I called this place and asked basic questions about the store and what kind of things they buy and some rude lady said "well I only take luxury things soooo I don't know if I could help you" and I hadn't even said what bags I had yet lol. I came with 2 family members to buy items for my wedding. While I was looking for clothing items my cousin asked where to find dress shoes from an older looking Karen who appeared to be the owner. The answer we received back was there was only designer shoes and could not afford them. We brushed it off but shortly after we heard her scolding an employee for allowing my grandma to utilize the restroom then going inside startling her. It was very unfortunate as we saw multiple items we wanted to purchase but was dissuaded for continuing to shop. I can only assume your lack of accountability and rude behavior afterwords is a response to me asking about veterans discount when I first came in so if that's the case I will make sure to reach out to my local VA about your discrimination toward disabled veterans. read more

I have been researching locations to go sell my high end items. I was originally planning on going to sell here. I decided to look at the reviews and everyone purchasing seems to have amazing experiences, but the people selling seem to have horrible experiences. Based off of the comments and reviews i am seeing here. What a shame, as i have REALLY cool authentic items i could have sold to this shop. I will continue to look around. I took my silk dresses and my purses and never got paid. I called numerous times to make an appointment to pick up my money and she would not show up. Then on a local social page her excuse is 'You were confused with the different consignment store double check before you say things online because I don't even know who you are and double check please'. Talk about RUDE. I came in here to look for vintage Dooney and Bourke bags and there were a few in OK condition...retailing for $100. At first the lady/owner was nice and suggested I look through the trunks for any potential treasures. I was sifting through purses and she asks me (as if she didn't know already) what I was looking for, then stops and gets this nasty look on her face. Similar to a snake spitting venom, she asks, "you're a reseller aren't you?" I was so caught off guard by her rudeness I didn't have time to respond that NO, I am not a reseller. Even if I was, why does it matter? She then condescendingly says, "yeah...you're a reseller" and walks away haughtily. Uhm...wtf lady. She then proceeded to ignore me the rest of the time I was there. Before I left I waved and said goodbye to her but I guess she felt so offended by my presence she didn't want anything to do with me. I'm an avid vintage purse collector, not a reseller. Have some class and learn some manners before you speak to potential customers this way. Trashy woman. Never going back here. read more

Shopping here is fine but beware of consigning items to Norma Jean. She is completely unorganized, dishonest, and a thief. I consigned numerous items to her - she never provided a real inventory of the items. She was unresponsive when I contacted her about sales of my items. When I asked that I get my unsold items returned, she made me go through the store and find the items myself. Of course, I was unable to find them all. She also refused to return a beautiful brand new wool artisan scarf claiming it was hers even though I later provided proof that it was mine. She must have some success treating consignors this way as she doesn't have to be responsible for her actions. I regret ever coming across her. Beware! read more

Like most of those who placed their items for sale, I was never contacted or paid for the items I had thought were placed on consignment. Honestly, I did not like my experience there. I was told that all my vintage items were just copies and I tried to explain to her that I got them second handed at this Japanese Consignment store that is know for having authentic, vintage items. She saw my vintage Chanel Ladybug heels that had covered soles because the soles were just awful, she saw my Chanel Independence Day bag from 2016 that was part of a gift set to Chanel clients, designed by Karl Lagerfeld, but she said the bag isn't real because it's plastic. I even brought two Dior bags from John Galliano, the Cadillac Dior bag in Olive Green and the Limited Edition Raffia bag. And I also got them authenticated which I tried to explain to her, but she said she couldn't take them. I don't really think she knows a lot about fashion, and designers to be quite honest and I wouldn't go to her if you are considering. I have had a Tiffany & Co. purse that was gifted to me in my closet for the past five years or so. I decided to take it in today to see what I could get for it. I called ahead and the owner says to bring it in. When I get there I explained that I received it as a gift and had never entirely removed it from the packaging. The owner opens the box, doesn't even fully remove the purse from the box, and goes off on a tangent about how the fabric is too thin to be authentic and that she is not interested in buying my purse that was, according to her, "clearly a fraud." She closes the box, hands it to me (all the while telling me how she sees so many frauds that she knows one right away.) I told her thank you for looking at that I would either gift it or sell it online. I wanted to show her the card of authenticity and the stickers on the box showing where it came from and the product numbers....but instead too my purse and left - knowing I did nothing wrong but feeling bad none the less. I will not go back to her store, she left me feeling less than. All I wanted was to sell something taking up space in my closet. She could have been a little more polite. read more

After my initial review I was contacted by Norma. After some back and forth conversations, I will say that Norma has offered a payment in hopes of satisfying this issue. Although I have no idea which items may have been sold and for how much anything sold for, I am accepting her offer. It's OK that I am no longer in her system - I won't be doing business there again. I'm sure business will continue as normal without me. Thank you for the payment, Norma. -------------------------------------------------------------- I had a good amount of jewelry on consignment here, with wording added on my contract that any unsold items would be returned to me. The location in Montclair closed down with no notice given to me as a customer who has items on sale there - and luckily I found the new location and asked about my items. When I went to pick everything up, I was told that my things were no longer in her computer. So she couldn't tell what had sold or not. The only way to find my things was to look through every piece of jewelry and find the tags with my number on them. Good luck - there was way too much to look at every tag. She offered my one piece of jewelry that I mentioned was cute as I searched for my things. Disgusted and in disbelief that a business is run like this, I took what few pieces of my things I managed to find and left. What should have been done was take an old inventory list, add up the costs listed for each item, and give me a check for my things not returned. The contract clearly stated to return items if not sold. Norma, if you need a copy of the inventory list you gave me with my first (and possibly only) payment for sales, I can get you a copy and you can make this right. You have some great things in the store, including lots of my jewelry. read more

Cute store with a lot of extreamly overpriced used items. Found a Faded Glory short sleeve top marked at $28, Faded Glory is sold Walmart, this top would have sold brand new for half that price. I love this store with some great name brand finds. You can find things for your home, clothing that is rare one of a kind possibly celebrity pre owned. They have jewelry accessories as well. There are selections for men too. I saw some beautiful silk men pajamas that could've been used as a pantsuit for a woman. I found this consignment shop by chance on google. I was looking to resell some clothes that are in very good condition but not worth sending to the goodwill yet. I had the bag of clothes in my car and thought I would just stop by. I was greeted by the lady (assuming she's the owner) and let her know that I was looking to resell some of my items but asked if she only takes luxury brands. I told her some of the brands that I had in my bag and she said those were fine but that she only takes things that are in season; which I understand as most consignments will require that. She mentioned she could look at my items since she didn't have anyone coming in. I asked if it was by appointment only to which she responded yes to, so just know that ahead of time. I apologized for barging in on her. So far, she seemed polite. She then goes on to tell me that all my clothes need to be in hangers and steamed so they're not wrinkled. She took out one item, looked at it but didn't hold it up and says (with an attitude and a little snooty if you ask me) "agh I can't do this! I don't look through bags. The clothes has to be hung and ready to go." Confused, I said that I thought this was a consignment shop? She responded that it is but that she did not want to look through bags. If I wanted to work that hard I would've hung the clothes myself and taken pictures to post them on a resell website like I have with my other clothes. So if you're looking to get rid of items quickly don't go to this shop unless you're clothes are hung, pressed and basically as if you just bought them from Saks or Bloomingdales! C'mon! Seriously! I've brought my stuff here since Norma has owned the store! They've been around since 82' they have a lot of consigners.. people thinking that they call you when something sells is crazy! You have to follow up with them and check it for yourself. I've ALWAYS followed up and checked for myself and got my check and a tax write off form with no questions or issues!
