Very nice people work here. Tons of fabrics to choose from. They offer layaway and accept all major cards. There are also sewing machine maintenance and repair services available which are outsourced and may take up to 2 weeks to complete. I paid $122 to replace a missing part on my old Singer and for a tune up because the machine had been sitting dormant for nearly a decade. I don't know if that's a good price or not, but the machine works and I'm very pleased. I wish they had more sewing accessories for sale. Their main focus here is the fabrics. read more

I have come to this fabric store many times. Spent quite a bit of money there for my personal use as well as business. Today I came in to purchase a variety of zippers, trims and cottons for projects i am selling. 1. Prices went up. 2. I spent over 1 hr in the store. Carrying my little basket filled with stuff. The lady decided to write my yardage at the back of the store. Fine. But then proceeded to carry all my stuff to the front. Not letting me touch again. I should mention she also followed me a nimber of times through the aisles. 3. I basically mentioned she made me feel like she was afraid i d steal something, which i did feel that way. She said "oh it s because he s going to lunch". 4. Several people came to the register on their own, carrying their own stuff. So clearly bullshit. I tell you what. You won t see me again and I will go spend my $100 a month for supplies somewhere else. Yeah i was really up to no good trying to boost $0.85 zippers! You did make me feel like you thought i was going to steal. I am a business owner. I support small businesses like yours. Well not anymore. She was rude and the behavior was uncalled for. The service was horrible on the website it says they trim and cut fabrics and when I walked in I was immediately denied. I didn't even tell her what I needed done she was saying she doesn't do that... they clearly provide that service it's displayed everywhere in the store and online. read more

The selection is amazing....the staff more than accommodating...and prices are beyond reasonable. i have been shopping there for over twenty years and have never been disappointed. One of my absolute go to stores for fabrics I need. Now, if you're anything like me (a designer in constant need of a fabric store) you are in constant need of a fabric source. I highly suggest this one. Very big, there is often a sale to look out for and there is a great selection of upholstery for the interior folk. But with all things, there are negatives. While they are a big place, it is often disorganized and you will be shuffling there a bunch of things to find what you might like. You might also be fighting off a few for a favorable fabric, I haven't personal had to deal with that, but I have heard stories. They often sell by the piece rather than a bolt. There are bolts, make no mistake, they are there, but I wish they were all bolts. This place can be dirty, don't drop anything on the floor. Otherwise, this place is great. I've been going here for years for fabric. It's my first stop for good variety, reasonable prices, easy to see displays, comfortable- enough environment. Lovely wide selection, for school costumes, craft fabric, upholstery for redoing my dining room chairs, fabric for evening wear, daily skirts, some trimmings for crafts. Assistance when you need it is helpful and knowledgeable, and no one hovers, which I like. If you're not a professional at choosing the ladies at the cutting table in the back can assist you; they were very helpful. As it was my first the place was a bit over whelming for. Which was fine bc the prices were EXTREMELY cheap. You can find the prices written inside the rolls of fabric. I spent 28 for 5 yards of silk. 4 of the 5 yards were $5 a yard and the 5th yard was $8. great place... kind of like an amusement park for crafters. you walk in thinking "yeah, this could be fun..." and walk out after the adrenaline rush with three trash bags full of everything from foam to upholstery fabric and spices to t-shirts. i have been a loyal customer here for at least 10 years (until a year or two ago they were in linden). the employees and owner are some of the nicest people you'll meet. and the merch, for the most part, isn't crap-- it's designer fabrics and name-brand findings bought as closeouts. some of the "plus more" stuff on the perimeter is dollar store junk but fortunately these things are 3 or 4 for a dollar so even there you'll save money. last year there was a huge shipment of american apparel brand solid t-shirts that were put up for $2 each (they sell in stores for $20+ a piece) i've only been able to come here once or twice a year due to lack of transportation but i just looked at a map and saw how close the NJTransit station was--- half a mile-- something tells me i'll be coming home with a lot more trash bags full of fabric read more

