The millwork / finishing / painting done by his team were meticulous, and we ended up 2 beautiful new apartments - a triplex with 2 bedrooms 2 baths, and a duplex with 2 bedrooms / 2 baths. Shafayet was always responsive to our inquiries / requests and provided solutions to the many problems that were encountered in a project of this size. He also coordinated well with the architect and third party vendors that were involved in this project too. They came the very next day for the consultation and promised they could start the day after and it would be a one day job. However, they ended up showing up late afternoon in the winter so they had to come back the next day to finish up. Even though they promised to show up in the morning again, they did not show up till late afternoon. This 1 day job ended up being 3 days. We had signed a contract stating there is a 10 year warranty on the roof and the manager/supervisor promised if there was any leaks within 10 years he would come back and fix it. I have a voice recording of him saying this and a copy of our written contract of course. Less than 1.5 years later, in 2023, my roof is leaking again. I have been reaching out, calling/texting etc but this company will make up every excuse in the book not to show up. After months of promising to come "the next day for sure 100%", they will not show. Finally, they showed up 1 time just to inspect and they told me they didn't have the materials and they would come back tomorrow to fix it. Of course, they never came back. They texted me saying I would need to buy the materials, because the guarantee in the contract only covers labor costs and not materials. He offered to help me buy the materials for $80 or I can buy it myself. They made it very difficult for me to buy the materials by sending very blurry pictures and misspelling the name of the product in hopes that I would give them money instead. In the end, I was able to buy the materials, but they never showed up to fix it. In the end, they blocked my number when they realized they were not getting any more money from me. I used a new number to call them and they immediately picked up. After realizing it was not new business, they told me I had to pay for labor to fix my roof despite being well within the 10 year warranty. They are now making up another excuse that the leak is not from what they worked on (which is a complete lie as they redid my entire roof). In the end, they never showed up (after promising they would, of course) and blocked my second phone number. I have evidence of everything I stated above about this company (contract/license/text messages/phone logs) and I am happy to share with anyone considering using this company. TLDR: Your roof will leak again shortly after the job and they will not come back unless you pay them more to fix their own work.

Unfortunately, after that things have gone significantly downhill. When the painters left they pushed all of my living room furniture to the middle of the room and said when the crew came back the following week to paint the baseboards and install the doors they'd put everything back. That happened on March 22nd. Since then, week after week they keep promising to try to come back and week after week they are no shows. I even explained to them that our building is expected to have a freeze on construction projects this week due to an impending strike so can they please wrap up this job before then, and they said yes but are now not responding to emails. I hope they ultimately make good on their service contract and I will update this review if that happens. For now, please steer clear, fellow yelpers.

I have worked with Gaudioso Contracting on several successful projects. One of the first jobs we worked on together was when Anthony Gaudioso's team rebuilt the street facade of a row house in BedStuy, Brooklyn, for me. His guys first got to the bottom of what had been done incorrectly by the previous cheapo contractor. They started by removing the other guys' mistakes. Anthony's guys then rebuilt the 3-storey street facade and stoop, created a fanlight over the entry door, ran appropriate wiring for new sconces that would flank the parlor-level entry way and illuminate the garden level entrance. They made sure to waterproof it all thoroughly. When the exterior was watertight, they then repaired the fairly extensive inside water damage. The finish facade, which had been approved by public hearing before the Landmarks Preservation Commission, was going to be a faux-brownstone stucco. When the client had purchased the row house, the street facade was covered in a multicolored, faux flagstone slathered on top of the wood building structure. The new finish facade required a new application of stucco as a faux-brownstone. Gaudioso Contracting provided several different color samples of the stucco finish (matched to other brownstones on the block), and as well as, color samples of alternative window colors, and entry door colors, for the Landmarks inspector's approval. As part of the stucco application process, they built up the elegant window and entry door surround details to satisfy the Landmarks Preservation Commission's inspector. They also brought in Adler Windows to replace all the water-damaged, crumbling, wooden double-hung windows with new thermal paned, powder coated, aluminum windows with appropriate brick molding to satisfy the Landmarks inspector. Gaudioso Contracting also built, painted and installed a replica of the neighboring brownstone's cornice which Landmarks approved. Their work was terrific. Each phase of the work moved smoothly and had expertly skilled craftsmen who specialized in the particular aspect of the job in hand at the time. They were on time and on budget. I was delighted with their reliability, responsiveness and professionalism.
