They were hosting a cross stitch retreat. I registered in December and received a confirmation email. I booked a flight to NJ and a hotel. In April, after I arrive at the hotel, the day before the event, I get an email saying the event is postponed. They claimed I should've received emails and wanted to "update" my information. But they HAD my information from when I registered. I have the confirmation email! I'm out over $1000 in hotel and flights because they can't maintain an email list. read more

Very very poor business practices- very quick to take your money, and then never deliver the goods. I am out a lot of money from their Spring Fest in 2023 that got cancelled at the last minute. I was told repeatedly that refunds were in the works- so far no refund. I believe what they are doing is considered larceny. I placed several orders with Needleworker's Delight on line (paying in advance) last year in March and August. The shop has sent several items that I orders but there is still $390 in outstanding orders that I have received no communication on. I have requested an update on orders as to when they will ship and not receiving an update I have requested a refund to my credit card which I have also not received any communication. I hate providing negative feedback for a stitch shop, but they deserve it. If I could give a zero star rating, I would. Stay away from this shop! The brothers who own it run a shoddy and dishonest operation. I taught for them at their Williamsburg event in December 2021. It is now more than two months later and I still have not been paid despite sending the invoice to Kevin 3 times and sending reminders several times. Each time I email, I get an auto-response and then, eventually Kevin will write back. Each time with a new excuse. I should have expected this because in August 2020, he ordered 125 kits from me at a value of almost $20k. I sent the first batch in October because he needed them first. The second batch was shipped in December. After months and months of emails and threats, I was finally paid in April of 2021. I was self-employed and had bought all of the supplies when he placed the order, so I was out of pocket for 8 months and my business cash flow was missing $20K. He finally paid up when I threatened legal action. In the meantime I retired and I considered not teaching at Williamsburg at all due to Kevin's actions but decided that it would not be fair to my students. No good deed goes unpunished so here I am again, unpaid. All he needs to do is take 5 minutes to write and mail a check but apparently isn't capable of doing that. I highly recommend this beautiful needlework shop! I just had a wonderful experience browsing through this shop to see what they have to offer and they carry it all!! You must come and see all that they have to offer. They have loads of cross-stitch patterns, lots of stitched models and various examples on display that are just exquisite to see in person. The aisles are all thoughtfully organized and easy to navigate through as you find your way around this little gem of a shop. I just fully kitted about 5-6 patterns with fabric, various threads, needle minder, buttons, you name it! The shop owners and employees are very talented and skilled in what they do, take great pride in their work, are extremely friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond in their customer service while I was there to accommodate me and everyone who came with me as well. I left very happy and am so excited to get started on all of my new stitching. I can't wait to go back again. Kevin hand-dyes fabrics and can cut any fabric you want to size! They also have plenty of needlepoint painted canvases and supplies. I'm very new to needlepoint and have only done counted canvas but they have so many threads, fibers, beads, needlework stands, frames, grime guards, scissors, needles, etc, etc, you will find something you need or want for sure. I can't believe this company stays in business! Customer service is horrendous! I have emailed several times about orders from March 2022 and August 2022 that I never received. Finally in February 2023, they sent part of the order with a check to refund the rest of the order. I figured we were finally square after almost a year.....but NO...their check bounced today and I was charged a fee by my bank!! DON'T ORDER FROM THEM....THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS PEOPLE! I have never been more disappointed and mad in my life! I ordered Silweaver fabric back in May thinking I would get the same service as I had previously gotten only to find out it's not so anymore. I was very sympathetic to the fact that COVID was an issue and there may be delays but now it's just crappy service. I cannot get an honest answer to my inquires about my order. I either get no response or told it will "ship by the end of the week". My last email was 3 weeks ago and I was told I would have a tracking number by the end of the week and still NOTHING! I have since ordered some hand dyed fabric from Crosstitch Boutique and have already received that order despite delays due to availability of supplies due to COVID and staffing. I am still trying to get my order but fear that I am out the $68 and the fabric but I now it's the principle of the matter! I placed an order and my payment was processed now I want MY ORDER!! I wish I had know about the change of ownership before I ordered, I would have thought twice. I reported them to the BBB and they didn't flinch. I will NEVER order Silkweaver again! Some years ago, I was very much into counted cross-stitch and came across Silkweaver Fabrics and bought a fair amount of linen from them. I never had a problem getting the fabric in a timely manner. Apparently times have changed. I fell away from stitching for a long time but came back to it and decided to complete a project on blue Aida that I ordered from Silkweaver on July 5th 2019. Several days went by and I didn't hear anything. I sent an inquiring email on July 15 and received an auto-response that they were on vacation until July 17. On July 17th, I received a short email stating that the fabric would be shipping out next