I went over to Home Depot for shades for my windows. Even though the aisles are labeled, I had to ask an employee where to find the the shades. He led me over to where the shades were located. After that , It was pretty much self-serve as the first step is selecting the shade and then I could cut with a saw there in the store, to the desired length. I also have picked up orchids at Home Depot. They are reasonably priced at 16.98 so even if they die, how could you go wrong. read more

I went to get a Christmas tree like I do every year but this year there were flashing Flock Cameras and you know... it doesn't feel right shopping with those things overhead. Subjecting myself to facial recognition software isn't part of the deal when I want to go shopping and frankly there are other places to buy this stuff. Today at Home Depot I told two staff people working together that I needed a cheap key copy, for 4 keys. He said these are 2.25 each and proceeded to take forever. I went up to the register to purchase them when they were finally made and they rang up as 4.97 each. I went back and asked him why he didn't give me the 2.25 ones and he said these are the least expensive they have at 4.97. I said "you said they were half that." He then replied "well if you only get 2 and not 4 they will be" ........That was the fourth inappropriate customer service response there on the same day, each from different staff people! Most executives learned very quickly how to hide and become invisible just like all the rest of the Home Depot associates. This great new policy allows the customer: to continue to find items on their own, self check out , work around closed aisles where the help is napping and return shopping carts to the designated area. HORRIBLE customer service. I ordered a window AC unit for same day delivery and they sent the wrong one. When I called I was transferred 3 different times only to end up with an exasperated & out of breath man who was angry that he had to walk to the front desk to give the phone to the supervisor. The supervisor was extremely rude and said they sent that one since they were out of stock of the other. When I asked why they didn't just tell me it was out of stock and cancel the order he said they didn't think it would make a difference. The AC is literally a completely different size and doesn't fit.... He then HUNG UP ON ME when I asked if they could pick it up and refund me. I called back to get the same tired employee as before who was mad and asked how I got this number...sir...it's literally the only number online to contact.... He then walked back & handed me to the supervisor who said I should just accept the wrong AC. He kept up with the rude attitude when I asked again if they could just pick it up and refund me since it is not only not what I ordered but also does not fit. HE HUNG UP AGAIN!!!! With 10 parking spots designated for curbside pickup, we found it very convenient. Not all items are available for curbside pickup, however, so I did have to ask a friend who was still shopping in person to help me pick up a roll of blue towels during one of her infrequent trips earlier on in the pandemic. I'm currently remodeling my home which is about a $100,000 job. I purchased a toilet and shower base for the remodel. Our contractor changed the specs of design from shower to a tub so therefore we no longer need the shower base. I went into Home Depot today at around 11:30 with my husband and newborn. And was told the shower base was already returned in their system. How can that be when I have and am returning it? I was given no solutions or refund. Took the shower base and opened an IT ticket. Left Home Depot at 2:30 with more headaches and aggravations then what I came in with. This place is so disorganized. I went to return a grill and had someone start the process only to walk away. She did this about 3 times and helped another worker with another customer. Was very frustrating especially when social distancing is non existent and people are whizzing by you non stop. On top of everything else I called regarding a grill that was delivered assembled & the plastic that was still on the grill was clearly labeled to remove before assembling. While I waited for my grill cover to come in, I finally got a chance to start taking this plastic off. It left a horrible stain on the stainless steel. I proceeded to use stainless steel cleaner with a new micro fiber cloth and most of it came off while other parts will not clean. There are also patterns of scratches in different areas. Not happy at all. A Father's Day gift that turned into a Father's Day project and I can't get through to anyone. Not a cheap grill. Shouldn't have to deal with this. Update: called 7/10/20 and was offered 10% off to keep the headache. Not enough. I want my grill, new and intact. In order to do that, they said "I" have to pay for them to pick up a grill that I have that is defective/damaged which I paid to have delivered. Wanted to buy ring camera. Instructions at display stated "scan QR of item, and go to register". Scanned item, went to register-cashier was not able to scan code. Woman who was supervising registers finally broke free from the very important conversation she must have been having with her friends, and told me I needed to go back, and take picture of item I wanted. Starting to see why I should have went elsewhere to purchase my windows. First of all, they missed the first consultation visit which was rescheduled because we weren't in the system. Although the design consultation went well, we were told stock items are low so it would take a couple of months. We made a down payment, because it was within our budget. Fast forward a couple months later, no windows and a lack of communication on where we are in the process. I called the design consultant directly and was told I would get a call back. I received a "text" follow up "I'll see what I can find out." When I followed up the text said "I'll see what I can find out." I shouldn't have to follow up and details should be given. Ordered 10 Anderson Windows. One was broken in shipping. I had to fill out the same form twice, they lost the first electronic one. HD asked Anderson to replace the window and they wouldn't because it was broken by the shipper. HD told me to get the shipper to replace the window. After some discussion HD agreed to replace the window if I brought the broken window back. I did that afternoon and HD wouldn't provide me with proof that I returned it. They did order the replacement window but are requesting $1250 to get it out of the back of the store. The store manager will not return any of my 30 plus phone calls and the 9 times I've come to the store he hasn't been available even when his staff tells me he is in. If you look at the item and can walk out of store with it great, but custom orders I would recommend going to a smaller store. read more

I decided to write this review in order to acknowledge Johannes, who went above and beyond in helping me find the only part needs to assemble my faucet a washer. Johannes possesses great customer service skills, being a manager for years I can recognize a talent when I see it. He went thru many washers, despite explaining me he doesn't specialize in that department, till he found the part I needed just by looking a the picture I showed him. Johannes is an asset to your brand and the reason I felt compelled to compliment him. I also find the managers at the customer service counter quite reasonable, and always put the client first. I've only had good experiences here, finding everthing I need at lower prices and better selection than Lowe's. Customer service has been friendly and helpful. If you search for your product on their website, it shows if it's in stock at that branch and exactly what aisle and bin it's in. Usually do self-checkout so I'm in and out very fast. Can't speak for if I had larger difficult projects that needed more knowledgeable customer service. read more

