Large Iced Bourbon Caramel Latte with Oat Milk
    Angelica L.

Rating: 4.6/5 We were in the area, ordering lunch from one of the other food trucks, when we stumbled upon this coffee truck. The bourbon caramel latte caught our eye, so we decided to give it a try. It looked like there was only one person working and taking orders, so you might have to wait a bit to place your order or receive your drink. Large Iced Bourbon Caramel Latte ($6) + Oat Milk ($1): This drink comes with three shots of espresso, but it didn't have an overpoweringly bold coffee flavor. All the flavors were well balanced. I also really liked the caramel syrup--it didn't have that overly sweet, artificial sugar taste. I shared the drink with my husband and was caffeinated enough just from drinking half. Even after sitting for a while, it didn't taste watered down. It's definitely something I'd order again.

I love the food truck park, plenty of shaded seating and well maintained. The park is a bit hidden, but it's great privacy. Service was quick. I got the hazelnut cream latte and a cute little sausage biscuit. Biscuit was plain, but well made and filling. The perfect size at a reasonable price- that's a rarity now. The latte was okay. Didn't get much of a hazelnut taste and is a bit watery. I opted for the large, but probably only drank 1/4. I'd still come back to try other stuff.

Great coffee, average price, they have a cute kids playground close by and outdoor seating is available. I didn't see any restroom and parking was limited as they share it with other food trucks. The have turf with just elevates the place. Chill vibes, my friends and I talked for about an hour just enjoying our coffee and catching up. The owner was there and was nice talking to us about his journey and the making of his coffee. Would stop by again!

Really wanted to try the bourbon caramel latte, but unfortunately they were out of it the day we went. We got to try the hazelnut cream latte and it was yummy. If you don't like your lattes too sweet I definitely recommend adding an extra shot of espresso.

This coffee truck takes my heart for best vanilla lavender latte in the city! They use a special blend of lavender seeds and vanilla that's a whole 24 hour process to make the syrup! You can definitely taste the craftsmanship! Neighbor Coffee and Friends is hands down the perfect way to start your morning. The cozy, welcoming vibe makes it an instant favorite, and the menu is packed with incredible options. Their vanilla lavender latte is a total standout--smooth, perfectly balanced, and just the right amount of sweetness with floral notes that make each sip feel like a little morning indulgence. Not to mention the service is so kind and sweet! It's always a 11/10 experience when the barista knows you and your order. The guys that run the shop are very knowledgeable, quick on their feet and you can tell love goes into every drink. Now let's talk about their homemade sausage biscuits. These are next-level breakfast goals--flaky, buttery biscuits paired with flavorful, juicy sausage that tastes like it was made with love. It's comfort food done absolutely right, and you'll want to savor every bite. This is perfect for someone who's not a big eater first thing in the morning, but needs something light and flavorful until lunch time. Whether you're grabbing coffee on the go or looking to settle in for a relaxed morning, Neighbor Coffee and Friends has everything you need. Amazing drinks, unbeatable breakfast, and a friendly atmosphere--it's quickly become one of my favorite spots.

Such good coffee and great service! We got the bourbon caramel latte and the lavender vanilla latte. Head's up, the LV syrup is the only non-dairy syrup if you have allergies/sensitivities - it's delicious

Biscuits and lemon lavender olive oil bread. Oh and coffee.

Neighbor Coffee is a great neighbor to have. Excellent espresso drinks and the biscuits and pastry were top notch. Parking is usually available in the mornings at the 5000 Burnet Food Trailer park. There are 4 partially shaded tables next to their trailer as well as others scattered around. You can order ahead online via a Joe Coffee app. If, like me, you haven't used this service before, expect the typical sign-up friction. You might do just as well to order in person. Their service seemed pretty efficient on a Friday morning, maybe not worth saving the 3 minutes of ordering in advance. Now, if I could just get a side of cream gravy to go with those biscuits...

One of my favorite coffee shops in Austin! The cold brew and hazelnut cream latte are my go-tos, but I've had a number of their coffees many times before and they always hit the spot. Located in a small food truck lot off Burnet, they're consistent with their flavors and are very hospitable. Highly recommend!

Neighbor is one of my top coffee spots! The coffee is delicious and the staff is so so friendly. it's in a little food truck courtyard so there's plenty of food selections near by to go with your drink as well. Neighbor also has biscuits though if you want a little snack with your drink and they're delicious!

