When I took a bath, the reason became obvious: the tub drained into the living room. The large volume of water was too much for the leaking pipes. ARRRRRGGGGHHH. So I replaced the tub with a bigger, deeper tub, and hired Bad Plumber to install it. He claimed that he repaired the leaking pipe. That was a lie. I took a bath, and it leaked again. Bad Plumber said that he would fix it. He did not return. So I called Roto-Rooter, because they guarantee their work. And they're a well-known company. Mike showed up on time. Gave me an estimate. It wasn't too bad. THEN he claimed that he needed a helper to thread a pipe through the ceiling, and no I couldn't do it. The other guy was going to cost an additional $450. UGH. For HOLDING A PIPE. He also insisted on replacing the bath fixtures. More money. Smh. They were brand new. So Mike did fix the leak. Months later, it's still holding up. But...he didn't want to replace the Sheetrock he cut out of the living room ceiling. He was going to just leave me WITH A LARGE HOLE IN MY LIVING ROOM CEILING. I told him that was unacceptable. He told me he's not a "drywall guy." I insisted he replace it, and he did, begrudgingly. He removed three panels from the bathroom wall, and didn't replace them, because "he's not a carpenter." They're still loose, because I can't quite get them back in. He left the old pipes and debris LYING ON MY DECK AND THE GRASS. I guess he's "not a garbage man" either. I should not have to clean up after a "professional," but I did. So....plumbing work: Excellent. No complaints. Mess left behind, extra helper nonsense, and sulking over the ceiling: Poor.

So, long story short, I posted on Nextdoor seeking help, and Cesar responded. He came over the next day, and got right to work. He brought all his own tools, tables for organizing parts, and his own ladder and wheelbarrow! I was very impressed. Cesar showed up every morning, worked hard all day, and then his lovely wife came over at night to help him clean up the site and pack up his truck. They left the job site absolutely spotless. He is a dedicated professional who works carefully and takes pride in his work. The greenhouse turned out to be much more complicated than either of us expected. What was supposed to be a one-day job took three days. He did request an adjustment to the previously-agreed upon price, and that was fair. He put in a lot of work, staying until 7 pm at night. Cesar did an AMAZING job with the assembly. There were eight boxes of cedar wood, polycarbonate panels, a power port, a hose hookup, windows that open, a vent fan...and all the parts were in different boxes. Cesar opened all the boxes and organized all the pieces before getting started. I will absolutely hire Versatil/Cesar for any and all carpentry. When they were scheduled to install the machines they came several hours late and didn't even communicate to me that plans had changed, so I lost a whole day waiting for them. More importantly the washing machine only lasted 8 months before it stopped working, I had to pay them to repair it and the owner promised to cover the repair--meaning that if anything happened within 90 days, he would repair it for free. The machine broke down again not even two months later and he ignored me for a week when I tried to contact him and then eventually told me to get a local repair person. Long story short, I should've never tried it, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt as the owner sounded like a nice guy. I will probably end up buying new machines now as both machines are out and its not worthwhile to spend a lot of money to repair them.
