I had my contractor's invoice from 2020 which turned out to be for the pressure treated wood for the new deck built then. LP and Izzy together were able to go to my contractor's page, find the specs about the TimberTech used, and refresh my memory about the color. They gave me a sample board and a TimberTech Source Book, encouraging me to call the company about the strange bleached-out stain on my deck. They also quoted me the cost of two replacement boards for my handyman to purchase for the repair. Problem solved. LP and Izzy were friendly, personable and eager to be of help... and at the end of a long Saturday. So, please add this review to counter some of the really negative ones I read on this website.

As neighborhood hardware stores go, this place is the genuine article. They have a wide range of fasteners (sold by the piece, not in poly-bags!), plumbing and electrical items appropriate to the kinds of houses found in the neighborhood, lawn and garden supplies, cleaning supplies, paint and -- most of all -- a very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. (Ooops, I almost forgot to mention a handsome and somewhat aloof Maine coon cat named "Hershey" who protects the lawn and bird seed from mice and provides the store with senior management.) I've been involved in construction and renovation work for many years, and this kind of hardware store is getting difficult to find. ( I was working with a carpenter installing a huge Andersen bay window which is supported by internal wire cables. Atlas True Value had large turnbuckles, 10" through bolts and wire rope clamps all in stock. ) As might be expected, they're a little bit more expensive than the big-box Lowes and Home Depot, but I frequently find they're more economical because I can get first-quality items in the quantity I need and I don't have to spend the time and gas money to go miles when I need something. My only complaint is that they shorten their business hours during the summer months and close a little earlier on Sundays.

Even if the price for a key is a buck or two higher than at HomeDepot, - I would prefer coming here, because there is always some problem at Home Depot, either all the machines (they have 2 or 3) are broken, or they don't have the blanks, or the hands are growing from the wrong place. When I came to duplicate my "high-security" car key, the person who did that made sure that I was aware of all different aspects of those keys (the key transmitter inside the fob, etc. - the information that took me quite some time to research).