We went here to replace our broken kenmore water heater. The Home Depot associate recommended us a plumber. That plumber asked us to send pictures of our broken water heater and he recommended us the WRONG model: We sent that plumber 7 pictures of the water heater, with one shot including the entire model We also paid express delivery for $79.00 to arrive by 8 PM. (We placed the order at 11 AM). However, when my dad went to customer service, the guy told us that the water heater was never shipped. It was a no call no show. Even though we placed an order for the water heater to arrive the same day, it wasn't even in the process of being delivered. So we experienced delivery problems, and then it turns out that the water heater we ordered was the WRONG one. (Our old water heater had a height of 48 inches, and the plumber recommended a 54 inch one). In the end, we had to return the water heater ourselves. My parents, who are in their 60s were so stressed out. They both have high blood pressure and take medication for it. The whole process of ordering and replacing the old water heater should have been solved in 3 days. Now, it will take a few more days. We haven't had hot water for a week now. read more

Man, this store sets a whole new level in horrible customer support. Most of their associates in lumber section acts like they're retarded when you ask for help. I came there looking for 1x4x8 boards and I knew they carry em in stock. And indeed they were in stock but on the upper shelf. I asked an associate for help so they moved the boards down for me. He said "go ask guys on a fork lift". Really? Isn't it supposed to be your job? Okay, I found another associate and asked him to help me and he promised to help and just left and never returned. Guess what. I found third rep and he couldn't speak English, only spanish, couldn't understand what I wanted. So here I am in front of a store and literally nobody wants to help me. What would you do in such a situation? Talk with a manager? I left, feeling myself terrible. Like there are plenty of people in a lumber section and they're all supposed to be earning their hourly rates helping people and all they do is hiding when you ask for help. Gone way down hill. Place is a factory. The only good part is the nursery. Anything indoors and you are on your own. Scraping the bottom of the barrel with some employees. Some of the better employees have stuck it out and they are consistent thank God. As a whole anything indoors, there is no service available. Highly unlikely anyone there will ever address it. This place is definitely improving and I'd love to give it a better review when I can. They have made improvements by removing the aggressive third-party vendors that used to follow me throughout the store trying to get me to buy windows, vinyl siding, or kitchen cabinet refacing. Some would pitch you twice in different aisles, or follow you while babbling their pitch after you told them to away, or shove things in your face. I stopped going there for literally years. But I do like Behr paint, and it was time to do some DIY. No vendors! I wheeled my cart over to buy some serious 5-gallon drums of my favorite ultra-pure white. I parked my cart next to the paint, and was trying to find the kind I wanted among the different textures. Then a manager came over and snapped at me for "blocking the aisle" with my cart and ordered me in a hostile tone to move it. It was up against the racks as close as I could get. "Where would you like me to put it?" I asked. "Next to me?" That would have taken up the whole aisle. "Can't you see people can't get by?" she snapped, apparently not realizing that the other half of the aisle was unoccupied and people can go around. Seriously, this is not being rude to stop a cart in an aisle and load it. It happens every time at the grocery store, and we've all learned how to move over and go around. When I pointed this out to her, she stormed off. Then I tried to get an associate help me figure out which texture would give me the best "hide" on bumpy old paint, she acted as if I was really, really bothering her, even though the store was nearly empty. I left. I went back a few days later and bought one drum and tried to get a custom color mix. The man mixing the paint waited on every single man in the store before me (and you know if I speak up, I'm the b*tch). This is not the first time this has happened to me at this store, whether getting paint or cutting keys or getting help in the lumber section. It's offensive. Management, you need to put up numbers as they do at a deli so the floor staff can't pull this. It is hard to get people to get things down from the higher shelves as well. There are signs saying not to reach for higher items, ask a staff member, so they should do that. Don't tell me it's not your aisle and walk off, or tell me you'll help me in a minute and never return, and then when I go looking for you you're cleaning your fingernails with your keys, or even better, waiting on a man. It's too bad, it's so convenient, and it has a great gardening section. It has a great selection and things are nearly always in stock there. Also, most of the customers are contractors or fellow DIYers and will give you more help than the staff. I also greatly dislike the new total lack of cashier checkouts--especially since the machines nearly always jam, or something you scan isn't in the database, or your item is too light to register on the scale and it won't let you charge out. First off I want to say I never write bad reviews because I am in customer service and I know how difficult it can be. But my god that is the worst run store I have ever experienced. I usually go to the Lowe's in Dedham but I had an emergency and needed to go to Home Depot. The service is pathetic. Everyone working there couldn't give 10 s**** about you. They had 50+ people "working" aka sitting on there cellphones being completely useless. They had no aisles open to check out and they had ONE self checkout available. They put paper bags on the other ones and there's a line of us and the girl who was "manning" self checkout refused to open any others to expedite the process she was too busy staring at her cellphone and gossiping with another employee. They are so rude and they make you feel like you're wasting their time. I finally went to customer service to check out because I couldn't wait any longer. As I was checking out another woman who was furious said "I've been looking for help in this department for 30 minutes and I can't find anyone" and the woman rudely said well he leaves at 4 so no one can help you. I don't care how desperate I am next time I will never go back to this awful awful store. I am by no means a Karen but they brought it out in me. The male staff in my experience, with a few exceptions are unhelpful or give misleading information to just get you to go away.