I am new in the Northern area... but this was right up my alley..I had no sleep upon arrival but was immediately energized by the selection..I came in specifically to purchase lycra but ended up with wallpaper .30$ per roll faux fur..and several other fun and exciting items the staff was gracious and very kind..even the customers were pleasant to each other..and I must note the sizable Spiderman/superhero section..I have a six year old boy who love skateboards Spiderman and any other hero or villan he can get his hands on..I found arm bands normally retailing at 8.99$ for the knockout price of 3 for 1$!!! Found the Fabric Warehouse through an Internet search and was so happy to find it! Been back for every project since and headed back today to search the well organized piles for the perfect light blue satin. I'm sure I'll have a few to choose from! I'll also search the trimming wall for cord or ribbon and the tables of ribbon flowers at stock-up prices! Of course I'll zip through the overstocked section to see what bargains are there because there's always extra money on hand! So happy that they reopened this Monday. My sister and I are quilters and get most of our quilting cottons there. We enjoy looking through the piles on the tables for what we like. Keep in mind that it is a warehouse (nothing fancy) but the prices are great, especially when there's a sale. I COMPLETELY AGREE. and a big thank you because her review and photo led me to make the trip and I'm so glad I did. The Rahway warehouse is a fabric lover's dream. I recently was told about a 40% off sale of bolt fabric and ran down on a Sunday to fall in love with aisle after aisle of amazing choices. I found the stock very well organized by color - and then for instance all the silk choices were organized in a separate section. Easy to locate and view the selections. And the discount bins filled with yards of high quality fabrics for $10!! Your head will spin with all the creations your imagination will take off with while you are there. One of my best friends I discovered has all her suits made from the suiting fabrics available here. Talk about keeping a great find secret..... My highest recommendation for fabrics. (Also I met some costume designers there on my visit who were purchasing the amazing faux fur fabrics. They too said the prices were the best.) Go and enjoy for yourself! read more

This is a true warehouse, where, if you have at least forty-five minutes, you are bound to find awesome stuff. Everything is on bolts on shelves, piled high. But it is well organized by fabric type and color group. We are re-upholstering an antique love-seat and chairs and found a beautiful red chenille, a very how-You-doin' red faux croc, and batting and foam galore. All for about $100 flat. read more

So I frequently visit this store a lot but the customer service of a few employees is terrible!! Not only that but the place is beyond hot you can not breathe in there at all. I walked in today 10 minutes before closing time just to pick something up very quickly and after entering the store I was stopped by a rude Hispanic woman with glasses who I can say is rude during each encounter I have had with her who lied and said the store was closed. Thankfully before I could get anymore upset a very nice also Hispanic woman approached me to clean up her disgusting disposition and said sorry ma'am we are closed. Now although she lied as well its not what you say its how you say it and this was one of those instances. I just look at this experience as their loss because they lost money since I took mine elsewhere and will be from now on. read more

Went yesterday. Pretty big warehouse feel. No frills here. Alot of fabric. Some as cheap as 1-2 bucks a yard. Thread is 3 for $1. Quilting thread is .50 cents. They have all sorts of finishings too. Foam, leather, batting, etc. If you go online you can get a 10% off coupon. They are open 7 days a week. Another store on Main St in Belleville. Have fun! read more

after visiting several local NJ fabric 'warehouses', only to be extremely disappointed at the mess i had to look through, and realizing they were really just jobbers selling a lot of fabric that no one will ever buy, i found FWD here on yelp. i was expecting another warehouse, but thought the pics were more promising than the others. needless to say i was SHOCKED when i picked up the first bolt and saw 30 scribbled on the inside roll. i had to go over to the counter and ask if that price was for the entire roll or bty;) she confirmed it was, and i assumed they were going to be a rip off. i inquired about wholesale pricing, and she told me you receive a 25% discount if you spend $500. that sounded good to me! $700 later, i found some amazing apparel fabrics, many at $8/y! are they more expensive than typical warehouses - yes. you might even find similar fabrics and better pricing at joann's, esp when they have coupons. i can't wait until they have their next sale. i will be visiting this warehouse frequently. read more

Aside from the wide selection of curtain, upholstery and clothing fabric available at good prices, I was very glad to discover bulk bags of satin flowers and other decorative trim at MUCH better prices than craft stores. There is also a section of faux fur, suit fabric, wallpaper, and cloth ribbon. You can take up to 5 small fabric swatches a visit (about 1 inch wide)--just ask the helpful ladies at the back cutting table. The prices are listed inside the rolls of fabric. This is definitely a warehouse atmosphere, but it's clean, cheap and well-organized. read more

A Thom Felicia linen fabric pattern City Squares from Kravet would have cost me $49.20 per yard from Karvet. Calico Corners was selling it for 54.99 and it was $8 per yard at the Fabric Warehouse. This was my first visit and yes, I would definitely go back. The aisles are stocked with well organized bolts of various choices. As one other reviewer said, it can get very hot in this place and I for one worked up a sweat! While nobody offered assistance, when asked, one woman in particular, was extremely helpful in getting me help and searching the back for matching bolts. Another, just walked off and left me standing at the counter until I realized she wasn't coming back. I would have given it four stars had she not insisted that two bolts matched when they did not and then walked off. My choice of fabric was not my initial goal but the price and pattern was something that could work. Having asked and been told that my Thom Filicia, Kravet, selection was not soil and stain repellent, I was delighted to research it and see IT IS! Did I mention that it was at least $50 a yard cheaper than any site I checked. I haven't unrolled it yet so hope there are no defects to burst my bubble. read more
