Even coming at 9 am, there's still a crowd waiting to get in. I've learned if you just wait in your vehicle till about 6 or 7 minutes after then open the gates, the crowd has all gone in and no lines for the baskets. I gte my card scanned in no prob. The inside looks about like most Costco's look with all the big TV's up front and the meat all the way in the back. I do like the prime grade meat the have available at Costco. Here's a tip, if you're looking to get a bunch of meat, say steaks, prime or choice grade, you can get significant discounts if you ask the meat guy for the bulk packs and slice the steaks yourself. I got some prime Chuck steaks regular price $17.99 a pound for just $12.25 a pound by buying the bulk vac sealed pack. Well, I can't stop into a Costco and not get a hot dog for $1.50! That's almost free in the big scheme of things, along with a soda.

Gentleman showed up within 30 minutes on a Saturday evening from the local Chevron. His name was Akash and found out he was the owner. He was extremely friendly and courteous. I asked if there was a tire place in town that could fix our tire. He said bring it by his station the next day Sunday and he would have his crew fix. We showed up the next day, he was there and had his team fix within 30 minutes. Such great service and extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you for taking care of us.

He finally comes back and I give him $36 for regular gas, he gets the pump going... I have a small gas tank so when it stops pumping it's full otherwise it overflows. It stops at $31.39 so I tell him to just round it up to $31.50... he says "No, I'm going to round it off to $32" as he starts pumping and I tell him, No please don't it will overflow. He insists and I told him No we are done while he argues with me. He stops at $31.59. and gives me attitude then tells me he can only give me dollars because he doesn't have change and he lacks common sense (and cents), comes back giving me only $4 shorting me 41 cents whereupon I called him out and he argues with me, finally gets the change after initially refusing to do so (Ah he did have change after all!!) and slams it onto the back of my car when I extend my hand out for it. And then he bluffed a punch at me while taking two steps toward me and my left came up instinctively and he backed down. I had no idea getting gas could be such an adventure! It turns out, he claimed at least, that he is the owner of the 76 Gas station in Brookings OR. He and his lady friend kept insulting me and verbally attacking me... he even told me "The next time you come here you can pump your own gas!" Say what? With the attempt to steal money from me and almost starting a physical altercation there won't be a next time Pal. I used to stop in at this gas station exclusively when in Brookings - never again. One Star only because the review forced me to give one star when he deserves zero stars for behaving like a zero.

The young lady at the front counter said it's no longer Ellen's but instead simply FDM-Fort Dick Market. They had everything from the fresh donuts, cinnamon rolls from heaven, fried chicken wings and legs, breakfast burritos made with largest wheat tortillas with huge amounts of all kind of meat and cheese and eggs and potatoes! They also sell everything like soft drinks, coffee from Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Mountain Dew and other favorites. The service was slow until another employee showed up to help out. The amazing thing is when no other restaurant is open, these three ladies are the only game in Crescent City and Fort Dick. Sunday morning is dead everywhere except at the impressive FDM!
