely friendly and so nice to talk to). The only downside is the location. read more

Yes, the owner is extremely nice. BUT...I just don't think he's the best out there. I had a couple pairs of jeans/corduroys hemmed, and one leg was not quite sewn all the way around (and so the hem is slowly unraveling) and there were little snippets of thread all over both pairs of pants-i would think he could at least have brushed these off? I had another pair of pants where he replaced the lining, and to be honest, it just looks kind of shoddy, and the fabric he used for the lining was sort of suede-like, meaning it was not smooth against my skin or against socks, kind of bunchy. an odd choice. and there was some visible stitching lines that just looked amateur. And, there's a sign that says you have to pre-pay, and when I asked, he said I could just pay when I picked up my items. So when I came to pick up my items, and tried to pay, he told me I had already paid and refused to accept money. He seemed really upset and I didn't want to insult him, but I honestly did not pay, and felt bad about it. The whole experience was really weird. read more

I'm disappointed and very unhappy. I was charged $70 for work that was incomplete and very messy. He had over 4 weeks to complete what I asked for and when I came in to pick it up, it was incredibly sloppy. When I addressed the issues I saw, he agreed to fix them and was friendly. Then when I came back to pick it up a week later, I found that HE DIDN'T FIX IT! He didn't change a thing. I doubt it ever came out of the garment bag. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TAILOR. read more

I was introduced to Altug by the King Brother Clothiers as he was the tailor they chose to do the alterations on my wedding suit they made for me. They had hired him to sew two of my fathers ties onto the suit. First reaction was that he was helpful and willing to make the few minor adjustments to the jacket and pants. Once I went back to pick up the suit I noticed major issues with his work. The areas where he had stitched the ties on was sloppy and the buttons had been attached in a hap-hazard fashion. The hem's he had taken in were barely sewn back on - almost like it was a last minute rush. I showed him my concerns and he was extremely rude to me. Saying that my expectations were to high and that the work was of high quality. I was able to get him to agree to make the fixes but when I picked the jacket up for the final time there were still stitching issues. In fact, one area where he had made an alteration actually came loose on my wedding day, thankfully my wife was able to quickly stitch it up before the ceremony. I would definitely NOT recommend using Altug. read more

I took two of my daughter's dresses to get fitted. When they were ready, she picked them up and tried them both on. They both fit well but on one she noticed he missed an entire section on the inside. He sewed it for her on the spot. When we came home she inspected them more closely and noticed that on the other one, the sewing on the inside was sloppy and loose. Part of the ruffles on the bust were also loose and needed a thread to hold them in place. I took the dress back the next day to fix the sewing and the loose ruffles. He began yelling and cursing at me simply because I was an Arab Muslim. He began ranting about "Arab Women" and how no Arab woman should ever come and do business with him again. His racism and ignorant remarks were disgusting and frankly, shocked me. He kept repeating himself about Arab women over and over again. I urge everyone to take heed of this tailor and take your business elsewhere. I simply wanted my daughters dress to be tailored as a job well done and as people should get what they pay for. read more

I selected this tailor to bring my bridesmaid dress to because of the good reviews and I wanted to use a local small business owner. He had my dress for three weeks and when I came to pick it up, three days after he said it would be ready it had not been touched. He said it would be ready the next day than I noticed dirty marks along the top of the red dress. When I mentioned this to him he got very angry and aggressive with me. He ask me if it was a used dress and of course it is brand new. When I left my dress there it was covered with plastic and when I came to pick it up the plastic was gone. He said he was very angry with me and I should just take my dress and go! I had my six year old son with and was getting nervous regarding the amount of aggression he was showing over this so I thought it was safer to leave. He gave me a refund but now I have dress with stains and no alterations and a wedding in a couple of weeks. read more

Want to start out by saying that Altug is the MAN! I've been looking around for a tailor for some time now and know where I am going from now on. I went in there on a very slow day so we had plenty of time to talk while he measured away at tailoring 3 suit jackets, 3 pairs of pants and a shirt for me. Ran me about $230 which was very cheap for the amount of work I had done. ONLY NEGATIVE is that he does, like many comments say, take a while. He said all 3 would be done in 3 week (I was in no rush) but he finished 2 in that time and I had to come back the next day for my last suit which needed a lot of work. Like I said above, I was not in a rush but he usually does run behind but that will NEVER stop me from using him. Just shows that if you really need something done he will get it done but might coast other people that are not in as big of a rush. ALWAYS CALL AHEAD to see if your stuff is done and it will save you a lot of time. read more
