Needed a quick bite on our way through Brookings and settled on this spot. It was very unassuming…read morefrom the outside. Just your classic market store serving gas station snacks and drinks with a deli. They have a ton of sandwich options both hot and cold. We settled on the Walk of Shame and the Cheesesteak. I really enjoyed my sandwich (walk of shame). The sweet pickles were a good choice to balance some of the heat. Pastrami and bread were great. My husband said he was let down by the cheesesteak. The meat itself was good but the veggies were a little undercooked and he said it was lacking cheese. Each sandwich comes with a fountain drink and chips.

He finally comes back and I give him $36 for regular gas, he gets the pump going... I have a small gas tank so when it stops pumping it's full otherwise it overflows. It stops at $31.39 so I tell him to just round it up to $31.50... he says "No, I'm going to round it off to $32" as he starts pumping and I tell him, No please don't it will overflow. He insists and I told him No we are done while he argues with me. He stops at $31.59. and gives me attitude then tells me he can only give me dollars because he doesn't have change and he lacks common sense (and cents), comes back giving me only $4 shorting me 41 cents whereupon I called him out and he argues with me, finally gets the change after initially refusing to do so (Ah he did have change after all!!) and slams it onto the back of my car when I extend my hand out for it. And then he bluffed a punch at me while taking two steps toward me and my left came up instinctively and he backed down. I had no idea getting gas could be such an adventure! It turns out, he claimed at least, that he is the owner of the 76 Gas station in Brookings OR. He and his lady friend kept insulting me and verbally attacking me... he even told me "The next time you come here you can pump your own gas!" Say what? With the attempt to steal money from me and almost starting a physical altercation there won't be a next time Pal. I used to stop in at this gas station exclusively when in Brookings - never again. One Star only because the review forced me to give one star when he deserves zero stars for behaving like a zero.

On our way out of town, my vehicle got in a fender bender, and Kevin swooped in and hooked up my rig like it was no big deal. His kindness and patience was much appreciated, with everything my family and I had already been through during the week. I didn't get to catch the name of the tow truck driver who drove me/my ride down into California (a 200 mile trip!) but he was a great sport, and gave me a huge hug after dropping me off. I'm very thankful for the compassion these guys showed me during a pretty stressful time in my life. Highly recommend.

Yes, I did definitely call your Company because I had it written down with your companies information and phone number and price I was quoted. I didn't just guess at your companies information. I know why you are giving your rebuttal, but now on top of your terrible customer service you are a liar. I drove for 12 hours to get here towing a 20 foot container and I was tired. When I called at 1 pm, you guys blew me off rudely and didn't even allow me to ask a question but proceed to just hang up. Luckily, I found a towing company in Brookings that came all the way up here and was half the price I was quoted by your Company. This is why there are these forums, to rate businesses. Instead of being sarcastic referring to me as liar you should have accepted responsibility and apologized by saying you would be looking into this and rectifying the problem. Obviously, being defensive tells the entire story.

He offered us a lower price of 3.29 per gallon with a car wash. He only put in 5 gallons of gas and charged us 7.99 for the car wash! We ran our car through the wash and then went back to the pump realizing that he didn't fill up the car!! Sooo he said it automatically shut off at 5 gallons due to an air bubble and he couldn't change to the lower per gallon price so we would have to pay the higher price of 3.49 to get more gas. What a double rip off!! 3.29 a gallon for 5 gallons only plus 7.99 for car wash. Do the math!! What a con game! Glad we can pump our own gas in California!! I hope these owners lose the Shell franchise!!
