I stopped in North Platte after driving for most of the day on my way home from Iowa. When I checked-in at my hotel I asked if there was any place I could get a steak at that hour (I mean, when in Rome?) She was doubtful because of the hour, but checked and Nebraska Rib & Chop House was still open, so I headed right over to get a steak to take out. When I got there the host/hostess was nowhere to be seen, so eventually the bartender came over to take care of me. I knew I wanted a NY strip, but my brain was too tired to make decisions about soup or salad and what kind of side I wanted, so the bartender talked me through it - they had a bison chili as one of their soups that was really good, the scalloped potatoes are one of the most popular sides but the garlic mushrooms with the steak just chef's kiss. So I went with the chili and the mushrooms, steak medium rare. The bartender offered me a glass of water while I waited and I was happy to sit at the bar grooving to the 80's tunes they had playing. My order came up quickly and I was on my way in about 15 minutes. I have to admit that I didn't really think through eating a take out steak with plasticware, but for the most part it was tender enough to work. The steak was closer to rare than medium rare but still delicious, and my pups got a few of the rarer pieces. I would have enjoyed the mushrooms with my steak more if they were sliced, but it still worked. The bison chili was indeed delicious. I'd come here again the next time I'm passing through. read more

We dined at this restaurant on Mother's Day which was also high school graduation. Place was packed. We had reservations for 10. They seated us in a room with just one other table. It was perfect. Food was amazing. Service was great. Our waitress was overwhelmed but did a great job. Bar service was slow but it was such a busy day. What a great experience. We will return to this establishment. Our server was very nice, however, the food was lacking. they had a menu which was limited for Mother's Day and you could ONLY order off of that menu. The Chicken & Broccoli Fettuccine (Alfredo sauce was supposed to be Cajun) was bland and runny and it was spaghetti noodles not fettuccine, very disappointing. My son's pork chop was not cooked.,, my other son had chicken fingers and they were burnt. If you have a limited menu then I believe you should put effort into making sure it is perfect. We waited shy of 2 hours for our dinner last night. There was 6 of us, but bigger parties than ours came in and got their food and left. The waitress barely came and checked on us. I feel sorry for the girl she's training. We asked for refills waited forever. Took FOREVER before anyone even waited on us. There was a male waiter far nicer and he actually checked in on us. Food was good, but our experience started with our salads being delivered on a platter with another tables dirty dishes which included a heaping pile of bones from an order of eaten wings. The server then left said platter with dirty dishes at the end of our booth. Not sure what Nebraska's health codes are, but in Minnesota you definitely don't deliver food to a table with another tables dirty dishes next to the food you're bringing out. read more

Our gang of 4 here now for lunch of a variety. And all was really good. Plain cheesecake first was..ok. We have experienced much better. My request for rare prep burger wasn't. Like the previous reviews said, the service and atmosphere were great! We got in for an early dinner at 5 with plenty of room, but by 5:30 the place was bustling. Even though they got so busy, the service remained steady and friendly which I can really appreciate. Drinks were refreshing and tall. We got a couple of steak entrees that come with a salad and side, all delicious, only complaint is that they all come out on separate tiny plates; I lost a good amount of salad falling off the edges of the tiny plates haha. The garlic mushrooms were yummy, potatoes au gratin just okay. The steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly, best steak I've had in a long time. read more

Terrible service. We came here with relatives that live here in North Platte and come here often. There were 11 of us. Our waitress got most of our orders wrong. The food was cold. It was a bad experience. When you spend $500 for the group you would expect better food and service. Our waitress needs more training and needs to listen to the customers. We come here once or twice a year, but we will not be back to this restaurant and it will be a while before my relatives come back to this restaurant. It's really sad. read more

The atmosphere was great. And the water good. But that is about it. I ordered chicken tenders and although they were moist they had no flavor what so ever. I asked for bbq and ranch and never got it. My husband ordered the garlic shrimp pasta and again it had no garlic and shrimp was very bland. Mom ordered the ribs and they were tender again but kinda burnt tasting on the outside and her baked potato and mac n cheese were cold. My dad ordered the 9oz filet medium and it definitely came rare no big deal sent it back but it came back well done/burnt. And it took another 20 min. His potato was also cold. The food took 40 min to get to our table. The service was medeoker, she was super nice. But left us for large amounts of time. Overall for the money it was just not worth it. First time lunch. Friendly staff! Food was filling and tasteful. I had the French dip (one of my favorite sandwiches). Unique flavor; never had a smokey tasting French dip... definitely delicious. Four of us for dinner, We all ordered cheese burgers, none came out correct. None cooked correctly, and two were the wrong burgers. Ketchup were in packets and we got 4 for all of us, but the mayo and mustard came out in 1/4 cup containers. Never refilled drinks, and the drink orders, two of those were wrong. When you are spending $100 for 4 burgers and 4 ice tea, need a little more attention to detail. After the meal the manager comped our dinners and even offered dessert. The salad was a joke. Walmart brown mix bag and optioned for a 2 year old. Appetizer taste was ok but again, portioned for a 2 year old. A disappointing birthday dinner. My wife had ribs and chicken while I had ribs and shrimp. The ribs were horrible. Burnt on the outside, dry on the inside and not much flavor. The shrimp was 65% mushy batter. The dipping sauces were nothing special. Overall we would have been happier with Burger King. Not worth the cost and doubtful we will return. I ordered four meals and unfortunately, all four were messed up. Two burgers were supposed to have no onion and no tomato, but both came with them. One meal was missing the baked potato I asked for, and I only received one side instead of two for multiple meals. One order was also missing a side completely, and no utensils were included for a to-go order. The food itself was just okay, but the order was incomplete and inaccurate. Ribs were good however received 4 three inch and the 7 ounce steak, they substituted for 6 ounce. and it was way overcooked, paid full price. And we waited and waited for our bill to pay. Had to go to the desk so we could pay and waited another 15 minute. Now this shouldn't all reflect on our waitress. while we waited for our ticke/ bill you could see at least 5 to 6 staff members just standing around. My wife and i had our date night here on Feb, 1st a Saturday night. Atmosphere was nice but very busy. we arrived around 6 pm and ordered a couple drinks and food. About 1 hour and 15 mins later our food finally arrived. My wife's shrimp was over cooked to the point she couldn't eat it. I got the chicken marsala. I got a couple of bites into the chicken and realized it was raw! The manager was concerned and took our food back to the kitchen and told us based on the wait time and food issues that we weren't paying for anything, so we got up and left after talking with her.
