Pulled up at 7:05 AM, told by attendant there would be a 20 minute wait. Okay. I wasn't in a rush so I started to read a book. He's by himself and I don't have work until 9. He finally comes back and I give him $36 for regular gas, he gets the pump going... I have a small gas tank so when it stops pumping it's full otherwise it overflows. It stops at $31.39 so I tell him to just round it up to $31.50... he says "No, I'm going to round it off to $32" as he starts pumping and I tell him, No please don't it will overflow. He insists and I told him No we are done while he argues with me. He stops at $31.59. and gives me attitude then tells me he can only give me dollars because he doesn't have change and he lacks common sense (and cents), comes back giving me only $4 shorting me 41 cents whereupon I called him out and he argues with me, finally gets the change after initially refusing to do so (Ah he did have change after all!!) and slams it onto the back of my car when I extend my hand out for it. And then he bluffed a punch at me while taking two steps toward me and my left came up instinctively and he backed down. I had no idea getting gas could be such an adventure! It turns out, he claimed at least, that he is the owner of the 76 Gas station in Brookings OR. He and his lady friend kept insulting me and verbally attacking me... he even told me "The next time you come here you can pump your own gas!" Say what? With the attempt to steal money from me and almost starting a physical altercation there won't be a next time Pal. I used to stop in at this gas station exclusively when in Brookings - never again. One Star only because the review forced me to give one star when he deserves zero stars for behaving like a zero. read more

Friendly, fast, and a surprisingly clean washroom! Oh yeah, and it's Oregon so they pump your gas! What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, and cheaper if you past cash :-) read more

I am posting this review in the hopes the owner sees it and does something about the crazy person at this gas station right away. I go here 3 days a week out of convenience to fill my work truck I also go to fill to fill my personal truck (well not anymore) I was waiting by my truck for them to finish shift change as I was waiting I pulled my card out just to have it ready for Then the guy yells at me "the pumps don't work it's shift change!" I reply "I know I'm just waiting" then he says "if you wanna to have a fu**ing attitude about it f**ing get your gas somewhere else!" I reply "I think that's a good idea and as I look around the other workers were in shock and there were children that heard the outburst and cursing. I am very upset I've never been treated like this before anywhere in this town. Bottom line if you have small children don't get gas here you never know what they will hear while this guy works there. I only put one star because I had too to post the review they get 0 stars. read more

The gas station employee made a huge ordeal when I stepped out of my car to pump my own gas. He claimed that Oregon law stated I was not allowed to touch the pump. However this Oregon law changed January 2018. Very nasty attitude. Will not return. read more

Hijacking, intimidation, threats - be careful here. I pulled into this Conoco on way home from Crater Lake at 7 am on July 19, 2018. I asked if the price was same for cash and credit and was told it was cheaper cash. I instructed the attendant (According to receipt "Richard") to fill my tank for cash. When he got done I gave him a hundred dollar bill for a $27 fill, and got this: "Ok, you have a choice. I don't have the change, so you can either leave me the hundred or your drivers license and go look for change." I offered to pay for it with credit at the higher price but no, "It's already booked as a cash sale". So now I'm hunting around for change in Brookings at 7 am (not so easy). I went back half a mile to the McDonalds where I just bought my coffee and they were very nice to break it (they're getting a five star review). When I got back I was pretty pissed off at the 25 minute delay to my long driving day and I expressed such to the attendant, voicing the idea that this was (expletive deleted) hijacking, and that I was going to write the mother of all yelp reviews. He responded by saying "Well in that case I'm going to take your picture with your license plate." He got out his phone and as he took the picture I embellished it with the familiar hand gesture to express my feelings at being photographed. He said "You want that in there?" I said yes. He said "You'll have a ticket waiting for you when you get home." (Really? Did Oregon do away with the first amendment? Can't wait to fight that one!). Corporate Conoco, if you read this: Let your attendants have $ for change, at least in OR where people can't prepay and get this info ahead of time, and if I don't hear from you with an apology that's my last trip to Conoco. Oh, and the topper was the gas was cheaper across the state line in Cali at the Indian casino. read more
