We arrived in Gold Beach around 8pm at our Airbnb only to find 2 nails in our tire. Called road side assistance who sent out a local auto person to change the tire. Gentleman showed up within 30 minutes on a Saturday evening from the local Chevron. His name was Akash and found out he was the owner. He was extremely friendly and courteous. I asked if there was a tire place in town that could fix our tire. He said bring it by his station the next day Sunday and he would have his crew fix. We showed up the next day, he was there and had his team fix within 30 minutes. Such great service and extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you for taking care of us. read more

We were returning home to Washington from a road trip to California when the "check oil" light went on south of San Francisco. Checked the dip stick and sure enough. The car had been serviced at a dealership just before we left. With less than 80,000 miles on a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek, we were at a loss as to what was happening. After spending the night in Healdsburg, we noticed a small pool of oil -- a first. But it looked like nothing more than a few drops. Off to Crescent City! The next morning, it looked like the Exxon Valdez had parked in our spot. Another quart and darn! It was Sunday morning and nothing in Crescent City was open. Some kind advice from a woman at a service station and we were off, armed with more oil. While one of us drove cautiously, the other called for options. It looked like Gold Beach was our best bet, with a backup plan down the road in Bandon. We pulled in to the Chevron station where the owner was working alone. On a Sunday morning. He immediately had us pull in to a service bay and told us to check back in in 30 minutes. The verdict: a loose drain plug in the oil pan. We never would have made it to Bandon. He tightened the plug to spec., cleaned the battery terminals, removed the oily mess using brake fluid, and washed the windshield. The cost: $20. After filling up, shaking hands and thanking him profusely, we were off, safe in the knowledge that a true craftsman with a heart of gold had made us roadworthy again. EV and all of his staff are amazing. We moved to Gold Beach in 2011 and ended up there because my husband likes Chevron gas. Over the years, they've become like family. They've done repairs, oil changes, detailing and moved our 5th wheel and that of our friend as well. As we're leaving Gold Beach, EV had some awesome advice for traveling across country for us. Tire pressure light came on at the beginning of a 7 hour trip. The attendant was amazing. He checked the pressure and added air to the low tire. Bathroom was amazingly clean and COVID protocol was being followed. I highly recommend this station. read more

This place was honestly life saving. I cannot recommend it enough. We stopped to gas up, then noticed they had some tires. We had had a flat tire on our camper trailer that morning, so the spare was on and we were needing a replacement. The gas attendant was speedy and considerate, so nice and on top of things. They also washed our windshield promptly and so thoroughly! I asked about tires, and he proceeded to make it a priority to lay out all my options with clear pricing and no pressuring whatsoever. He explained the wear patterns and what was important for safety about trailer tires, and then got me accurate quotes for all options. I was SHOCKED at the affordable price. The Walmart in Boise fixed our last trailer flat at THE SAME PRICE AS THREE NEW TIRES + SERVICE at this family run chevron. I was amazed and so grateful. The Walmart also took about 4 hours to get us through the "line" to fix our one tire, while we were in and out of this place in under an hour (for three times the tires). The gentleman even offered to back the trailer into place for us if we were worried about it. They paid attention to every detail and even gave us recommendations to other local businesses for other repairs. There's a great little bookstore/coffee shop next door to kill time, but you won't even need it. They're so fast! read more