week, which should have been July 21-27th. I bet you probably already know that it is now August 10 and I have received neither fabric nor any further email responses (though I did send another on Aug 4). I have come to the conclusion that I will not be receiving the Aida I had ordered and have decided that at least in this day and age I can leave an honest review. I place an order to these people on May 14,2021 At a show. It included threads and a piece of fabric they didn't have in stock. It is now September 4,2021 and I have not seen my products. I sent 2 emails and made 4 phone calls about the order. no responses to the emails at all amend every call I made I received a different excuse as to why I haven't received my order. Gosh, I wish I had read these reviews before ordering from their online shop. In July 2021 I ordered Misty Blue Cashel from them for a little over $20. Seemed like a good deal, and I was happy to find the fabric. Obviously, they didn't have the fabric, because I never received it. Yet they charged my card the day I placed the order! I emailed in September and got a response from Kevin that he'd send a shipping notice when it shipped. I've gotten nothing. I wrote back a couple of weeks ago and asked for my money back; I have not yet received a response. Six months have gone by; they have my money, and I have no fabric. I am glad I didn't order more, as I can see from other reviews that other customers have lost far more money. I'm so disappointed, as I was looking forward to attending their Williamsburg retreat in the future. I placed 2 orders in early June online but am still waiting for my fabrics. When I called about the 1st order Kevin said there was no record of it, no ID number so I placed another order & received an order # for that one. Both orders were quickly posted to my credit account by mid June, even the 1 that they had no record of. My emails aren't answered, the phone calls are never returned because their mailboxes are always full. Their in-person service may be great. Their online service is atrocious. Ordered 1/2 yard of fabric on 9/30. My credit card was promptly billed, and I received a semi-auto "Thank you for your order" e-mail. After a week I hadn't heard anything about shipping, so e-mailed to inquire. No response in the three successive days, so e-mailed them again, asking them to cancel the order and refund me if they hadn't already shipped. On the following day I got an e-mail saying the item had been backordered, had arrived a couple of days prior, and would be going out that day. I asked for the tracking number. As it happens, the package wasn't shipped out until the day after they said it would. Received the fabric today, and it's fine. And well-packed. It's even serged along the cut edges, which is a nice touch. And there's a "Happy stitching" note on the sales slip. So someone in their packing department clearly does care about quality. But I was charged for an item that the company didn't actually have in stock yet, was not informed about the backorder (and they had my e-mail address and phone #), had to e-mail twice to get a response, and was given false information about the shipping date. As a shop owner, I placed a large order for over $1,000 with them. This was on January 10, 2017!! Yes, over a year ago. This is a wonderful needlework shop with extensive dyed linen and other fabrics, an extensive set of charts or patterns, threads, other supplies you may need. Also some needlepoint canvases. My experience is similar to the other review in the "not recommended" section that did not get an item ordered online until a month later. I ordered fabric and my PayPal was charged on April 19th but I did not receive my order until May 12th. I was concerned the item had been lost in shipping. I got no response to my emails. I phoned twice and left messages, once to their voice mail and once to a live person who could not answer my questions. If they called back, they didn't leave a message on our voice mail. What gave me hope is that the other review did finally get her order. On May 9th I got an email from PayPal that my order had shipped. On May 10th I got an apology for their delayed response and the news that the order had shipped. I order a lot of things online and this is the slowest shipping I have dealt with other than from overseas. If they would just state that their expected delivery date will be in a month, like is forewarned on Amazon before you place an order, you would know what to expect. Also if they did not charge PayPal until they finally get around to shipping the item, it would be more ethical and you wouldn't need to fret about needing to cancel the order to get a refund or the item being lost in shipping. Beware, this place has been a nightmare. I placed an order on 12/28/12. After a week of hearing nothing, I sent an email asking about my order. I heard nothing so I sent another email, cancelling my order. The next day I get an email saying my order would go out the following week, I sent aother email stating again I wanted it cancelled. They said it would be cancelled. 1 1/2 weeks later they charged my credit card. I emailed and they said it would be removed. 2 weeks later the charge is still there. I placed an order on November 4, and they promptly charged my credit card. Since then i have been told #1, the fabric was on backorder and they would ship as soon as it came in. #2 the package was shipped, but lost by the postal system and they were filing a claim, #3 package shipped again, and i was provided a tracking number. However, for over a week now, the tracking says a label was created and info will be updated when it's delivered to the postal office. Merchandise is still not received. I've made numerous calls, most of which are only routed through voice mail. I've left messages and sent emails, with no response. On the rare occasions when i've actually talked to a person (Jim), i've Been told he will check and call back. Calls are never returned. Reviews say this is a wonderful place to visit in person. However mail order is an entirely different story. I'm calling the credit card company to disput the charge today. read more