Finding a great new coffee spot is like finding gold at the the of a rainbow. Came here on an event, oat milk latte was proclaimed to be 'the best' my friend has had. Temp was good, flavor on point. The same can be said for my regular milk vanilla latte. The staff/owners(?) were great too. Very much worth a try.

Open later than most coffee shops, especially in this deserted part of town. Varied drink menu, both caffeinated and not caffeinated, including refreshers. Nice creative variety of desserts (including a Biscoff cake!) and a kolaches case. At one point the brought some hot baked dessert (looked like a whole coffee cake) out the oven and it smelled like heaven. The bad: Nothing vegan or healthy, not even pre-made cold sandwiches or packaged salads. If you are a little peckish for a healthy snack, this is not the place. The coffees: They have all the regular espresso drinks, and also Turkish coffee and of course Yemeni, their specialty. I had heard great things about Yemeni coffee and was exciting to try it. My first drink, a traditional coffee drink called Jubani ($6) contained coffee but was watery like a tea. It had also ginger and cinnamon. I was not expecting it to be like a tea. I immediately told the cashier I didn't like the drink and would like just an Americano, double shot espresso. I was charged $9 for a 12 oz cup. No cream or sugar, no added flavorings. If I were in charge I wouldn't have charged for this second drink, since it comes at almost zero cost to them and would show good faith and ensure repeat business. Disappointingly, the Americano was also watery and sort of "lemony", but I still drank half while sitting with my friend. I'll say that my friend had some sort of an iced latte that she enjoyed. I might try a second visit and order a Turkish coffee, but I will make sure to have had a full meal before.

While exploring the many museums across the University of Texas campus, a quick caffeine break was needed for my girlfriend and we were overwhelmed by the number of options on The Drag. It makes sense that there are plenty of places to choose from because of the large number of UT students. Everyone needs a little coffee in their lives. One of the highest reviewed ones with a large pool of ratings was Lucky Lab Coffee and after checking a few quick reviews, we decided to give it a chance. Lucky Lab has five locations in Austin (four on campus) and one location in Dripping Springs. The one we were at off The Drag was their flagship. This location serves a little bit of everything from sandwiches to pastries, salad to quiche, and of course, coffee. As we walked inside the flagship, it is easy to notice how tight the space is. There is very little seating inside at their bar, but they make up for it with plenty of shaded outdoor space that is perfect for a nice day. Scanning their menu, we landed on some drinks from their winter menu. I was intrigued by their Pomegranate Rosemary Latte while my girlfriend tried their Ginger Spice Mocha. We got them both iced. First, it is interesting to see the fusion of pomegranate and rosemary in a latte. I was intrigued by those flavors. Their drink sizes are 12 oz, 16 oz, and 20 oz, each adding an additional 50 cents to each upgrade. All milk alternatives cost 1 dollar. It was only a short wait to get our coffees and the cup with the little lab on it was cute. I think specialty drinks have an opportunity to be amazing and one of a kind or the worst drink imaginable. This pomegranate rosemary latte did not fall into either category exactly, but leaned more toward the latter. I love pomegranates and I always appreciate how earthy rosemary can be in a coffee. One of my favorite lattes I have ever had has rosemary in it. This was just not working for me. I shamefully did not finish my coffee. As for my girlfriend, she did not like her ginger spice mocha. I could not imagine gingerbread syrup not working in a mocha, but after trying it myself it was not for me either. It seems like a perfect match, but here the gingerbread is competing with the chocolate and instead of complementing each other they clash. She told me that the flavors were "un-mocha like". She drank less than half of her coffee before tossing it as well. Neither of us wanted to dislike Lucky Lab. They seem well established and I felt like they were trustworthy based on reviews, but I wonder what these previous reviewers were tweaking on or what magical concoction of coffee granted from heaven above they were sipping on because we were distraught by how disappointing these drinks were. I would like to give Lucky Lab Coffee Co the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe the specialty drinks were not up to par with their traditional beverages. However, the almost 30 different syrup options on their wall make me feel they lack a little focus and try too hard to stand out. They lose what makes a coffee good, which is coffee. I want to say I will give them a second shot in the future to see if it was just an off day or a bad beverage pick. Too many shots turns a Lucky Lab into Old Yeller. The lab needs to be put on a leash before I think about returning. RIYL: options
